Utterly underwhelming in every regard. The staff was curt at best. I felt that my wife and I were a burden when the waitress wordlessly put a pitcher of water on the table. I hadnt even finished a glass yet. Minestrone soup (the only option) was eerily familiar to canned vegetable soup. Wifes Caesar salad was just Romaine, parmesan, and Italian dressing (it was clear!?). Pasta was lukewarm looked like it was dumped together and thrown in a microwave. Wife ate about 3 bites of hers. Only reason I finished mine is that It cost $12. If you are a self-respecting consumer you would do well to avoid this dump. If for some reason you think this place is decent save yourself the money and cook it at home. Could have fed a family of 4 on half of what I paid, and had a much nicer meal with a basic skill in cooking.

Absolutely horrible... Went there thinking it was gonna be some good italian food.. But a complete waste of money and time. First was canned minestrone soup (i didnt know what it was... Named "soup" in the menu).. Blazing hot so you know it was microwaved. My dads salad had two cucumbers with a few pieces of lettuce, one cherry tomato and two olives. Next was my pasta, which was a white plate with plain white noodles and a small amount of sauce that tasted more bland than frozen dollar store ragu sauce. I had to douce it in parmesan cheese to make it taste right. Dads "spinich raviolis" was just green raviolis with green cheese, no soinach. Bill came out to be 30 bucks of absolute horror. I might as well have eaten a stouffers frozen dinner, it would have tasted better.

I found this place a few years ago and we love it. I go there with my wife and daughter once a month or so and get pizza and salad. The free bread sticks are great and the pizza is as well. Im not sure what pizza the people ate that hated it, but they must be fake reviews from another restaurant. The decor is old, but it is what makes it so cool. It is a throwback and if you have an open mind and roll with it, all will be well. I guess I could go to Olive Garden and spend 70.00 and get bad food and be happy because the plates and decor was nice, but that is just not whats important. I have been to at least 60 different restaurants searching for great pizza, and this place is on the top 10 list.

An excellent Italian restaurant. Lets begin with the beverages: the water is some of the finest water Ive had in Berkley. Not only does one get a glass of water, but one receives an entire pitcher of this pure H2O. Next, the bread is something else. It is very fluffy and is accompanied by delicious parmesean cheese. Lastly, the main course was special. One acquires enough food for not only dinner, but a midnight snack, breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack the next day. All for the price of one meal! I had the pizza and it was a 9/10. A solid place to get down and dirty with good artwork on the wall and a friendly staff.

Omg..where to begin..decor..1967...my server was nice but 17...food was bland ..sauce from a jar...i had frozen boiled ravioli that was only edible because I dumped the ENTIRE jar of parmesan cheese on it.Im Italian ,so I know good sauce..my sons pasta was no better than chef boy r dee..from a can...my salad was just terrible..lettuce with blue cheese dressing from a bottle..what would Gordon Ramsey say ...just dreadful..I would not eat here again if it was free..worst 28 dollars Ive ever spent.

I love the pizza I love the salad I love the baked ravioli. I even love the cook Mike. What I cant stand is them closing early all the time. Its pretty ludicrous to advertise hours for a place to eat and never stay open until then. This isnt the first time or I wouldnt have commented because I love the food etc. Business practices need to get back in order or it appears the Ole Silas might be sinking it is not the type of business that should be closing early on a Monday

I have been going to Silas ever since i was little. I loved it! The spaghetti was perfect! The pizza was just like the traditional italian pizza. The antipasto salad with the homemade italian dressing hit home! haha. Im happy the building made small change. Nothing drastic. If it were to be drastic change... It wouldnt feel the same. I love looking at the murals while waiting for my food. My birthday has been celebrated at Sila two times and it has been an amazing experience!

Disappointed is the only word I can use to describe the changes taking place here. I used to get a carry out small antipasta salad at least every couple weeks, but as of late, the size has shrunk by at least a third and the toppings appear to be half what they used to be. The accompanying bread sticks have been reduced from 4 to 3. The price has gone up. Too bad because I always looked forward to this salad, but...

The staff was extremely rude and this would have ruined my experience normally, however...there was this one kid working in a blue hat that made my time worth while. He guaranteed that my food would be cooked perfectly and with love and boy was it. definitely coming back and requesting my food to be cooked by him. my rating is not for the restaurant but for that one handsome boy in the blue hat.

I went there with my boyfriend last week and will not be coming back. The restaurant is in serious need of an update. I ordered the chicken parmesan and found the chicken severely overcooked, way too much melted cheese, but I did like the flavor of the sauce. My boyfriend ordered the ribs and said that they were just OK. The server was very friendly.

Love SILAS! The best server here is Diane - she truly cares about her customers, interacts with them 1 on 1, very personable. Even when shes busy shes there for you. Always happy and smiling. Will for sure come back here and ask for Diane again. The place was very busy, the other waitresses werent so friendly but Diane made up for it!

Not the place it was, it was a staple of family dining enjoying good American sort of Italian inspired dishes such as pizza and salads. The pizza grease had added to the flavor and experience. But now pizza is dry and flavorless, salad is carry out fodder. Staff seemed to be very relaxed and social with each other.

This place is a total DUMP. The food is terrible. I ordered a meatball sub that was completely submerged in sauce....totally inedible. I also ordered a pizza that was like cardboard. I live right down the street and wouldnt eat here if I was starving to death.

Ate here yesterday and found the place interesting. Definitely not a chain and glad of that. Service was sarcastic and me and my friends loved it. The Lasagna was some of the best I ever had! Will be back to try another dish!

Been coming here since I was a little kid. Pizza is greasy and delicious. Bread sticks are buttery and covered in Parmesan. Salads are also quite good, and the service is always excellent.
