Stated succinctly, on the evening of Saturday, 3/I5/14 our four person dining party was not only immensely disappointed, but aggravated by our experience at Stellina in Watertown and we will not return there. We selected Stellina based on many positive online reviews and secured a 6:30pm reservation for our party of four. Two of the party arrived slightly early and were seated immediately. Unfortunately the seating was at a small cocktail table in the bar area. With the serving of only drinks and appetizers it became abundantly clear the seating was grossly inadequate for a foursome. Why we were placed at that table is unclear since there were empty tables in other sections of the restaurant. In retrospect we should have inquired about a change, but being unfamiliar with the restaurant we didn’t. We did inquire with the hostess as we were leaving later whether it was a particularly busy evening and the response was no. The seating was not the sole nor worst source of our aggravation however. The “worst” distinction goes to our waitress, named Laurie. It may have been because of orders by the restaurant management that she clearly sought to rush us through our meal and on our way. We felt pushed to be finished in less than an hour. And throughout there were numerous botches in service: Two cocktails took an extraordinarily long time to be served though the bartenders (which we could observe 10ft. away) did not seem overly taxed with drink orders while they chatted with patrons at the bar; Bread was not delivered to the table until well after the cocktails and appetizers; Laurie disrespected the ladies in our party by not taking their entrée order before taking that of the men in the party; Entrees were brought before we had half finished with the appetizer; Plates were served and cleared by reaching across in front of another diner; Plates were cleared before all in the party had finished eating; And Laurie hovered repeatedly, looking for payment, after delivering the check even though we were still enjoying our after-dinner coffee and dessert. With regard to the food, it was fairly good… but not nearly good enough to justify the prices. And portioning was uneven. While two of our entrees were sized as would be expected, two others were noticeably less. Had I dug deeper into the reviews before our visit, as I did do afterwards, we might not have gone to Stellina. Those reviews that commented on the “tired” décor and over-pricing were spot on.

I have never posted a comment before about any restaurant but the food we had at Stallinas was terrible. The meal I ordered had risotto and it was wet and soupy and the shrimp was under cooked and raw! An italian restaurant that cant make risotto properly, forget about it! Even the seasoning was bland and awful. My wife ordered a pasta plate that was not very good either. The pasta was cooked perfectly but the sauce was terrible as well. Definitely way overpriced for what it is and our waitress was very weird, not getting into that though. The atmosphere is nice but a little to dark. I will never go back to Stallinas or recommend it to anyone in town.

We dined here for the second time last weekend, and its simply delicious. There were five of us, and we did a great job of sampling many things on the menu (beet ravioli, calamari, mahi mahi, beef tenderloin, the pear salad, the "della nonna" ravioli and quite a few of the desserts). Everything was delectable. My mother and sister were visiting from CT, and every time Ive talked to my mother since last Sat., weve talked about how yummy everything was, and how we cant wait to go back. I would very highly recommend this restaurant!

This place is the BOMB!!!! No but really.... Seriously good chef in the kitchen here people. The food is priced fairly, but not cheap. The wine however is a bit on the pricey side. I am willing to over look that. I would love if they would add an ultra-low-calorie menu! And some non-pasta versions of pasta dishes would be nice. My wife has told me that her favorite meal is Stellinas Vodke Penne with Shrimp.

STELLINA IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE RESTAURANTS BECAUSE THEY OFFER AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE WITH THEIR OWN TWIST AT A PRICE THAT DOESNT KEEP YOU FROM GOING WEEK AFTER WEEK. MANY OF THE SERVERS HAVE BEEN WORKING THERE FOR 10 YEARS OR MORE. THE FAMILY THAT RUNS STELLINA REALLY CARES FOR THE PATRONS AS WELL AS THE SERVING STAFF. ITS A FEEL GOOD PLACE TO GO. IT FEELS A LOT LIKE MANY TRATTORIAS IN ITALY.

Terrible experience! 2 mid-twenty- somethings... They took our IDs for 30 minutes to "verify" them, okd one US passport but not one out of state ID. Had been ready to spend BIG money on wine and food. Left because we were treated SO disrespectfully and spent our money at the talk. Terrible service, spoken to like children, ignored, embarrassed. Do NOT waste your time or money!!

Delicious soups and paninis. I have only been here for lunch, but it is usually pretty quiet. Ive walked by after work and seen the bar area packed, so hopefully theyll stick around! Good service, yummy food. Its kind of a hole in the wall place, though. Not great for large groups. Lunch is not cheap but good value for the quality. Most lunch dishes range from $9 - 15.

Stellinas restaurant is always consistant. I love the fresh Italian food here. I cant say I have every had a bad meal in this restaurant. It is a liitle upscale, so often I just go here with my husband for a date and leave the kids at home. It is a little romantic and secluded and you dont have to drive allthe way into Boston for a great Italian meal.

Weve never been disappointed with Stellina. Theres a lovely garden in the back when its warm enough, or you can go inside for a cozy rustic Italian setting. We always have a three course meal just to enjoy as much as possible. We also cant help ourselves but get the wild mushroom pasta (with truffle oil sauce!) nearly every time. Highly recommend.

We live in the area and are regulars to Stellina. We always have such a great experience there, the portions are perfect, the wine selection is great and the atmosphere is cozy. The best thing on the menu...warm tomato salad, at any time of the year, and the fig, goat cheese and chicken pasta in the summer!

Warm Tomato Salad Crab Risotto Cake Grilled Balsamic Pork These are favorites, but you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The menu and wine list change often. The food is fresh and delicious. Call ahead because they are busy - competes with Boston restaurants for sure.

A little gem! So glad the nearby chain restaurant was full. An exceptionally delicious meal in a warm, cozy atmosphere with excellent service, and the price was comparable to that nearby chain restaurant, too. A MUCH better value. Thanks so much!

Book Club reunion held here in April which turned out to be a wonderful event for twenty people. The private room was set up beautifully, the service was terrific and the meal delicious! We still rave about it! Thank you, Stellinas staff!
