The decor is nice, as is the music. The food, on the other hand, was downright disgusting. The stuffed jalapenos were fine, although the plate came out with a ridiculously large "salad" garnish with lettuce that was questionable at best. My big peeve with this appetizer is that it came out with a plastic packet of ranch dressing on top of our food. They couldnt even put it on the side or in a cup? Really? Both of us got combination plates as our entrees and the plates came out so quickly (less than 5 minutes after ordering) and hot that theres absolutely no way they werent just taken out of a freezer and popped in the microwave. If I wanted food from a microwave then I would have bought myself a tv dinner for a quarter of the price. On top of that, my order was supposed to be beef and came out with chicken. The chicken was so dry it tasted like someone had just thrown a chicken breast in boiling water for like 3 hours. The burrito was not an actual burrito with rice, beans and veggies, but instead was identical to my enchilada (except for having slightly more dry chicken and being wrapped differently) and was slathered in cheese and a watery sauce. The tortilla on my enchilada was chewy and hard (and tasted stale!) around the edges and falling apart wet in the middle. My companions taco was, in her own words, "About half as good as one from Taco Bell" and the ground beef was completely flavorless. I expressed my concern to my waitress who got the manager. I found him to be rather rude. I told him the problems with our meals and he asked if I would like to order something else (without apologizing). I responded that I honestly would rather cut my losses and go someplace else for dinner. He said, "Fine well you dont have to pay for this." He then grabbed our plates and abruptly left. Never a single word of apology. All in all, good decor, horrible food and horrible treatment left me with a bad taste in my mouth and a queasy stomach. Based on this experience I would never recommend this place to anyone or return to it ever again.

Ate here the other night for the first time and it definitely wont be the last!!! Dont let the neon lights outside fool you, the inside is very nice and classy. The seating was pleasant, too. It didnt feel like we were crammed next to people even though we were in fact surrounded on all sides. For appetizers we got tortilla soup and tableside guacamole. They come over with a cart and make it fresh after asking your preference for spiciness. Hands down, the best guacamole Ive ever had, and I eat that stuff at every chance I get. They were accommodating of our special requests for our sons meal from the kids menu. My fiance ordered a Salmon dish and it was mouth-watering!! The only problem we had was that they brought out the wrong order for me. It seemed very much like an honest mistake, as the dish they brought out sounded in name very similar to the one I got. We did have to wait a while for a replacement but the waiter and atmosphere were so nice we did not mind. Pros: Overall the food was delicious and unique, the atmosphere was great, the staff was awesome. Cons: Menu had a few inaccuracies and received the wrong order.

Ive been to Plaza Azteca for several occasions & sometimes "just because." Every time, my boyfriend and I have had excellent experiences; service has been timely & polite, food was plentiful & delicious, drinks were familiarly "Mexican." Weve been to Mexico several times now and have subsequently become fans of their beer, "Sol," and the dish, Ceviche. The fact that they offer both of these (our favorites) already won them brownie-points, however, the ceviche was not their best dish, I must say. Though there are several "good" Mexican restaurants in & around Worcester, (as well as excellent restaurants in general), I must say the tableside fresh guacamole at Plaza Azteca has always drawn us back. Tonight we plan to go for their live music, which is another excellent feature offered on weekends. For the price, and given the fact that we eat large quantities without getting that "sick" feeling (as one might after frequenting one place or another), we will keep going back, for sure!!!!!!!!

So I went to this place: They claimed to be "Authentic Mexican" I ordered Churros and I received some ugly thick churros covered with strawberry jam. I asked for the manager and kindly asked him if he had ever seen churros like that. He said: This is how we make them. So I opened google pics and typed churros and told him that: If we get one picture of churros with strawberry jam on top, I will pay for them, otherwise not. After my argument, he started saying that it was rare and he never had anyone complaining about the churros. Anyway, THIS PLACE IN NO AUTHENTIC MEXICAN AS LONG AS THEIR DESSERT MENU HAS 5 TYPES OF CHEESECAKES AND THEIR SPECIAL DESSERT IS FRIED ICE-CREAM. If you are looking for mexican food, this is not the right place.

Plaza Azteca is my kind of Mexican Restaurant. The place is clean, and you mostly cant tell that it used to be a Bickfords. It doesnt have that bland rectangle feel anymore, so it is the lease soul-crushingly suburban restaurant in Lincoln Plaza. I like that place on Shrewsbury Street but it isnt the place to go and fill up with lots of spicy meats, beans, gooey melted cheeses, tortillas, and margaritas. It is a place to go to be seen, and eat dainy portions, which Im not generally inclined to do :) Margaritas are clearly a specialty at Plaza Azteca, but they have a full bar, too. Their Burrito San Jose is absurdly good. Also, they have Mariachis there which I appreciate more and more as you down more Margaritas.

The only reason I gave it two stars is for he greeting. The bar tender made a drink and Im not sure what was in it BUT it almost instantly made my stomach turn. Pretty sure the machine wasnt cleaned well because I frequently drink margaritas. When trying to explain to the manager that I shouldnt be charged $14 for a drink I drank 3 sips from he said its not them its me because their receipe is the same. So I was discounted half the price after having to debate it. The bar tender was rude and barley came to check on me and my guest and got even more upset once I said the drink was making my stomach hurt. I used to come every month or so but after tonight I will never return.

Sad to be leaving this review. Been coming here for years, and they have always been accommodating with good food. Today, showed up at 1:45, maybe a dozen people in the place. Wanted nachos and my husband ordered a lunch plate. I ordered the omg nachos, and we waited 30 minutes. Plates came out searing hot, and the 12 dollar nachos were 7 chips covered in meat....not nachos. They took, them away and served us regular nachos, but acted like it was our fault their food didnt match the description. Nachos that did come out were super watery, probably because of the mound if iceberg lettuce and mushy meat. Coupled with other menu changes, we wont be rushing back.

Food wise this place is okay not terrible but nothing to write home about. I will say the food took forever...why I have no idea. Beware of the margaritas they are the only item that has no price or ingredients and they have a good reason - They Are Thieves!! $13.99 for a "Crazy Margarita" that I honestly do not know whats inside but my server promised it was top shelf liquor - but who knows. I let them know that The Cheesecake Factory was sued for the same thing and lost because it is illegal to not provide prices to consumers first. I will be putting in a complaint to the Attorney General so keep your receipts folks.
