Tastes as good as it looks. Loved the California and Philadelphia Roll both tasted great. Giant bar with lots of drinks. Big menu and lots of family favorites. Hibachi area was big gonna have to get a reservation to go to that. So in general Good 1. Great Sushi 2. Yummy Menu items 3. Great service fun and nice staff 4. Owner seemed great he greeted us Psst: Promotion better head in their right now 15% off everything 1/27/2017 to 2/3/2017 Hibachi, Sushi and the entire menu So far everything looks great be sure to check it out!

Good food. Good service. They have a great selection of sushi rolls. On their happy hour, you can get 20-50% off certain rolls and drinks before 6PM. It wasnt busy at all when we came, 5PM on a Friday. After about 630PM, it was nearly full. The hibachi is good, but a little more expensive ($2-7 more) than other places that do the same thing depending on what meat you get.

Very friendly, laid back atmosphere. Everyone was very professional, we were greeted by the owner, the servers were wonderful, and the food. . . Oh my goodness! SO good! Between the steak hibachi lunch and the 007 roll, I could not be happier! I have had sushi all over, Im glad to finally have a good sushi place close to home. I will definitely be going back!

I had a seriously wonderful experience at Sumo! The sushi chef was amazing and made me two chef special rolls (aka he surprised me!) that were gluten free & both were crazy delicious with great flavor balance and sauces. Our server was fantastic, she was super friendly and helpful! And all at a reasonable price.

We used to go when it was mt fuji and such a huge improvement with SUMO. The staff was so pleasant and they were great to my kids. The food was good as always. We had sushi to and would definitely buy more sushi in the future. We love it because it is a neighborhood gem not a chain.

Drove 50miles to Maple Grove to try a different sushi place then the place i usualy go to in my home town. Its been 5 hrs since I left Sumo and I CANT stop thinking about how delicious all 3 types of sushi rolls I tried were. It was SO GOOD! I will be making the 50mile drive again.

Horrible service. We had to ask multiple times for things we ordered. The group who sat at our table had ordered gluten free, which would be cooked in the back. Bills were brought out and she still didnt receive her meal (after complaining several times).

Came in for lunch, fish was not fresh, one piece of sushi tasted very fishy. Got food poisoning lasting days. Overall the food was bad. Big weird blocky chunks of sashimi, poorly made rolls. Service was not very good either.

Bad service, they were sweeping the floors while we were eating. Had reservation at 7 PM and didnt get served our drinks untill 7:45, and we were the only people in the place. I guess didnt need reservation? Not going back!!

Over priced!!! For a newly open restaurant you would expect decent price to catch your attention but not this one. Each sushi cost over $10 and some goes up to $45. So I went to Kyoto Sushi down the road.

Their food is fine but if you get takeout service be sure everything in your order makes it into your bag. Its happened a couple times to us we have been missing soup, soy sauce etc.

The fish is SO FRESH. Everything tasted incredible. We ordered a lot of sashimi because the quality of the fish is top notch. Theyre very nice folks too.

Tapanyaki chef was a good showman and the staff was very accommodating for a large birthday group. Food was good and peeboy was the life of the party.

I think this place is great! I enjoy going here for lunch and happy hour. Gluten free soy sauce is available (unlike Kyoto).
