Ive been a regular customer for most of my life. I cant give an opinion on the entire menu, as I only ever get General Tsos Chicken. Not that I havent tried anything else over the years, but nothing can compare to General Tsos. The General Tsos Chicken...well, let me put it this way. Its as if its a different species from the typical General Tsos you get at the typical Chinese joint. It is so ridiculously good that I just cant eat that dish anywhere else. I love the ambiance of the restaurant, as even when busy, it seems so quiet. The waitstaff could best be described as "studious," insofar that they will always ensure your needs are met while being incredibly unobtrusive. But make no mistake, especially for a regular like myself, they are quite capable of being friendly and generous, and the service time is second to none. The owner who typically always mans the front desk and takes takeout orders...hes not the warmest personality in the world, but he deserves a world of credit for maintaining such a wonderful restaurant in an area so dilapidated. And youll never feel anything other than completely safe there. They make sure of that. It is, quite simply, the best high-end Chinese food in the area.

went in and ordered take out General Tsos Chicken, Shrimp with Pea Pods and vegetables. The General Tsos was not even warm, only had a small amount of sauce in the bottom of the container, none on the breaded chicken and not enough in the bottom to spoon some on it. The breading was either soggy or hard...no medium ground. I called to complain about this and was told that this is what I should expect when I order a stir fried entrée and a deep fried entrée. They did not tell me this when I ordered. If you choose to order from this restaurant, check the temperature of each item and ask if the order you place has any special concerns....I will not go back!!!!

Ive been eating at this restaurant with my family since I was a little girl. Over 25 years. Ive always thought it was the best, and Ive never been disappointed! The sizzling rice soup is amazing, and incomparable. The crab cheese is the best Ive had. Chicken sizzling rice is my absolute favorite entree, and the Mongolian beef is a close second. My husband loves the General Tsos chicken, Orange chicken, and the szechuan combination. Ive never heard a complaint about this restaurant from anyone I know, and pretty much everyone I know has eaten there.

The worst Chinese food in Flint. If I could give negative stars I would. Spent $30 on complete garbage. The general taos chicken was chicken fingers with skimpy sauce, you couldnt even tell the beef was meat in the beef and broccoli. And for over 10$ a quart of food it should come with some kind of side like fried rice or egg rolls not one container of white rice. I dont know who they pay for these reviews but they are complete lies. Dont eat here.

Went as a group and we were seated at the table that was nice and round, but the food is very salty instead of flavorful. They didnt give enough rice for the table. There is no natural light nor was the decor inviting. The waiter was rude to my mother who has seriously allergies to mushrooms and he (the waiter) couldnt answer or suggest dishes that didnt have mushrooms, so if you have allergies I would NOT recommend this place.

This is my favorite restaurant anywhere around the flint area. They have a fantastic selection of microbrew beers and a great wine selection. The food is also amazing. My favorite dish is the salmon oscar. Salmon, crab cakes and hollandaise sauce. We also enjoy the oven baked Brie with pear sauce. You have to visit if you around the area.

Empress of China remains the highest quality Chinese food for miles and miles. It has character, atmosphere, and is a historical landmark. You cannot find better food, in this category anywhere else. If you are hesitant, dont be, go there and start a life-long live affair with this unique gem.

I went here on the advice of a co-worker. Was I ever disappointed! The worst Chinese food I have ever had. Chicken was dry and tough like it was left over from the day before. Shrimp was mushy. I paid 40+$ for a meal that was terrible. I will never go there again. Thumbs down!

Excellent as always. The owner is the host and greets you at the door. We had 815pm reservations. We walked in at about 805 and our table was ready. Tonight was our Valentines dinner for my girlfriend and I. Excellent food. The service is outstanding. Im never disappointed.

Ive been eating at Empress for 20 years and have never once had a bad experience. The food is always delicious, great wait staff, delightful atmosphere. In fact, were eating there again tonight! Must add that it is most definitely NOT in a bad part of town!!

Traveled for work to Flint MI, this place close to our hotel. It is a open sitting, great atmosphere micro brewery/ restaurant. Ate late so only tried salads and soups both very good. Best of all was the large selection on beers they brewed on site, little pricey.

The food is very good, a bit pricey an Ive noticed they cut portions. The main guy at the front needs to stop an buy a personality. He greets the customers first, he should smile an be pleasant. Just rubs me wrong, some of the staff seems to be a bit happier.

Place was only about half full but the noise level was deafening. Prices seemed high. You could not converse with you table mate. Id rather not pay those kind of prices just to get a headache. Combination of sushi bar and steakhouse was very different.

I know everyones taste is different,but for me the sauce is far too sweet. Can not eat it. The bread is ok. The salad is good. I enjoy the bbq ribs here ,they are delicious, Place is clean,and servers are friendly. Nice place for an occasional dinner.

Service was good but the food was just okay. The sizzling beef was good and had a cool table side assembly and cooking demonstration but I was so disappointed with my Sizzling Duck because it was not even warm :-( ruined the whole thing for me.

We have frequented Italia Gardens since first moving to the area 16 years ago. They have the best ribs in the area, which my husband orders quite often. My favorite is the grilled sausage with rigatoni, and their other dishes are good too.

Done trying. Tried 5 times different days uf the week , different times of day, it is just poorly made... too much corn Starch in the sauces ... egg rolls.. had better ones mass produced out of freezer and microwaved sad sad sad
