Terrible customer service. I came in for a wedding consultation (which I had made an appointment for), I was given a sheet of paper, a set of photos, and 3 slices of cake. And then sat there for thirty minutes while all the employees were in the back or rearranging boxes. Im sorry, but this is not the way to treat someone who will drop $400 on your bakery. As I was leaving to walk out the door when one of the employees asked if I had any questions. I asked some, each with very short answers. I was never asked which cakes I liked, which flavors, my colors, etc. All the things a baker should be asking during a consultation. The cake slices were very disappointing as well. The actual cake was dry and crumbly, with way too much filling. The fruit fillings had a metallic tang to them, so I think it came from a can.

My family and I have enjoyed Boonzaaijer for years, so when my wife and I were looking for cakes for our wedding, we made sure to visit Boonzaaijer. Our wedding was in Traverse City and we transported the cakes ourselves. Thus, we opted not to have a big tiered wedding cake. Instead, we ordered sheet cake and a small, round, two-tiered cake that we could cut ceremoniously. To top it off, the wedding was on a Sunday, so we had to pick up the cakes two days in advance. Boonzaaijer was able to help us package the cakes in a way that they would transport well and stay fresh in a refrigerator for two days. Mission: accomplished! We would highly recommend this bakery to anyone, for any cake, for any occasion.

A Kalamazoo institution, they may have delicious cakes, but if you make an appointment for a wedding consultation, be prepared that you will not see their best side. If you want to try their cake, try ordering some for a birthday or other occasion. They will feed you the slices in the cooler that are dry. Not a good representation of their quality. Give them a chance, they really do make good cake, just dont give any time to consultations.

I an 53 years old and since I could eat cake it is all I WANTED for my BIRTHDAY is a Boonzaajer Birthday Cake. In the past they have been closed and on vacation during mine and my childrens birthday so I had to plan to purchase and Freeze a few cakes so that I could indulge!!!! HANDS DOWN !!! BEST BAKERY IN THE COUNTRY!! I have been all over the WORLD and no one can hold a candle to BOONZAAIER !

All my cakes come from Boonzaaijer Bakery. It is my favorite bakery of all times. Not only are the cakes beautiful but scrumptious as well. They all have pastries for those that only want a bite or larger one for those that really want to indulge. You just can go wrong with what ever you purchase from Boonzaaijers. Remember to call ahead if it is for a special occasion.

The cake is delicious and high quality! Ive been coming here for years, the only inconvenience being that they are closed all summer. Make sure you order cakes that are in season, or else you may get old/frozen cake (that has happened with me twice). The staff has never been particularly friendly, but as in any good bakery, there is a payoff.

This place is really great. The desserts are very good and the cakes are even better. All the staff here have always been very nice and patient with me. Also this bakery has never had a problem with doing last minute cakes for me. I go here every time Im in need of a cake. Im always surprised by how little I end up spending. Worth it.

This is the best Bakery I have ever been to. I just love their cakes. recently I ordered cake for my sons 3rd birthday and it was construction theme cake, we just took care of cake toppers. They did a Great job, it was delicious!! I am so glad we have such bakery in kalamazoo. Hats off to you guys.

The best cake Ive ever had, hands down. We ordered a red velvet cake with raspberry and Bavarian cream filling... outstanding. The frosting is firm and creamy, the cake exceptionally moist, the decoration lovely. And I love that you can go in and buy individual slices. Two thumbs up!

The staff was friendly, the confections reminded me of my childhood when I would run to the local bakery in our hamlet in Germany ahead of my family so the baker would give me free treats. The best part about being in the bakery was that it was too public for my father to beat me.

THE most delicious cakes you can find in Southwest Michigan!! Frostings and fillings are perfect and the texture of the cake is like velvet and the cakes themselves are just beautiful. We ALWAYS do a Boonzaaijer cake for family birthdays. :)

The Bavarian Cream filling is light and not too sweet. Cake is sold by the slice and the wedding cake decorations are limitless even though the photos on the website are sorely outdated.
