Dont know what ALL CAPS TIM is talking about. Dined in w/ my significant other, had Edamame and Curry Pastries as appetizers, sushi heavy in eel and Pad See-Ew. The Edamame and the Pad See-Ew was easily the best Ive ever had. The sushi was of average quality for a dedicated sushi bar, I wouldnt drive past 3 other places to get to it just for the sushi, but nor would I drive past it to go to another sushi place. The curry pastries were new for me, but they were delicious nonetheless. Hugely generous portions (I can vouch for the fact they reheat well), reasonable prices, and attentive service completed the experience. I will be going back VERY soon, and will return shortly afterward, if my next experience matches my first. As an aside, if you dont like cream cheese in your sushi (I dont, nor does my significant other except on rare occasions), why would you order sushi which contains cream cheese? Or did you not, and does it offend you that they cater to people with a variety of tastes?

BEING A PERSON THAT HAS EATEN THAI AND SUSHI FOR A SEVERAL YEARS NOW I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS IS POSSIBLY ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I HAVE EVER EATEN EITHER. LIVING LOCALLY I WAS HAPPY TO SEE THAT A NEW THAI RESTURANT WAS OPENING AND WAS EXCITED TO TRY IT. TO START OFF THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE AND THE WOMAN WHO TOOK THE CARRY OUT ORDER WAS VERY IMPATIENT AND ACTUALLY HUNG UP ON ME BEFORE GIVING ME A TIME OR TOTAL, SHE DIDNT EVEN ASK FOR MY NAME OR NUMBER! I ORDERED PAD SEE EW WHICH SHOULD BE A "THICK" RICE NOODLE AND IT CAME WITH NOODLES THAT LOOKED LIKE SPAGHETTI NOODLES. VERY DISSAPOINTING. THE SUSHI DIDNT TASTE FRESH AND THE ROLLS WERE MADE VERY AMERICANIZED BY ADDING THINGS LIKE CREAM CHEESE TO RIVER EEL. ITS CRAZY TO THINK THEY HAVE REMAINED OPEN AS LONG AS THEY HAVE. A FRIEND OF MINE EVEN HAD A ROCK IN HER CARRY OUT ORDER. VERY VERY POOR EXPIRENCE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING ANY WHERE OTHER THAN SALA THAI IF YOU ENJOY A TRADITIONAL THAI OR SUSHI EXPIRENCE!!!

This is, by far, one of the worst Thai restaurants Ive ever been to. Having been to Thailand a few times, I know what authentic Thai food should taste like. I dont expect perfection, but what we got was so unappetizing that we literally just got up and left. I had the chicken curry, a dish I happen to love. The ONLY taste in the dish was the red pepper they used to spice it up. Couldnt taste the curry at all. And it sort of smelled like an armpit. The only server in the place appeared to be the owner, a lady that seemed more annoyed that we were there than grateful. She wasnt busy, we were the only ones there. She was more concerned with her phone than she was us. As someone posted earlier, the place was decorated nicely. The prices charged were outrageous. Dinner for 2, with iced tea and pepsi and one spring roll a piece came out to over $35. I would absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Their menu said, prices subject to change without notice. Me and my friend kind of chuckled. But then the lady charged us double for the side order of rice (she wrote it on the bill). I kindly pointed out the price to her in the menu and questioned nicely about it, but after that she was a total B*TCH. She gave me a dirty look and scratched off the price and wrote the proper price without a word. She brought us our food, and (literally) threw our plates on the table without saying a word... gave us our bill without saying a word, we paid, and left without even a thank you from them. All that (truly) aside; the food was not very good, they serve packaged frozen meals and the chicken tastes aweful. Even being impartial to the rudeness, the food was not good, and i have been to thailand twice, as well as many american thai restaraunts. I thought they did a nice job decorating the place though.

First I just want to say I find it funny when a reviewer is on here chastising other reviews instead of just commenting on there own experience. Anyhow my friend and I ordered carry-out chicken stir fry, and pad Thai. two staple dishes at any Thai place. The portion was smaller the most Thai places i have ordered from. It was still filling but I have gotten as much as double from many other establishments. all though that really means very little to me. What matters most is the quality of the food, and this food was terrible. It seriously tasted like it came out of a box. No joke rice-a-roni is on par with there stir fried rice. I also tried my friends Pad Thai (wich he also was complaining was bad) and we both agreed it almost tasted microwaved.

I look forward to Friday evenings when I order my favorite, Chicken Pad Prik from Sala Thai. I order it "extra hot". It has a good amount of heat, but not "burn your face off hot". Great flavor. Everything tastes fresh. Great rice, I love the Brown Sauce. The portions are large. I can get Dinner and 2 Lunches from the Dinner portion. The prices are about par for what you get. My Daughter always orders Sushi. Being a Vegetarian she eats a lot of Sushi and says theirs is very good. She enjoys the Bagel Rolls. I travel for a living and eat Thai food all over the country, but Sala Thai is still my favorite.

Pretty place inside, but that is the extent of good things I can say. Very little flavor, and poor quality ingredients. Being the only table in the place at 8:30 on a Friday night should have been a clue that it is not a very good place. The service...abysmal, just rude. My husbands dish smelled just foul, like old seafood...and it was a chicken dish. We beat feet out of there under the guise of a family emergency, taking the remaining food to go, then promptly feeding it to the trash can outside. Disappointing.

Best place for Sushi in the area. Ive eaten here several times and the food is fresh, well prepared and presented. The service is efficient, attentive, pleasant and welcoming. If you get anything with their sweet brown sauce, try the Thai iced coffee. The flavors compliment eachother and the sweet cream takes the sting out of the spice without dulling your next bite.

Pricier than other Thai restaurants in the Auburn Hills / Lake Orion. This is a franchise from the original Sala Thai in Detroit or thats what I was told. The original Sala Thai gives you alot of food. But, this location does not. Always feeling wanting little bit more for the money. If this place was $1 or 2 cheaper, Id visit this place more often.

Thai is my life. I love Thai food and this place is one of the best. In lake Orion it is the best. The food has lots of flavor and its super spicy even on medium which is good. So be careful if you cant handle spice, dont get medium, but otherwise if you love spice they give it to you.

Awesome Thai, and so close to home!!! I have also been to Thailand, but for those who have been, you know US Thai is different so cant really compare. Medium is Hot. I LOVED IT!!! Food is very flavorful. And ready REALLY Quick!
