After 40 minutes the waitress came to us and stated they were very backed up in the kitchen and apologized. We didnt even have or appetizers yet which was deep fried green beans and dill pickles. She stated she would look into it. 20 minutes later she came back and stated they didnt have any smoked brisket, ribs and and smoked bacon left so we needed to order something else. Thats 3 out of 5 things that we ordered. She came back 15 minutes later to say they had no pulled pork. 15 minutes later we were told that they were being plated and should be out. We asked for our appetizers and 10 minutes later they showed up. At this time we should have realized something was up because there was a gathering of at least 6 waitress staring at the cooks waiting for food. I finally had enough and went looking for a manager, she finally came over to our table and apologized with excuses. She said she would check on our food and get back to us, I told her my daughter in-laws is 8 months pregnant and I am diabetic. 10 minutes later she came back and said it is almost done. I asked her how much longer and she couldnt tell me. So, we stood up and walked out with out anybody saying a thing and went to Jimmy Johns. We had to get some food quickly. My question is how can you run out of the main food that you are in business for. Not one manager came over to offer an apology the 2 hours we were waiting until I went looking for them. The 20 green beans we had were very good. The fried dill pickles were horrible. We drove a long ways to come to this place and was extremely disappointed. The owners need to seriously look at the managing of this restaurant on this day and find out what happened. 6-18-17

Given other recent reviews I was very concerned about visiting this restaurant at 7:00 on a Friday evening. Turns out those concerns were, unfortunately, portentous. When we arrived the wait was quoted as 35 minutes. It being cold out I asked if we could be seated faster outside, and we immediately were. It took so very long for our waitress to greet us that we set a timer to leave if she did not arrive within five minutes. She just beat that timer. Once she was with us her service was kind and prompt. I suspect she had no idea people were seated outside! This was an oversight of the hostess staff, to be sure. The food didnt take terribly long to arrive but it was not good at all. I ordered a half chicken with rub. It was old and tough. It tasted as if had perhaps been microwaved at one point. Along with this I had Brussels sprouts, which were very undercooked, and Mac and cheese that could also use some improvement. One of my kids got asparagus, which was beyond reproach, and simply excellent. My husband choose brisket, also tough and sub-par, and collard greens which were "ok, but also a little under done". Not worth the time or money.

I went here for the first time for lunch on a Sunday. We sat on the left side of the restaurant where you could see part of the kitchen. Our server showed minimal interest in our table, although she was polite. She was also tending to another table who was pretty rowdy, which i think was very distracting to her. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, which was pretty dry..but tasted ok. After eating and while waiting for the bill, i could see a particular cook who would grab his drink and scratched his face multiple times all while wearing gloves that was used to prepare food. I have to say while everyone was friendly, it was really gross to see that.

The brisket is very good, however the rest of the food there does not impress. The ribs dont only lack flavor they are also dry. The salads are over priced for the small portion that comes out to you. We also received a dirty plate. It was just a dissapointment because my dad has done nothing but brag about this place. So when me and my sister and dad all final got together we wanteed to have a great night. Although I can not show any hate towards the staff. They did the best they could to make up for the slack of the food. However if you are looking for a brisket this is the place to go to. Also the smoked bacon was absolutely delicious.

We have been going to Lockharts for quite awhile now (this location along with Royal Oak) and the food has always been consistent and delicious. We went the other night and the server we had gave us one of the best experiences weve ever had there, I think her name was Alec. She actually brought us the spicey pickles, asked me if i wanted lean or marbled brisket, they were out of lean but she offered to bring me something else throughout the meal. She was very sweet and everything was wonderful. We will continue to come back!

The service here is friendly, but it was still slow. We had a bigish group but it still took over 45 minutes to get our food (even though it wasnt busy). That would have been okay if the food was good... The sides were great, but the brisket was sub-par. Half of it had a nice smoke bark and was tender but the other half was tough and not that great. Also, their sauces are gross. All of them have too much molasses and the "Carolina Gold" had way too much mustard. However, the atmosphere is a plus.

One of my favorite spots to have a beer and enjoy some great food and great people. Ive had BBQ from all over the US from Texas to Eastern NC BBQ and Lockharts is solid. Good portion sizes, great flavor, great rotating beer selection, and awesome staff. They are always friendly and welcoming....its definitely my neighborhood "Cheers". I see other reviews that are less than favorable and I guess it comes down to personal preference....but Ive never had a bad experience.

Ive been to a lot of bbq places in Michigan and Florida. This is by far the worst Ive had. The food and service. It took over an hour to get our food, the portions were extremely small, (we split the 3 meat meal) it was more like an appetizer. The pulled pork and brisket were good though small but the ribs were cold and dried out. The garlic mash (potatos) were cold and no garlic! Too much money for too small portions and bad service. We wont be back!

Very nice atmosphere and friendly servers. I requested the pulled pork, Mac n cheese w/green beans. The mac n cheese was very good. The pulled pork was not shredded. Appeared more like the ends or scraps all piled up. Very dry, cold and difficult to cut and chew. This was my first and probably last time there so not a great first impression. Very disappointed because I very much enjoy pulled pork when I have eaten at other restaurants.

This is a toughy...the building itself is really nice. The rooftop patio is one of the nicest spots in Orion. The staff (at least for the 4 times Ive visited) has always been friendly and helpful. The BBQ....is average. The prices...seem high. With Stockyard and Bad Brads within 10 minutes from here its hard to recommend it for anything other than an expensive ($4 PBR Bottle) drink on the rooftop.
