This an an awful store. There are some really nice employees that work here, but few. Most pretentious group of yuppies Ive ever worked with. Anne Johnson is a horrible manager, an idiotic idealist who doesnt think things through before doing, who is awful at dealing with people. Naturally all the POC workers get the labor jobs and the jobs nobody else wants to do, and they get paid less for it. Claim to promote from within, but that is not the case. Fired me three days before Christmas. Anne Johnson is by far the most awful manager Ive ever had in my life. And unfortunately, Eastside is promoting this woman because of all the problems she has working with people. They are moving her so shell no longer have to work with people. Its sad. Go to the wedge or Seward if youre looking for a good co-op. This one isnt worth your time.

Best cheapest organic food in town. And if you become a member you get food even cheaper!! With happy friendly staff!! You really feel at home better than Whole Foods!! or Trader Joes or Lunds!! People there and Northeast co-op or so down to earth.. when they ran out of wheat grass they said that the guy down the street didnt deliver his order yet!! Wow .!! really locally sourced goods.!! They have a juice bar thats really geared to people that live in Northeast! The names of the juice blends are Parks. and north east communities ! You feel so welcomed by every staff member.!!!!! I bought a bed pomegranate and they said no problem just grab another one.. so cool and friendly!!

I want to love it but I cant at these prices. To be fair to them I moved from uptown where The Wedge is at which is a co-op that is hard to stack up to. Even still the selection here is okay but the prices are absurd. I get some stuff will be more than a chain store but the price differences of things I can find elsewhere is untenable. Ive found many things twice the price or more of the exact same thing at Rainbow Foods or such. Nowadays when Target has 20+ varieties of non-dairy milk the list of things I can only find at a co-op is small so I need a reason to come in and the prices certainly dont offer that reason.

Normally one of my favorite places to shop at. I had bought a fish oil supplement yesterday July 22nd and decided i didnt need it. So I went back today with my receipt to return it and when I looked at the receipt i realized that it said no sale. Long story short an inexperienced sales women had rang me up incorrectly so it wasnt in the system. I was able to get a store credit, but it was disappointing as I had a plan you buy a different supplement somewhere else. Other than that its a good place to shop just make sure to read your receipt before leaving

I love Eastside Food Co-op and have been a member since the beginning. They are set up to be very family friendly with small shopping carts and a chalkboard near the check out. However, so many of their staff members are openly hostile towards children that I dread going there with mine. I understand its a small place and the majority of their shoppers are childless, but children are children and they are not going to act like adults. Maybe its a training issue. If it werent for that one thing, I would give them 5 stars.

The staff at EFC are fantastic--always friendly and helpful. The store expanded not so very long ago, and the new restrooms and café area are beautiful and spacious. They added space and created broader selection in seemingly all departments, but avoided the big grocery store feel that some other large co-ops have; EFC still feels like my "little" local co-op. Lovely patio out front with fun mural and cheery entry design. Always a parking spot available when I go. Theres nothing I dont love about this co-op.

Lol, pretty standard. They take their individual use/unisex bathrooms too seriously, lol. Good for you guys, letting everyone use your bathrooms all the time but, really.... Your bathrooms are for one person at a time. You just put up a plaque, lols. They also offer a waste basket, a recycling basket, and a compost basket, in the bathroom, with the trash basket being the smallest. So, maybe on a busy day, youll be sitting next to a compost pile, versus sitting above one!

Honestly I go here. But w expereinces I had were not good. One time I bought chicken from the meat case and had tiny bones in it. When I called. No response back from the manager. Second time I bought Kale and didnt use it for about 2 days. When I opened the bag there were tiny grey bugs all over the stalk. SO GROSS. Again called the manager and no one called me back. Terrible experiences and not customer service driven when there is an issue.

Nice place. Helpful staff. Good health-conscious food, supplements, wellness products etc. Great bulk section. They will have a meat department and deli soon too! The prices aint bad; you really need to consider what you are buying. Ill definitely pay more for food that isnt gonna kill me slowly. They have regular store deals too, so if you are smart you will pay attention and think ahead. Im glad to be a member here!

Very good selection of meats, fruits, veggies. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great selection of beauty products, vitamins and body wash/care. An added coffee shop has smoothies, juices, tea, coffee and small snacks (cookies, scones etc). - added bonus they dont charge you extra for the type of milk you use. Everywhere else charges you extra for a non-dairy product, not here.

After moving here we found this place and its our new local co-op. Their staff is friendly (which is more than I can say for other co-ops) and they have a good, fresh selection. They didnt have too many variations on a pork shoulder, but Im not sure how many other people want an 8# bone-in pork shoulder on any given day. They have a lovely cafe as well if you want to read for a while.

This place is our favorite co-op. The staff are friendly and unique individuals, the store is always clean and well stocked, and they have a peanut butter machine so you can buy fresh peanut butter in bulk!! Woo hoo!! They also have the best chocolate selection in all of America, ever! Extra points for having a great produce selection including fresh green jackfruit! Best co-op ever!

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Small but full of great selections and are currently expanding to a much larger space. The member specials and weekly specials are great deals. I love the natural remedies and aisle and the health and beauty products too. They are committed to supporting the neighborhood.

Great selection, especially for a store this size! I used to buy at Cub, but now I buy almost everything here. They almost always have everything I want, so I dont have to go anywhere else. I also find that their prices are competitive (comparing organic with organic, etc.). Some things are lower priced here!

This is a perfect little co-op! Ive been a member here for almost 4 years. Some of the grocery selection is a little smaller than the bigger co-ops, but the prices seem to be lower. Also, its small enough to get to know a lot of the employees, so it feels like Im visiting neighbors wherever I go.
