Dont be fooled by the drab exterior or lowkey décor inside-- this place is an absolute gem. I have eaten here several times (different dishes each time) and never been disappointed. The prices are cheap for reasonably large portions; I almost always take home leftovers. There is an interesting mix of Thai, Burmese, and Vietnamese options on the menu. There is both a picture menu and a text menu, which is cool. I *highly* recommend the pickled tea leaf salad! They also have a variety of tasty smoothies. Since this place has become more and more popular, you can count on a longer wait during busy times (i.e. lunch rush). I wouldnt go here if youre in a hurry, but this is a brilliant place to go for lunch. p.s. If you ask for mild, medium, spicy-- youre gonna get it. Regardless of what level you request for your food, they almost always bring a small side of chili & oil and there are hot sauces on the tables, too.

The food is absolutely delicious! Every single dish is amazing! Even my children like it there and they rarely like any restaurant. Their favorite dishes are Maggi soup (chicken) and Garlic Chicken (mild). I get the green tea leaf bean salad with every meal I order. I drink the "Kill the Cold" tea only when I am feeling under the weather and it really makes me feel much better. The staff is polite and courteous and my entire family love the family friendly atmosphere.

A humble, no-frills family-run restaurant with stellar food! Even when you order Pad Thai by takeout, they put effort into the presentation. I was first introduced to Thai food as a teen in NYC and the bar was set high for quality ingredients, flavor, and presentation. Since returning to Michigan 13 years ago, this is the first restaurant that comes close to what I was accustomed to back East. (The only dish l need and can rarely get locally is Sticky Rice!)

We read the reviews and decided to try it. Well...the 5 stars are absolutely right! The foid is quite wonderful. And they have a photo album with pictures that are numbered with corresponding menu descroption and price. And pictures were not embellished. My nephew and i spent 2 hours catching up and the staff were ok with us chatting after our dinner; no pressure to hurry up. I also liked the eclectic mix of diners.

Best Asian dining in Lansing Area, hands down. The location isnt the greatest and the restaurant may be small but the food is amazing, especially considering the price. Most dishes are under $6, so it is not a big deal to get appetizers as well. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They will custom prepare any dish as well if you ask, which is great for people following vegetarian, vegan, or Halal diets.

The food at this place is so incredibly flavorful! Lots of unique food experiences like the pickled tea leaves and beans salad, the fried bottle gourd with an incredible dipping sauce, and THE BEST FRIED RICE I have ever had. Very veg friendly, they let you sub tofu for most of the dishes. Highly recommend trying out this hole in the wall!

Everything Ive tried here is excellent! The pad Thai is some of the best pad Thai in the country. My personal favorite is the chicken curry with roti and fish curry soup (only available Friday and Saturday). Flavor explodes in every bite that you take! Incredible food that is made by a hard working mother. The food takes you to Burma.

Went with a group and ordered many many items...favorites were the Coconut Curry soup, Maggie noodles, pucked tea bean salad, garlic chicken, pad thai, and interesting drinks, to mention a few. The prices were very low and the food was absolutely phenomenal. It is a hard place to spot...the tattoo parlor is really easy to see.

Excellent food. Decent prices. I have never had a bad dish here. If you can get beyond the outdated decor and have patience to wait for a homemade authentic meal to be cooked fresh then you will love this hidden gem! My favorite so far is the Burmese pickled tea leaf and bean salad. The Maggi soup is a meal in itself as well.

I went here for the first time the other week on a whim, being in the area, and was almost turned off by the neighborhood and exterior. The food, however, is extremely good - this is easily one of the best restaurants Ive eaten at in Lansing/East Lansing, and certainly the most affordable in its class.

I really like going to Chou Pli because the food is prepared fresh daily and it is delicious and healthy, and a great value too. I have had Middle Eastern in Dearborn and this is better. Take-out is super fast. All the sides are delish! You can choose your main dish and 3 sides for under $10

Best local eats, absolutely legit Indo/Burmese/Thai food. Food like this is hard to find in Lansing--a must for foodies. Price is also amazing. Go for the food, not the interior! Can get quite busy since the word has been out, and service is just the one person so be prepared to wait.

Good food, bad service. Took ten minutes to have our order taken, waiter was at our table exactly twice, and it took more than twenty minutes to get someone to let us pay our bill. Id say just stick to takeout, but even that would require dealing with their severe lack of staff.

A real hidden gem in Lansing. If youre looking for something really delicious and actually different, this place is great. Really casual, unassuming exterior, but the food is terrific. Highly recommend the tea pickled leaves salad, fried bottle gourds and Thai larb salad.

Charming staff, delicious food, great prices. One of my favorite restaurants. Super casual, no free water, and parking lot is kind of scary... but it is a hidden gem. Fresh, traditional, and feels like you are in someones home kitchen, being treated like a real guest.

If you are looking for authentic Southeast Asian food prepared with care this is where you go. I go for the food not for fancy furniture. If you want fake Americanized Asian food and fancy food at high prices dont go here and keep going to PF Changs.

I have been there multiple times with my in-laws. The food is very tasty and the owners are very friendly. On occasion they have prepared a dish for us for free to try, very generous people, I hope they have years of success here in Lansing.

“Great atmosphere, great steak, great dining experience” Great atmosphere, very nice restaurant, steaks are excellent, service is exceptional. Would recommend Capital Prime for night out with your spouse or a gathering with friends.

Dont let the looks of this strip mall fool you. The food is great and the prices are even better. The owners are always there and always polite. Personally my favorite is the Curry Beef. If you havent tried it you got to.

Very good food, seemed very authentic. Spring Rolls were especially delicious. There were some ingredients used that seemed very authentic, like lemon grass for example. Service was nice, prices were very reasonable.
