Really disappointed! Stopped in for lunch as I had always heard such great things... It took 5 minutes to be greeted and seated a were NOT busy @ 1:30 in the afternoon. A couple tables and a couple people at the bar is all. The waitress took my order and my food came by a runner? I took the servers suggestion horseradish, blue cheese/ cream cheese burger. The burger was luke warm, the bun seemed stale, the fried onions on it were grease soaked and my onion rings were cold and falling apart. The server never came back to check if my order was ok so I did not have a chance to send it back. I just asked for my check. Then I could not find her to pay the bill so I went to the bar and the bartender was too busy CHATTING to acknowledge me until I spoke up to get his attention. He got a little snippy that he would have to FIND MY SERVER... I said "That would be nice". I will never go back there again. Maybe the St Paul location has better service and food.

Blue Door is my favorite place to go for a Juicy Lucy. I usually go for the traditional bacon blucy, but really like the pastramalicious too. Cajun tots are awesome, deep fried green beans are delicious, and Id kill for those cheese curds. So good. Two downsides: one is the cowboy style (add onion rings and BBQ sauce to the burger). Im not really a fan anymore, because the onion rings end up soggy instead of staying nice and crispy. And two: when I go with my family (read: 3 kids), theyve forgotten to bring something out on more than one occasion. Appetizers, the aforementioned cowboy style left off the burger, etc. But all in all, a delicious experience. EDIT: Just wanted to add that I had the Islander burger last night, and it was fantastic. I was expecting it to be too spicy, but it felt light instead heavy and had perfectly balanced flavors. Also, frogtown wings are amazing. Maple bacon wings are pretty good too.

What We Ordered - Fried Cheese Curds - Fried Green Beans - Zucchini Fries with Queso Sauce - Cajun Redux - Cease & Desist My friend told me this was his favorite Juicy Lucy place in MN. I was very skeptical since Matts Bar and 5-8 Bar always popped up when I searched on Google. Never should have doubted him because it was delicious! Appetizers were good..anything with cheese is good. ^_^ That Queso sauce for the Zucchini Fries was addicting! I dipped everything in there haha. I was so happy my Cajun Redux was cooked to a perfect medium after my horrible experience at 5-8 Bar. It had a good amount of heat and cheese to meat ratio.I tried my cousins Cease & Desist and it tasted just like a Big Mac but, better!! More meat, cheese and sauce than a regular Big Mac. I will be back the next time Im in town. :)

Oddest location for a restaurant, smack dab in the middle of a residential district. Busy store, but you have to wait either inside the store or across the street (presumably because theres a bus stop right on the corner where the restaurant is). They specialize in "Jucy Lucy" burgers. Honestly, I thought Uncle Toms home-made ones were better. The patties here look like two thin burger patties slapped together with cheese in the middle. The "Classic" came with just buns, the special patty, and pickles. Really liked their sides though. The fried cheese curds, beer-battered green beans, and tater tots were all super tasty. Also ordered the pork belly fritters but they had an unexpected texture and I wouldnt order them again although they tasted fine.

Visited Longfellows Blue Door for lunch at 1:30, and we were one of two tables that had customers. Took fifteen minutes to get our order, then another 35 to get our food. The food--burgers and tater tots all around--was very good, although the burgers were lukewarm, the tots stone cold. Our waitress disappeared. Finally, we had to eat, and did, and when we told our waitress, politely, that the food was cold (this after we said that it was well made), she seemed totally indifferent. When one of our group emailed the establishment to point this out, there was no response. Hoping this doesnt happen again, as its nice to have a place like Blue Door in Longfellow, but it seems as though their attitude is one of "youre lucky to have us here."

Very good burgers, great beer selection and excellent fried pickles. Definitely try the "cease and desist" burger, you wont regret it. They have great and inventive specials all the time. Usually one for a burger, and another for wings or "totchos", which are tater tots nachos - these can be very good. The space can be very loud, and the wait can be long to get a table during busy times. If you get there after 7:30 on a weekday you wont have to wait to get a table. I have had Juicy Lucys at all the local places, and this is my favorite. Another good combo is the "Bacon Blucy", get it "Cowboy Style" with extra BBQ and an onion ring. A burger stuffed with bacon is super yummy.

Stellar service (Annie). Delicious Sunday brunch for our bunch: The Blucy, The Jiffy, Thai Chicken Wrap, Iced Tea, Cider on tap. Fresh, tasty, fast, fun, friendly. (Hostess hesitated about the booth we chose and aggressive about getting us out of there PDQ, however, we wont hold that against her - she is young and hardworking, doing her job, bless her heart, without having learned the Art of the Finesse, yet.) Got there when The Blue Door opened, filled up fast. Lovely beginning to a glorious MN spring day.

Stopped here for an early dinner and was not pleased. It took the waitress 5 minutes to come and even get our drinks (which she had someone else take over to us) and then another 5 to come back and take our order. The food was mediocre at best, along with lackluster service. Waitress never smiled, checked on us, etc. Giving it the benefit of the doubt Id try it again sometime, but was disappointed with the establishments service and food, but a very lively place.

If youre looking into the Blue Door, youve probably heard all you need to know about them - amazing burgers, great tap list, and comfortable atmosphere. As far as I know there are three locations - the original in St. Paul, one in Como, and here in Longfellow. The STP location is very, very small, and the Como location is extremely popular with the college crowd, so the Longfellow location seems to be the best for getting service.

I feel like the Juicy Lucy origin debate was a bit before my time. I have nothing to add to whether it came from the 5-8 Club or Matts Bar. But I can say for certain that The Blue Door has the best version of the Juicy Lucy that I have ever had. The Blucy is delightful! If youre in the mood for an appetizer, the beer battered green beans are perfect.

Have never been disappointed here. Juicy Blucys, totchos, Spam bites, good tap craft beer selection. Definitely check out the "flavor of the moment" in burgers, totchos and wings. This place is popular, so there can definitely be a wait at dinner/lunch times and weekends, but its an acceptable time and understandable for a popular neighborhood joint.

This is the best burger in the Twin Cities. Ive been to the much smaller St. Paul location many times. This location is much bigger with more waiting room and a larger bar. Its nice to get the same great food without the huge wait. Of course there still is going to be a bit of a wait, but its worth it. Theres a reason this place is always busy.
