When the Paugus Diner went out of business and was taken over by new management I have to admit that I was concerned. The PD was a part of my life since an early age and I was extremely worried that things would go downhill. I am very pleased to report that the (to me) newly named Union Diner is every bit as good as its predecessor. Lunch and dinner are excellent, but I have to single out their breakfast as being one of the best in the area.

Cant say enough about how awesome the U is. Fabulous traditional American diner with real history. Friendly locals and travelers alike can dine from an extensive menu, breakfast through dinner. They serve alcohol and play classic rock. Waitstaff are attentive and friendly- what more can you ask for? If you are in the region, it is a dont miss, hands down- ROCK ON, U- we will miss you.

Unbelievable breakfast. Specials are different every time we go, but it almost doesnt matter because there are so many interesting choices on the menu. Their specialty meatloaf omelet is my favorite anywhere! The diner seats are a tight fit, but theres a dining room attached. Best food for the best price anywhere around.

Ate there last week during a quick trip to New Hampshire. Maple Walnut Brittle Pancakes were delicious! My mothers biscuit and sausage gravy was ok - gravy was a little different than southern style gravy, but theres LOTS of other options. Everything else was great! Wish they were here in the south!

Your basic diner food, but they nail it. They serve alcohol, mimosa with breakfast was nice. Smaller place so when its busy can be tricky to get a table when you walk right in but their super efficient so the wait is never that long. Always go when I stay in Laconia.

Great food, great staff, great value. This is a New England diner, Have the biscuits and gravy, with a bloody mary. Or have the pan seared in wine Hadock or whole bellied clams. Im going there for breakfast again today. From breakfast to cocktails, Enjoy!

The Fried haddock is great, very fresh and a more than ample serving only $9.95The Prime Rib is thick cut and tender and is a real value, 10 ounces for $12.95 I have been here for breakfast also, equally as good!

This was my first time here and I was not disappointed, steak tips were cooked perfectly and the helping size very generous. Coffee was very good and the wait staff prompt and attentive. Give it a try!
