Desperate to try a quaint little coffee place on our way to the airport, wanting to give a local place a shot. Usually personable, kind interactions are what you receive in small business, local coffee shops. I was really let down by the disappointing customer service, I mean Im realize its a Thursday afternoon, but at least let us know our coffees are done, instead of just standing by us, while they sit, getting cold across the counterside...we stand there, waiting like lost new first timers here... they didnt greet us really... And when I mentioned almond milk to replace the cow milk. She cut me off saying just the word "soy." Not "Im sorry. We dont have almond milk. Would soy be ok?" Just one word, like she was correcting me for being so foolish to think they might have an almond substitute. It was just a cold, weird interaction, that made our multiple drinks business seem like an inconvenience to their day instead of treating us like appreciated customers. I dont expect them to worship the ground we walk in, but for crying out loud, be friendly and let us know when our mediocre beverages are now prepared and ready since we paid you hard earned moneys for this fun experience. Where was the Minnesota-nice to entice customers to be repeat-customers and keep the small businesses alive.

Its a nice quaint space, great for studying and hanging with friends. The inside is large with lots of seating, and they have two separate outdoor patios. Unfortunately, the service is quite slow, I waited 8 mins to advance two places in line, and ordered two different drinks, neither worth near what I paid after tasting them. The sizes dont include a small. They do serve ice cream though and lots of flavors for drinks. I took a reccomendation for a drink from the front worker and was hardly able to take a few sips; when I asked to switch it for a less expensive drink, they said they were going to charge me $1 more for their inconvenience. Quite dissatisfied overall. The WiFi speeds are quite dreadful as well, even at slow points in the day; there was only one other person with a laptop and it took me 6 minutes to download a small image file, then the download got an error because the download couldnt be supported in such a slow connection. I wont be conning back.

Where else can you find a cute neighborhood coffee shop that also sells ice cream?!? I love the praline pecan flavor -- very yummy! Perfect for a summer afternoon-- sit outside at one of the wrought-iron tables, shaded by a nice big umbrella. Enjoy lakeside breezes and even a view of Nokomis just down the road. Nice place to grab a treat before taking a walk around the lake. Also, there are a couple of interesting art shops next door. Of course, a coffee shop must offer good coffee. They make a very cozy latte, which I like to grab on snowy mornings on my way to work. :) I always add the cinnamon! [The one downside: the accoustics of the indoor area cause it to be rather loud in there, with all the machines grinding and buzzing. But sit outside, or order to-go! Its worth it to support this cheery little place!] This is an adorable little neighborhood coffee shop. :)

I live a block away, so I really want to like this place, but cant really warm up to it. On the plus side, they have some reasonably priced light food. However I agree with others on the relative lack of friendliness and customer service. Theyre not rude - - they just seem ambivalent about the fact that youre there. And the single biggest reason I only go there for take out, or as a last resort . . . the terrible music! They have the radio on some pop station, cranked up with booing bass, commercials and all. Not the sort of atmosphere I want to be in.

They are advertised as dog friendly, but when we came in with our dogs one of the regulars came up and said the owner doesnt like when dogs come to the shop. The cashiers didnt say anything and smiled at the pups, but this guy said the owner doesnt like it and that dogs have to be tied up outside. Call me crazy, but Im not leaving my dogs outside so I can have mediocre coffee. Or maybe that guy just doesnt like dogs? Id come back if my dogs were welcome, but since theyre not, I wont be back.

No greeting. When you walk into a place of customer service, one should expect a greeting. Hi! How can I help you? Instead, we were greeted by a silent, smug, no-greeting human. We didnt even order. We turned around and walked right back out. Dont work in customer service if you dont want to serve people. Go to Sister Sludge. Its way better.

My boyfriend, dog and I are frequent visitors of Nokomis Beach Cafe. The owner and employees are very friendly, inviting ....great customer service all around! The coffee, mochas, belgian waffles, desserts, salads, soups and sandwiches are all so good! Many regular customers and located just up the hill from Lake Nokomis.

I came in for the supposedly soap-y tasting coffee, and was highly disappointed. No soap to be found! The staff were prompt and courteous, going so far as to asking if my girlfriend and I wanted whipped cream on our 12oz Noko and Mocha. I mean, where do they get off??? Perfect 5/7

Crazy line and took forever. Twice. Both times I grabbed more water and sat outside and patiently waited for less people. Good vibe and friendly people. I didnt end up getting anything. Will try again and adjust the rating based on both experiences.

Always friendly service at Nokomis Beach Cafe. I buy their French roast coffee by the pound. Its a great deal. Freshly roasted and they will grind it to your specifications. Usually have a double espresso while I wait. I come back again and again

My favorite stop for coffee in the area. The atmosphere is cozy, perhaps just a tad stuffy. I go there all the time and the customer service has only been bad one time. Lots of outdoor seating, where you can see a sliver of the lake.

Ive been here a couple of dozen times and always received pleasant service and fresh coffee. The place can get quite busy on weekend mornings, but thats to be expected. They have both indoor and outdoor seating (under a canopy).

Ideal date location. Best chai ever. I seriously go out of my way to persuade my other mom friends to come here to grab our chais before our walk around the lake (which is just steps from this place) ample parking. Love it.

LOVE the Nokomis Beach Coffee Shop! The service is GREAT. The people who work there are genuinely nice and the cappuccinos are divine! Love seeing all of my neighbors over there too. Great hang out place.

Ive been here several times and its the same negative attitude and gossiping behind the counter. The location is great. The food and drink is good. The customer service needs work.
