My husband and I went to the Red Wing Diner last Friday for dinner. He had been there years ago and said the food was good. We walked in, the hostess not only ignored us, but after 5 minutes of us standing there, we were finally acknowledged when a waitress came over and asked the hostess to seat us. There were no customers waiting to be seated. The waitress asked what we wanted to drink: I asked for two glasses of water. She brought one. When she came to take our order, I asked about a dish that was served at a table nearby, a portion of fish with breadcrumbs on it. She said it was the haddock florentine; I asked where it was on the menu; she stated it was not on the menu but was a special (gee, normally a food server will start off with a greeting and inform the guests of the specials of the day). We ordered two haddock florentine dinners. She returned with a basket with two little dinner rolls in it; I asked for extra napkins and reminded her to bring my husbands glass of water. After waiting for over 25 minutes and seeing everyone around us receive their orders (these were all people who arrived AFTER we did), I told my husband that I would check the time, and if we did not receive either the food or an explanation in 5 minutes, we would leave. The food server never once came over to check on us, and she still had not brought my husbands water. Four minutes later, she appeared with our dinners, still without the water. I asked her again for extra napkins and my husbands water. My husband and I agreed that the dinner looked great, and as we dug in, were extremely disappointed that it was barely warm. The cheese had melted and hardened, and cold fish doesnt taste too great. As we were famished, we ate it anyway. The food server finally brought my husbands water. It was not extremely busy, so I can only assume that the wait staff is careless and extremely comfortable. When we left, the hostess asked how we liked our meal. I told her that I would have enjoyed it if it were even slightly warm. She responded, "you should have told your server." I explained that it would have been hopeless, as our server never even came back to see if everything was all right. The portion was great, and Im sure it would have been tasty if it were served warm... would have been delicious if served hot! Anyway, dont waste your time or your money... people deserve better for their money.

Red Wing has the best pizza I have EVER had. Im not a big pizza fan, but I AM a BIG fan of THEIR pizza. My cousins live not far from there and my uncle would bring us pizza when I was babysitting. I was just a teen back then, and fell in love with that pizza! I never get pizza anywhere else, though I dont live nearby. I have to drive a 30-40 minutes to get there. AND, Im going there today! I buy 5 pizzas at a time and freeze them! Their prices are excellent and I have never known anyone to leave there hungry. Their food isnt gourmet, but its good home style cooking. Ive been going there since 1965, and STILL love their pizza!

I dont enjoy writing this, its not my intent to troll or write flame reviews, but... One star is being generous, the service was the only pleasant experience. I have never written a restaurant review before, but the first bite of this vile dish inspired me to warn anyone thinking about making the same mistake. I ordered steak tips with rice pilaf, and everyone at our table concurred...the taste was as if a cow shat in your mouth. It was unfit human consumption. Im not sure if the meat was bad, or if it was the special marinade. The lobster roll was decent, but I will never go here again.

i ordered fries and got mashed potatoes. they were wet and tasted like nothing. i also had the fried chicken. its the worst fried chicken ive ever had in my life. it was lacking of any sort of seasoning whatsoever and had a weird taste. for a side i got corn. the corn came out very discolored and very watery. i like to eat my corn, not drink it. the corn also lacked and sort of seasoning and everything that i ordered for a meal was terrible. the person i was with got a pizza but they didnt put onion on it even though he asked for it and he said the sauce was lacking seasoning. terribe food.

My Grandparents and my Parents used to take us here almost 50 years ago.. looks the same on the outside and a different paint color on the inside. But the food and the memories are the same as I remember. In a time where restaurants seem to come and go this place has stood the test of time. That says a lot about the character of this place. We started with the Irish Nachos... Really good... Then a Thanksgiving Turkey wrap and daily special Tuna wrap... Both were exceptional... Sorry I lost some of the pics I took ... Oh well I guess Ill have to go back again.

Went there for lunch the other day with two of my friends. One of my friends hadnt been there for 25 years . Two of us shared the seafood platter and the other a clam roll, which we were really looking forward to. Haddock had no taste and was disappointed in the clams. Well the next day the three of us ended up with diarrhea. One of the ladies said we paid $39 to get diarrhea. After I had spoken to a few people they said it has gone down hill. Needless to say we wont be going back there again.

My family and I went into the redwing on Sunday. We have been to the restaurant many times before, the food is unbelievable, however on this sunday I was disturbed to see two workers working out on the opposite side of the restaurant, this I found very unsanitary and in my mind very disrespectful considering we were not receiving adequate service, for this I will not be returning for a long time, which is unfortunate due to there severe decline in business

They leave the tarter sauce out on the tables in squeeze bottles, the first part came out clear.... yuck, dont eat the tarter sauce on the tables unless you want to risk being sick. Fried clams were a bit undercooked, ok but not that great, not much flavor, and cost 30 bucks for a plate. The "best fried clams"? Not even close, a place a mile away has better clams and the place is much nicer and cleaner.

Fish Chowder on Fridays, lobster bisque on Tuesdays, and clam chowder every day, all three are amazing. Warmed up Blueberry pie with ice cream for dessert is the best around. And if you have room for more, the fried clams, Fishermans Platter, scallops, are all first rate. Also the prime rib when its available. Friendly Quick Service, and good prices. I love this place. Ask for Linda, a stellar server.

Last time I was here was in the 90s and hoped to get back. I made it back there today and wasnt disappointed. The pub style pizza was outstanding and the wings were great also. I was too full to eat any fried foods but looking at others plates made my mouth water on a full stomach. I will continue to recommend this restaurant for the next 25 years to any of my friends traveling to the area.
