Honestly, the food was so underwhelming and disappointing. It seemed like no effort or passion was put into it. I ordered the special combo plate. First, I would like to note that my plates were brought out piping hot. Which is a tell tale sign that the food was heated in a microwave or oven. The rice was so dried out, I took one bite and that was more than enough. The chicken in the enchilada was also dry and tasted old. Tamale was bland. The tostada would have been tolerable if it wasnt just thrown on top of all my other food, resulting in a soggy tortilla covered in beans and lettuce. The chili rellenos was actually pretty tasty though, as was the hard shell taco. The taco was the best thing on the plate. Probably because it was actually made when i ordered, and not just reheated. The salsa had no real flavor and the chips had absolutely no seasoning what so ever. I really wanted to like this place, maybe thats why I am so disappointed. Our server was very nice and courteous and on top of everything. The building was a bit run down and not very clean.

Absolutely the worst service ever! The parking lot is an absolute mess, the place is filthy! Only one man (Arturo) serving plus one new girl, (supposedly her firs day) serving and bartending?!! Waited far too long to get our drinks, then another long period before Arturo finally took our order with an attitude begging to differ with me when I said clearly they were short staffed. Finally got our bill and paid it only to find out we paid someone elses bill! Ugh!! No apologies, just attitude! Will never go back! El Potrero use to be our favorite, not anymore! I suggest skipping here and going to Casa Real on Miller Rd.

You guys are awesome! Ive eaten here several times and I gotta say, many places could learn a thing or two from you. The food is great! The service is great! And the best thing, the wait is under ten minutes and I have a family of four, so you can imagine its quite a bit of food. Ive been to three different locations (Owosso, Swartz Creek, and Fenton Rd.) And all three are the same, awesome! Keep it up El Potrero

Food was delicious and the service was fantastic but the air conditioner was not working. The staff said it had been broke for two weeks. I will be calling to be sure it has been repaired before I go back. Plus it seems like everytime I go there the table rocks. I think it is time to do some repairs at this location. The parking lot has weeds growing through the blacktop which is very rough.

The food here is decent and the first few experiences were pleasant. However, the last 3 times or so the management has been absolutely horrible and very impersonal. I dont know if the manager is stressed but he is very short and unwelcoming. I dont think the food warrants the lack of customer service. Not returning....

Was not bad, disappointed though after picking up my to go order and getting home, they forgot to put something in my order, called & received a credit. I know how that feels because I own a restaurant and things happen, like forgetting to put something in the bag that goes with the order

Amazing food! If you love authentic Mexican food this is the place to go!!! Every single bit of my dish was so good.! & to top it of the service was absolutely awesome our waitress & the manager was so kind and just Great! AMAZING first experience will continue to keep going back for more

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Ground beef was clearly a day old and reheated. Corn tortillas under cooked. The glass my margarita was served in was chipped and dirty. Service was by far the worst I have seen. A general Manager is in order for this place. One with experience. Never again.

I took a friend there last night who was visiting from out of town. Was seated in a booth. The table was sticky. The seats were sticky. The window was dirty, as in hasnt seen windex in a few years. The waitress was new, the food was marginal. Very disappointing. Embarassing, actually.

Waiter had a poor attitude right away. Tomato soup for salsa with no flavor. Some of the food was OK but one dish was returned, worse than dog food. Just like all other businesses in that building it wont last long. Its worth the trip to El Cozumel for great MX food and service.

Finally found a Mexican Restaurant I love! Have eaten here since they opened and love every dish Ive ordered. Try the El Portrero special! The Chile Relleno is delicious! Also, I prefer the food, wait staff, and atmosphere at the Swartz creek location over the Owosso location.

Food was cold EVERY TIME we ate here. The waitress was slow so by the time they got to me to tell them it was cold everyone was done eating. They did NOTHING to accommodate me at ANY time for not being able to eat, unless taking the food off for not eating anything was Special.

Love coming here and getting the Chile Relleno!! Please tell me how to make one so I dont go broke coming here! Lol. Im sure making it myself wont be the same, things never are but it would help when I need a fix while Im broke! :P The tacos are delicious too!

Arturo is one of the most nice, and funny waiters Ive ever had the chance to meet. He always makes our trip to El Potrero a wonderful time. We go here often and the food is always delicious and fast serving. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We came to this restaurant the first night they opened. The food is GREAT. The only thing better than the food is the service. All of the servers are wonderful, but Arturo ROCKS!! Have one of their extra large margaritas. You wont be disappointed.

The worse service and food. First time ever visiting and last. We ordered the special for the day and was charged full price. so sad couldnt get out of there quick enough. Staff more worried with talking with each other than taking care of guest.

Great food. Unfortunately, I never get to eat out because they mess up my order every single time I order from here. Its not hard to make something plain, but they never seem to get it right. One time I had to send the order back three times.

ASK FOR ARTURO! Most bomb waiter around. Food is great, not a bad dish on the menu. Guero Special, Tacos Mexicanos, Camarones al Chipotle are some of the best. We love this place!

Arturo is the best he is really nice and funny I got the grande burrito it is amazing and the cheese sauce is just right I would suggest it to any of my friends
