If I had written such a review a year ago, this would have been 5 stars. I have visited this restaurant at least once per month for over 2 years. Close to home, great soups, etc. Love the Cash Redemption offer they have when using their Friars card....BUT....the last 3 times I have visited for breakfast, service has been incredibly slow, and the food is not cooked as we requested (such as bacon well done, eggs over med). The last visit I made was Sunday Oct 2. We sat for no less than 10 minutes before I finally got up and asked a server for some coffee. There were 6 servers; the tables were not full; there was no line at the door. Two of the servers looked at each other in shock that we were even in the building. Then one of them came and took our order. I requested coffee with half hot chocolate. My husband requested coffee. My beverage arrived--COLD. The straight coffee was fine. She said "oh, the chocolate milk must have cooled it off"...hmm? Chocolate milk? Not hot chocolate? Please keep in mind I have ordered my "coffee" this way before. We then placed our breakfast orders. We waited 48 minutes, and no breakfast appeared. We poured our own refills on coffee. We finally gave up and left a $5 bill on the table and left. Let me reiterate that this is the third consecutive visit that the service has been TERRIBLE. Sorry ladies, but its the truth, and it takes 5 star food and portions down to a 3 for the overall restaurant.

Friar Tucks has wonderfully tasty burgers at half the price of the other burger locations in Carmel , even though they are a little greasy and maybe not the healthiest for you- but what red meat you is? They are delicious, with all of the fixings and a great value. A great place for someone on a tight budget in an expensive town. Relaxed atmosphere conducive to discussion. I really like this place .

I had a chance to eat there the other day, what a horrible meal. I ordered the patty melt. The patty was small, was not served on rye bread, it was made with american cheese not swiss and basically it was horrible. The worst sandwich I have ever eaten. I wish someone would have asked me how my meal was, I would have told them. I wont waste my time by eating there again.

My family and I eat here several times a month and have never been disappointed. The food is always terrific and the selection of soups is overwhelming. Sometimes the waitstaff is a little slow, but thats because thats what happens when you get packed. They also have a healthy menu that you cant even tell its healthy.

Im kinda done going here, kinda sad because I really like the owners. But when they are not there others run their business. Not sure Im going back.. and if I do its going to be a while so they say... Wow.... Havent seen you in a while . Its just not the same.. the cooks change and it can change everything...

Ive been eating here since it was the old name. Great food. Great service. I have never seen anyone have problems like the hot coffee/chocolate guy. The wait staff is always circling the tables. The food is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner... Even Breakfast for Dinner!

Amazing soup selection here! I joined their Friars Club for free and earn rewards for every visit I make. They start you out with a few bucks on your card, and for your birthday add $8! The Sammy Davis Sliders are really good and the fries are nice, hot and crispy!

Food is great. The portion sizes are very generous. I visited on New years day. They were crowded, yet my waitress was great. It seemed as if everything was flowing well in the restaurant. They have great baked goods as well. Prices are affordable.

I wasnt really blown away by anything here. I didnt order baked items (They did look good!) the restaurant portion was so-so. If someone asked me to meet them here, id go. Id probably not make the effort otherwise.

Our familys go to restaurant; all homemade dishes and bake goods, even for the diabetics. Great service, food, prices and love your carry-outs. Thanks for sticking it out through the tough times!

Friars is one of the best family type restaurants Ive ever been to. So good, and very good bakery especially for those watching their weight - they have low fat and weight watchers menu too!

Very good service. Breakfast was good. Do not believe menu prices on this site. Senior menu about a $1.50 more. When I pointed it out, the waitress said yes they need to be updated
