at first glance and from some of the reviews, I went in looking for a great restaurant. On Sunday, I brought my wife and sister at 4pm I found a restaurant that is great at some things and not so great at others. nice hostess, she said hello as soon as we opened the door. they were on a wait but she said she could seat us in less than 15 minutes. the place is amazingly huge. I was a bit apprehensive if you can have an intamite dining expereince in such a large place. the hostess was correct on her quote. Fantastic, as many places the hostesses are off on their quotes. We were greeted quickly by a very nice server, nice man proffesional server. He rattled off the story and the specials, asked if we wanted bread and delivered it promptly as well as our drinks. We ordered the salumi display. Here is where the NOT like part starts. the salumi took 20 minutes. it was great when it got there but.... then we had a pasta course, very nice, we had the tortelli Brasatto, the meat was perfectly slow roasted. We also had the Cappellacci- again perfect pasta - the dish is a classic from Emilia Romagna, the only thing wrong with the dish is the cook did not saute the butter enough, it is supposed to have a brownish hue close to carmelizing. It is interesting that a"Tuscan " restaurant serves so many items from Emilia Romagna. those are two former Italian city states that do nnot like each other. BUT as with the first course, thses took alot longer than pasta should. we have now been there an hour. Entrees were the same story, great food - long wait. A manger never visited our table, the general manager was also there. I would have thought they would have more of a feel for what was going on in the dining room. We asked and the server said "This is the pace of the kitchen. It is the way the owner wants it" and then he asked if we would like to talk to either the manager or the GM. We declined. We did not bother with dessert as it was past 6pm and we needed to get my sister in law home for my nieces soccer game. We walked past the GM lady on the way out, I feel sorry for her, she looked exhausted. we made eye contact - no smile, no acknowlegment that we were leaving her restaurant. Over all the food is very good.. the server is nice. small issue with value. big issue with kitchen pace. I have an issue with management but it might be that the owner is pushing them to hard. We will come again, hopefully they will address the cook times and the managements appearance of not caring.

Delicious food, unfortunately we sat for 30 minutes, WITH A 3-YEAR-OLD TODDLER, at our table without a single server attending to us. The hostess seated us, and presumably gave our ticket to one of the many available waitstaff, but we did not actually receive any service from any of the numerous waitstaff milling about until my companion finally GOT UP FROM OUR TABLE AND HUNTED DOWN a server for attention. And, mind you, this was not a busy time -- furthest from it, actually -- about 3pm on a Tuesday, so theres zero excuse for being "overlooked". Of all the waitstaff in the restaurant upon our arrival, NONE would assume responsibility for this oversight, and instead they (the waitstaff that was working when we arrived) unloaded our ticket on a waitress who had JUST arrived, who had simply come into work early, and her co-workers literally saddled her with a corrupt table -- a corruption that they themselves caused. I was, and still am, disappointed in the handling of this event, having several years of restaurant service under my own belt, I admonish all those who were in attendance upon our arrival, and admire the poor girl who did have to serve us, as we were not in the best of spirits by then! The only saving grace for the entire outing was that the food was great.

I give the Tuscan Market 5 stars. I was like a kid in a candy store there. Very impressive. We brought and filled a cooler with lots of goodies. The Tuscan Kitchen however let us down a bit. The servers were outstanding, Melissa and JR. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. The problem was that we initially sat for just about over 15 minutes before anyone came over to us. I complained at the front desk and we finally received service. Im sure that does not happen all the time and the manager did give us free deserts. The Matradee with long dark hair had no personality AT ALL. She did not want to be there and really took the fun out of the air. She needs to be friendly and smile. After being on such a high after going to the Tuscan Market, this was sure a let down. As for the food, it is a pasta place. Great homemade pasta and sauces. The meat dishes however were terrible. The steak was overdone and hard to chew. No seasoning. The veal was hard to cut. You cannot taste the fresh vegetables that come with the veal since they are overly sugar candied. Didnt even know you were eating a carrot. We will be back to the market and cafe as often as possible, but next time I will order pasta for dinner at the Kitchen.

used to love the food, I think they are on a cost cutting path. i have been to Tuscan Kitchen 4 times, the first time the food ws amzing and as good as the food was the service was horrible. each time we go back the service gets better. tok my girl for valentines( the next day) and the service was very good. we went last wednesday and the service was fantastic. I mentionedit to the server and she said it was the new GM. "she was a server who thy promoted to manager then in February they promoted her to GM." wel the next place for er to work is the kitchen...she should either fire the new chef or teach him ctent quality. the food onwednesday was not "bad" but it wasnt good either. It was the first time that i have been there and thought that i overpaid. pasta wasnt cooked right, the drinks were not potent at all. not exactly watered down but... and oh my, the desserts were unfortunate. i love chocolate but my that cake was dull, drab and overcookd. we will go back one more time to see if they have fixed it. the other issue we found odd was there was no visable manager. no table visit like in the past. the server said that "one manager had just left and the other one was down stairs"

Very dissapointed. I have been looking forward to trying Tuscan Kitchen. Today my boyfriend and I came down from bike week laconia, I carried only my ID on me as my boyfriend was paying for our outing. After being sat I go to order my drink, the waitress asks for my ID, I happily give it to her. She gives it back to me and wanders off, five minutes later she comes back and asks for it again, saying that because its out of state her manager needs to see it, Fine, I hand it over again. Another 5 minutes pass and the waitress asks if i have anything else with my name on it. No, I do not. All I have is my legal state issued identification. Problem? Im from out of state. I was refused service for not having a New Hampshire license. Bummer on you Tuscan Kitchen, I will happily take my business elsewhere, To an establishment that has even half a brain to be able to verify a licence from another state.
