This place has gone downhill since my first several visits. Back in 2013 when I came home from school for the summer, Ive started to explore Downtown Detroit more. I first discovered this place because it sits on a corner, nowhere near the more popular restaurant/coffee shop areas in Detroit. Its right across the street from COBO, but not many shops are frequented in that area. Anyway, my first several visits there, I was blown away. The coffee and snacks werent that great, but the service was awesome. The baristas, young and older, were very nice and held a great conversation. If the shop wasnt busy, one would actually sit with you and just chat about anything. However, the past couple of years, not only has the coffee gone bad, but so has the service. People are less likely to talk, and are actually rude. In the mornings, theres a much older woman, and shes the worst. I stopped going for a while, but last week Ive decided to come back for a cup before work, and I left out contemplating the many things Ive wanted to say to the woman due to her attitude. Youre better off getting a coffee from 7-Eleven. Supporting those who clearly hate their jobs and people, is not my thing.

Can I give a negative rating? After running in the marathon in 40˚ weather we were chilly (and so were thousands of other runners and spectators - THOUSANDS of people who wanted to buy hot coffee!). Then we see the Bean Bar right on the corner like a beacon calling to us... we sprinted to the shop but they were closed. A record number of runners in downtown Detroit (19,000) plus tens of thousands of spectators and the only coffee shop around is CLOSED? Really? Really stupid!

well, two of the smoothies are good and drinkable but the lady/owner works by herself, she sort of rushes to make her smoothies and making them nearly impossible to drink. there is too much ice and stuff in the smoothie. its not blended enough, the smoothies are nearly impossible to drink with a regular straw.

closed on weekends..during Winter blast!!! it is literally 3 blocks away with thousands of people wandering around looking for good coffee aside from Starbucks inflated prices. owners missing opportunities.

Very relaxed place with good coffee and snacks that dont break the bank. Bathroom door needs a lock, which is a weird oversight.
