Overall, this place used to be around 4 stars. Though I have been there many times before, this experience has really struck me as one of the worst experiences Ive had within a restaurant (and I also have worked within this industry). Me and my mother came in (on Mothers Day) and we were immediately sat. It did not seem overly busy or crowded during this time, but my experience would deem otherwise. Our server was nice but what happened next was quite memorable. We waited for around 30+ minutes for our food. During this wait (in which we happened to be seated by the registered located on the dining room floor), I heard many delightful conversations here, one of them being "Those two are IDIOTS!" When we finally received our food, my mother had the buffalo shrimp taco and stated it was not spicy at all and rather vinegary- so she didnt like it. I brought it to the servers attention and requested we get the regular shrimp taco, something we already knew she liked. She took the plate away (also to mention, with only one bite taken) and came out with the other one shortly after. The bill arrived later on and indicated that we were charged for the buffalo shrimp taco (that was taken away from us, that we didnt want, that we didnt like, that we at very little of) AS WELL AS the new taco. Id frankly never heard of being charged in a restaurant for something we didnt like/want, but here it was. When I brought it up with our server, she seemed shocked that I didnt want to be charged for something we didnt eat, then proceeded to make me feel awkward/embarrassed about asking, leading me to say "I guess you dont have to take it off..." with her then following up asking, "Are you sure?" Being quite flustered at this point, because of the mixed responses I was getting, I did indicate that I wanted it taken off- and it was. I assumed a manager would have come over at some point in the night and said something about the remake of the food or the removal of the charge of the food (since he had to take it off the bill himself) but he did not come over, to which I can understand that he can be very busy. The final part was as I was leaving, I looked right at the two hostesses working and said "Bye!" and was ignored, noting that they were distracted looking to see what tables are open. That part was almost flooring to me, as it ended my already sour experience on a worse note. Will not be returning soon.

The food here is good (when and if you get it), however the service ruins it. Weve had bad service here before but generally I try to be patient and understanding. Usually its just waitstaff who seem distracted or disinterested but the final straw was the night my girlfriend and I visited. The waitress took our order, which was very simple; fajitas for two and a couple sodas. The place was moderately full and when she came back she only brought us half our food and two tortillas between the both of us. We waited and waited for her to come back so we could explain you cant really eat fajitas with only a tortilla per person, but she never came back. No refills on drinks or asking if we were doing ok. Finally a different server came by and brought us refills on drinks without asking first if we needed anything. I told him the issue and he said he would take care of it. Oddly enough our original waitress could still be seen working other tables. He never ended up coming back to our table. Besides being seated, staff didnt come to our table more than 3 times the whole time we were there. We never finished our meal and since no one ever brought us a bill we just put a $20 bill on the table, left and havent been back. After speaking with friends, several have had similar experiences. I then hear that they have had to fire several staff over the issue and a sting set up by the Fenton Police over serving underage minors alcohol. Why eat somewhere ran by rude people who are more interested in taking your money than making sure youre satisfied or at least old enough to drink? No thanks, we wont be coming back.

Drinks were good waitstaff was great, atmospere was fun (the only reasons i didnt give it one star), the food was far less than par. I guess i should of known from the start with stale chips (out of a bag) not the good greasy ones at most mexican joints. I ordered a pick 3 combo (tamale, pork burrito, and a chile relleno) and my date ordered a pick 2 combo (beef taco, and cheese enchilada). other then the food lacking any authentic flavor, my relleno (cheese filled deep fried poblano pepper) it was smothered with fried onions and pepper, making what should be crunchy like anything else battered and fried to a soggy disaster. The pork burrito was mostly zucchini (the zucchini wasnt listed in the menu with the pork) and lacked the traditional mexican pork flavor, and the tamale was rather bland and mostly shell. My dates crunchy beef taco which was the first thing she tried on her plate, it came out and was everything but crunchy, and her enchilada had a very bland cheese and a ton of onions. To top it off the over watered beans saturated everything on both of our plates. this was a very disappointing experience since we heard great things about Sagebrush of Fenton from co-workers and other acquaintances, and their good reviews on google and urbanspoon. Sad to say i wouldnt recommend anything but margaritas or beer from here, Id even pass up the free chips and salsa since you can find better quality at your local supermarket deli. Thank you for reading my honest experience and review.

I had not been here in quite awhile, but I was really craving it so we decided to make the hour drive. I ordered the Queso dip, Mexican Bean Dip and a bean tostada. The beans were cold on my tostada but otherwise fine, there was a short curly black hair in my Queso and the Bean Dip came out with no onions or enchilada sauce on it. It was basically a side order of refried beans and really lacking flavor. I decided not to complain about the cold beans or the hair, but I mentioned to the waitress that I thought they gave me a side order of beans instead of the dip in error. She brought the Manager over to our table. I have been in The customer service industry for 25 years and this was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had. Not once did she apologize or ask if I wanted something else and she came across as defensive and rude as she explained to me that this is just how they make it. She had a frown on her face the entire time and acted as though we were wasting her time then she walked off. Afterwards, our waitress was kind enough to offer to add some enchilada sauce and onions to it, but I declined. After finding the hair in my food, I no longer had an appetite. I fully expected this to be removed from our bill but when it came out it was on there. I decided it was not worth it and paid for it. However, This will be our last visit here.
