Service was fast, staff were friendly, and had a nice ambience. I ordered the Comets Cosmic Waffle. I didnt think it would be bad, as the description describes "our golden waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, strawberries, and whipped cream. I imagined a crispy, golden waffle with one (1) scoop of vanilla ice cream surrounded with a circle of whipped cream. What arrived in front of me was a diabetics death wish. A fluffy mountain of FIVE (5) fist-sized dollops of whipped cream, which underneath revealed a treasure-trove of FOUR (4) hearty scoops of vanilla ice cream, topping a soggy, dripping, oozy, not-golden waffle. It was smothered in (not even fresh! I came in summer! Strawberry season!) sour, mushy strawberries and syrup. I couldnt take more than three or four bites. However, I give Comets diner a 3-star because the food my family ordered looked and tasted delicious. My sister got Biscuits and Gravy, my dad got Country-Fried Steak (which was a special), and my mom got Steak and Eggs. All in all, I liked the restaurant, but just wasnt quite happy with MY meal. So I would recommend this diner, if youre craving that nice, pastel-y, 50s feel. Just dont get the Comets Cosmic Waffle.

Sadly, we have to scratch this place off our list for breakfast. Weve been going here for years but have watched it decline. The staff is wonderful but the food and conditions are horrible. Today I ordered the All American. The eggs and bacon were good but my bread was barely toasted and had only a little butter in the middle. The extra butter they give you is frozen so not usuable. The home fries are the worst and my biggest complaint. They are cold, burnt and definitely not fresh. I normally get there when they open so I have to assume they are left over from the day before? The cleanliness of the place is also a concern. Tables look clean but the bathrooms, walls and floors are very dirty and clearly not cleaned regularly. Sign over the sink says employees must wash their hands but container was out of soap. (Thankfully we carry santizer for when this happens). This used to be regular spot for us but no longer. I like when I see that some people enjoy their breakfasts as it gives me hope that they arent bad all of the time but today was one too many strikes for us.

Comets has become our go-to breakfast place. The food is great, eggs, bacon (well done), pancakes, toast, etc. The service is very good along with the prices. The interior is done up in like a 50d diner with tourquoise booths with a large triangle shaped design added. We discovered we actually like to sit at the long counter stools as well as the booths. Their food and service is better than the Country View Diner nearby. I think they use 1 egg for their omelettes. No kidding! Comets servings are large.Yes the weekends are busy but things go quickly. I do not understand the one bad review!!

I took my family of 5 there on a Thursday morning based upon the other reviews and I was not disappointed. The prices are good and the food was wonderful. Chunky Monkey pancakes, breakfast burrito, french toast, omelette, home fries, and hash browns. All of it was great! The kids, who are sometimes particular ate everything and were asking for seconds. Terrific breakfast spot with good service. Wll be back again soon!

Service is awful - prepare to WAIT. Perhaps order lunch, because it might be lunchtime by the time you get your food. Omelet was dry, light on the fixins, and the homefries were the worst Ive ever had. They were brown little cubes that looked heavily seasoned, but had NO flavor. Im not even sure how thats possible. Sorry Comets, but we tried it a few times and had a bad experience every time. We wont be back.

Always super friendly and cool staff, plus the best hashbrowns Ive ever had in my life. Fun, casual environment and great prices. Very authentic 50s style diner, complete with a jukebox and everything! Still a little bit hurt that they thought my boyfriend and I were just friends on Valentines Day, but they werent rude about it and it was more funny than anything.

There was a slight wait for a table but that is expected at 10am. On a Saturday morning. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the price was very reasonable actually maybe less then some other in the area! This is a must try !! Or you are missing out on a great start to your day...

Comets Is Awsome...I am from out of state and anytime I am traveling near this area, I make it a point to eat here. The service is top notch, and the food is out of this world. My hats off to the owner, Michael. He has created an atmosphere that makes you want to return.

Nice breakfast or lunch diner. Only had coffee and a breakfast sandwich but I was at the counter and witnessed a lot of big plates of eggs and pancakes. The lunch menu board had a number of great wraps and specials.

This has been our favorite breakfast spot for the past four years. Were moving out of state in a few weeks and will miss our breakfasts at Comets. Great atmosphere. Family friendly. Good prices and food!

Awesome waitresses! Best breakfast around the area. La Bamba Heuvos Rancheros are one of the best things to have...lots of "stuff" make it tough to finish. Short wait times.
