The times I have been in the pub, it has been a pleasant experience. But unfortunately, now having worked by the pub and knowing the residents in the area - I can say I am no longer a fan on moral grounds. The Nomad is located in the center of a diverse neighborhood in which a lot of residents are in government subsidized housing. The Nomad hosts outdoor concerts almost daily from 9pm to 1am/2am and a lot of residents I have encountered complain of sleeplessness and ill effects on their children. I know because it is a white hipster bar located in an immigrant area there is much less enforcement of sound regulation or care, but it is just depressing to hear how children cant sleep before schooldays or workers wait up until the noise stops and then get up only a few hours later. I know currently at 12:30 on a Wednesday night, the concerts bass is echoing for two to three blocks away from the bar and each time I have tried to contact the city about their sound permits they say that I would need to get a resident to testify at their city renewal date when that date rolls around, but when the residents are not usually permanent and interacting with officials inspires fear, it seems like they have no options but to deal with the bars constant noise. If this bar was located in any other residential part of town, there wouldnt be concerts on most weekdays after 10pm. I understand special events and celebrations, but their event calendar doesnt lie - loud outdoor music throughout the summer while being located in one of the most densely polulated and underprivileged parts of Minneapolis.

A great place if youre a big soccer fan, as this is absolutely a soccer bar (the local Tottenham supporters meet here). Decent selection of beers, and although some of the patrons may seem abrasive, its a rather welcoming environment. My only complaint is that sometimes the servers seem as they they are ignoring you. Ive waited for a beer at the bar for upwards of 10 minutes before, even making eye contact with the server a few times, and no one else was served either. If the bartenders were a little more attentive this place would be nearly perfect. Walking distance from the light rail.

I come here once a month for Grrrl Scout, so my experiences are all based around that event. Its always great! The bartenders are friendly and the drinks are good. Theres sometimes a long wait for the bathroom, but thats to be expected when its so full! I cant speak to how queer friendly The Nomad is on a regular night, but Grrrl Scout nights get an A+ from me, because of gender neutral bathrooms and the awesome security staff.

I only go to see soccer matches. Parking is a nightmare, I walk from the light rail. Good selection of beers, but more expensive than most places. Fairly dirty, kinda dark and gross inside. 2 outdoor patios, one for games, one for seating- always A TON OF SMOKE. Seems to be dog friendly. Bring your own food, or deliver from the neighborhood, like jimmy johns. Boils down to - I only really go here to watch soccer.

beautiful bar, go there EARLY for soccer fun (sometimes they open at 6 AM for across the world matches), HH is legit, try a prefix! (jameson/pbr combo), and then stay for PINBALL! (the machines rotate out about every 3-4 weeks), and they have a FULL entertainment schedule, so check their website for whats happening the night you are coming to the West Bank!

Nomad is a fairly good bar: they have a decent set of taps and an average selection of liquor, their patio is nice, and their staff are just fine. Still, the place lacks genuine character; it feels nondescript and forgettable. Id never complain if thats where my friends wanted to go for the evening, but its also never what Id pick if it were up to me.

Great friendly staff, One of few Places you can bring your dog. Staff was friendly and welcoming to my Dog as well. No food at this place except Frozen Pizza. My only complaint was that they dont serve True Pints. I ordered a hoegaarden and was disapointed to only have a 12 oz cup instead of a 20 oz. Great beer selection as well I will be going back!

Perhaps the best Ethiopean reastaurant in Minneapolis. Our Ethiopean friends agree. Flavorful and lean cooking, great service, and friendly staff. My favorites are the veggie sampler, Dulet (beef, tripe and kidney), raw kitfo (spiced ground beef), the doro wat (spicy chicken stew), and the Ethiopean spiced tea, and the beers (of course)...

The patio is a good size. The beer selection is pretty incredible. The chalkboard menus can be a little hard to read at times, but usually they are very clear. The entertainment they have booked makes this place worth visiting. The only major issue is how hard it can be to park around it. Thats just the area though.

Yeah big surprise they are trying to sell this dump. Theyve clearly given up. The bar is poorly kept up and smells like a dumpster. Also, unless you are dressed like a homeless person the bartenders will completely ignore you. Dont be fooled by a decent beer line up, because chances are you wont even get a drink.

Great place to come and watch the world’s soccer matches and play bocce ball, though if there’s a big game on, finding seats may be difficult. Though standing room only and camaraderie may be what youre looking for when cheering on your team. Drinks are a bit more than I expected, but good happy hour specials.

I like the place. I think it is very unique being that I am from Michigan. The service is good when they DONT have a show going on. The place gets pretty packed so get there early for drinks and a table (mostly standing room on the inside) if you plan to watch performances ;)

A great patio, cool location, with diverse music. They have a decent collection of liquor. Now, I havent always had the best service at the bar, but this place is quite unabashedly a dive-y bar so its basically what I expect.

Always a great bar, go watch my spurs...even at 6am, they will open and have coffee on hand. Scotty and all the bartenders are cool, Todd (owner) is a good dude. Good beer, good company, good times!

Euro-style pub in eclectic area of MPLS. Soccer on TVs and Bocce ball outside. Havent eaten there enough to give a detailed review, but the beer selection is solid.

I went there to play Peta with the Alliance Française. They had French music and a Belgium beer called, La fin du monde. What else to ask for? It was great.

The Nomad has been a regular stop for our charity bar crawl we do each year. The staff is always great, and the pub atmosphere really helps set the tone.

Fun, easy going staff. Had a good time while in town for business. They went above and beyond to put the Sounders game on. Thanks
