Must Try Original Yooper Food YUM. Have you heard the word about the 150 year old miners meal from Michigans U P that be Yooper Food where the copper miners would have this great lunch meal each day while deep in those mines. Traditional rutabaga chopped with meats and veggies to fill the tummy. Wrapped in a flaky golden brown crust and many top with a creamy brown gravy for this type of what we no call a pot pie. This local family puts lots of Love in each and every piping hot Pasty made from scratch each day, a small fast friendly spot will make this a regular stop to take home a super meal wrapped in those jumbo stuffed flaky pockets of greatness. You think you just had a whole meal from eating just one with my favorite being the Steak along with Broccoli and cheese,,,be sure to try the all.

Fantastic Pastys, however, if youre looking for friendly service; this place is NOT for you! If there was another local Pasty shop, we would not give this place our business. We would order from them much more frequently if it was not for their consistent "attitude". First time I thought perhaps she was just having a bad day; extremely rude during the phone ordering process and only slightly less during pick up. The husband?- equally as rude.....every single time we order. To sum it up; the Pastys are highly recommended if you can stomach the staff/ owners.

Pasties are a family tradition since my mother and grandmother from the Ishpeming / Neggaunee area of the Upper Peninsula have been making them their whole lives. Now that they are departed from this life I turn to "The Pasty Shop" for what are the closest in taste and form to those pasties I have come accustomed to for more than sixty years. I highly recommend these pasties as being the best you will find not only in lower Michigan but also better than any I have had in years of visiting the U.P. These are not "hamburger pies" but are real "U.P. pasties".

@Stacy, perhaps it was you that had the attitde when you came into The Pasty Shop. I would love for you to tell me another place that caters to senior citizens by going out to their cars and taking their orders. Also, while youre at it, please tell me another place that says "its okay, catch us the next time" when you have forgotten your money or only have a credit card. Perhaps you need a reevalution, maybe it was you having the bad day, Stacy. I have had nothing sort of amazing food and service everytime Ive been into the Pasty Shop.

I give the food 5stars but the service 0stars so that averaged out to 3stars. The lady that served me was not friendly at all..its like she had an attitude. Customer service is extremely important, Ive done it for over 25 years. I will give this place one more chance and if I get the same funky attitude Im done! And will never go back and will post reviews on all blog sites and social media sites that I belong to, because there is no reason to act this way when patrons are giving you their cash and being friendly.

Absolutely amazing. They care about the food they are making and it shows. I have never gone in there and not left with a smile do to their friendly service and of course the amazing Pasty they create for me! Make sure you call in with at least a couple hours for custom orders though
