Im not sure why all the good reviews. Ate there today for lunch. Ive had Mexican all over the USA and this has to rate in the bottom 10 percent Ive ever had. Chips and Salsa? What you mean is chips and flavorless sauce in a squeeze bottle? Tasted horrible. The "Wet Sauce " on the burrito tasted like watered down Ketchup. The Taco plate I had was void of any flavor, I was surprised being a so called Authentic restaurant. The shells were nasty and the meat was the worst Ive ever had on a Taco. I was charged for every little thing we had , I wondered why they just didnt charge me extra for the napkin. One decent thing was the rice, it was OK. Service was good from the owners daughter in law. Dont waste your time and money here, try one of the other Mexican restaurants in town, the MUST be better. Sorry El Huarache, you need the address what it is your doing in your kitchen.

Theyre food is terrible, I had theyre enchiladas lunch plate, couldnt eat it, tested old not fresh. I wouldnt go back there. And would not recommend it to my worses enemy. My granddaughter had the same, and she couldnt eat it too. My wife ate hers, but too embarrass to tell them that she didnt like it. unfortunately we only took 1or2 bits of the food and told them that theyre food didnt test good or that something was wrong with it. And they didnt even offered to make it right, but yet still made us pay for it. Dont go there!!!!! to eat Mexican food. One of the worses places to eat Mexican food. Never never never again, 30 dollars down the drain. People dont spend your money there. You will be disappointed. 4.5 star no way more like .5 of star

El Huarache is hands down, one of the best Mexican places I have been to. Family owned, fresh food, HUGE portions, great service, and great prices! My dad and I recently tried this place out after seeing a few good yelp reviews, and we were amazed- and we do like our authentic Mexican food. The place is small, very plain looking, but dont let looks fool you! Order the Fajitas EL Huarche (steak, chicken, shrimp.. get it mild unless you can handle the heat!) and they also have a large selection of homemade paletas, in every flavor imaginable. My dad and sister both made a rule that we have to go there at least every two weeks (we dont live in Holland) You will not be disappointed!

Out of the many many mexican places to eat in holland, this one is the worst. Lunch menu is 9.00 a plate and you cant mix /match beef/chicken. Who wants to have 2 or 3 of the same thing. Shouldnt people be allowed a variety? so i ordered ala carte... Chips and salsa are not ot free like every other place. The salsa isnt even salsa! For a drink, 2 tacos, 1 gordita and rice /beans (at lunchtime) the bill came to 20.60! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? The taste of the food was good but the value stinks! Go elsewhere...... It will be a better meal at a better price. (and to use the restroom, you have to go outside to another door and walk through there kitchen) NO BUENO :(

When I used to live in Holland, we ate here all the time... I have sinced moved back to grand rapids... By far, some of the best Mexican food in all of West Mi... All of the bad reviews are from other Latin people, who own other restaurants, or work for them... When my family is ever near Holland, we make it a point to come visit... Sucks if there is a bunch of people because lack of seating, unless summer time, u can eat outside... Would b awesome if they had a liquor license to drink it down with a Corona, but seriously, the food is amazing... Authentic, great portions, and highly inexpensive... I ❤ this place!!!

I love this place. I am not a huge mexican food fan but I crave this place. Perhaps I have not been having the right mexican food in my 41 years. Fresh, real, honest food. AND we can bring our dog to the outdoor patio. We have her in a dog stroller but it is what brought us to the restaurant to begin with..being dog friendly...just keep your pet well mannered and clean up after Fido so we can continue to enjoy this restaurant. Incredible. Job well done, and dont forget the ice cream at the end!!!!!!!!!!! Look forward to returning, will plan our third trip really soon!

Really delicious and authentic food. Just keep track of how much your food costs. They dont give you a bill and they overcharged me by about $5. You need to pay attention of what they are asking you to pay. If you feel as if its too much, make sure to question it and ask to see your bill and what you ordered. Also, make sure you save room for the delightful homeade Popsicles. I had the oreo one and it was devine!!

*Mas tacos por favor!* If youre looking for handmade, from scratch, genuinely authentic Mexican food, youve arrived at El Huarache. I honestly havent had anything here thats disappointed. Yes, its cozy small and the seating is hard -it doesnt matter. Its a Mom & Pop Mexican restaurant done right. Before you leave, make sure to grab one of their 20+ Ice Cream Bars -la leche- because they are incredible!

Fantastic. We love this place. The huaraches are very good. The shredded chicken was loaded on and the toppings were superb. The huarache itself was very nicely filled with beans, not just spread on top as some others do. Authentic food and friendly staff make this place a must-try if you have not been there. Do not let this small building fool you, they are a big player in the Mexican food market.

I went to this restaurant paid 55.00 for 3 plates and was overcharged food isnt great. They have good service they charged me a 15.00 tip because we was a group of 5 and everyone paid for their food separately horrible experience. Nice people but to expensive for my taste your better off going to Qdoba they have way better food. Ask how much before ordering your food.

Just found this place recently and wow is it good! Went on a Sunday and it was so good we were back 2 days later for more. Very authentic food, great flavor and portion sizes. Would recommend the Enchiladas, Gordita, and the Alambres is really really good. As a bonus they have really great hand made ice cream treats! The Rice Pudding one is awesome.

Food was delicious. It took me a long time to decide to drive from GR to Holland to try this restaurant. With friends in Holland from out of state, we visited and made the decision then that, YES it is worth the drive. Quality of the food was very good. They have a huge Mexican Ice Cream Bar selection.
