I would recommend Bar Luchador to anyone, both for their food and their service. I was hosting a dinner, and the restaurant I had talked to for catering fell through with less than 24 hours to the event. I called up Bar Luchador, and they were incredibly accommodating, and were able to provide food for 30 people in less than 24 hours! The price was perfect for my price range (~$10/person with me picking up the food). I showed up to pick up the food, and was greeting with a positive MOUNTAIN of food, in proper chafing dishes, with the hot foot inside an insulated container to keep it warm on the way home. The tacos were amazing - we got their standard chicken and their al pastor. The chicken was juicy with a pleasant grilled smokiness, and the al pastor had a good background spice. Each came with an array of sides paired to them, in separate containers. There was a BUCKET of tortilla chips, which were obviously made in the store, crispy, and addicting. Everyone raved about the food and I will absolutely be ordering from them again. Thanks Bar Luchador!

A friend and I stopped by Bar Luchador on a Saturday afternoon. There was ample seating and bar space, as well as friendly staff on duty. The bar offers a modern twist on traditional Mexican fare, as well as a good selection of beers on tap. The space used to be owned by Campus Pizza, and has since been purchased and renovated by the owner of Stub & Herbs. The updated look appeals to customers like myself who look for clean and minimal elements fused with earthy and organic ones as well; not to mention a wall devoted to a Mexican wrestlers face. We were also happy to see that Bar Luchador is offering locally roasted coffee by Black Eye Roasting Co., and decided to get a coffee for the road. All in all, a pleasant experience.

An excellent bar on several fronts. Their food menu has a great (and relatively affordable) selection, my favorite is to get three different tacos, the portions are more than generous. Also, if youre just there for drinks and a snack, the guac and chips has a huge serving size. The bartenders are knowledgeable and their tequila selection is exceptional. Lastly the daily specials are fantastic, and the bar does a monthly (?) themed night which regulars absolutely will not miss. Bar Luchador out-shines what weve all come to expect of Stadium-Village. Try it, youll become a regular.

The food here is wonderful. But the staff - not so much. Service is slow. The waiters sit and pay with their hair and text at the server station while we havent been asked about drinks. And the past 2 times I have called a pick up for 20+ people, they tell me to call 30 minutes before to remind them. Why do I have to remind them to do an order? They are lucky their food is good. I never go here unless I have 2-3 hours of free time. Because that is how long it takes to get your drinks and meal with the service.

Its freezing in there and all the vents are blowing cold air onto the food making it nearly inedible after only a few minutes. I enjoyed the veggie nachos with cauliflower though, it almost had the same texture as chicken. Every where you sit has a tv in front of you and very close seating. People constantly are squeezing by you to get through. I would go back for nachos if the vent situation was altered and it wasnt so cold.

Dont waste your time with the Burritomania event. Everything is up-charged and you dont actually get the extra ingredients youre paying for. If you upgrade to the smothered burrito, theyll barely add any cheese due to the "cheese budget." And if you ask for more they will say no. Why even have the option to have your burrito "drenched in cheese" if you wont actually drench the burrito in cheese? Smh.

A nice place in college town for drinks and Mexican food with a twist. Fun decor. Good service. The flavors are bold so be ready for the sweet, the spicy, the salty and the tarty. We got the Shrimp Tostadas, Elotes, 5 Tacos and Chilaquiles Nachos. Lots of flavor. Favorite of the evening & repeatworthy: Shrimp Tostadas. Never had it with cucumbers but its perfect on a hot humid day. Very refreshing.

Nastiest chips and guac Ive ever had. Ordered it on a postmates and it came in a greasy covered brown bag. Even the post mates driver said "I didnt even want to bring it to you, you should have ordered chipotle." And he was right the portion was the same exact as chipotle but for some reason $5 more. The guacamole itself too was covered in a layer of what seemed oil. Disgusting!!

As much as I want a great Mexican restaurant close to the U, Bar Luchador is a disappointment. It seems to me to be trying to be more of a bar than a restaurant. The limited food options and no sides coupled with overpriced tacos make for an unpleasant dining experience. And they serve their tacos on cold tortillas!

Good service, but food is terrible. Tacos are way overpriced and disgusting. Not authentic at all. Also ordered the nachos... wow, seriously? overpriced and missing key ingredients.. The fried chicken torta was decent..but not authentic at all. I guess its decent bar food..but dont come here for authenticity.

Tacos are great, drinks are strong and the staff is great. One of the TVs is broken so it looks green but I kind of like it. Once a month they have a day of just serving burittos and theyre some of the best burritos Ive ever had. Would recommend. They should host a trivia night on Thursday nights though.

Dont take your kids here. They wont find anything to eat. Even the rice and beans are spicy. Everything has gluten or corn. There arent any rice bowls with veggies, but youll get outs on meat on your tacos. On the plus side, the margaritas are good. And if you bring your kids, youll need it!

Staff was nice, but the food was terrible. If youre looking for something authentic, this is not the place. Its far from authentic. I dont know why people like this place so much. Id go back for a drink, decent atmosphere, again the food was not good in my opinion. Very bland for my taste.

The porkbelly tacos are second to none. Been to this place a few times and would consider it to be a solid 5 star if not for the subpar service the last time I ate there. I want so bad for this place to be perfect but dont go on a Friday around dinner unless youre a patient person.

Been here several times, never crowded, amazing food at a reasonable price! Drinks are strong but not over priced. Good vibes and atmosphere! Food would be labled Mexican street food, I have been to some down and dirty parts of Mexico and this food is as good as anywhere!

Excellent food! The tacos are amazing, and I love the variety. I definitely recommend mixing and matching them to try out a few different kinds! The tacos are also bigger than you think- they are street taco sized, but absolutely packed with toppings.
