1/18/2012 just got back from an amazing dinner in the barker tavern dining room!! first of all, the staff is incredibly nice, professional and make you feel very welcome. the chef does a fabulous job and the atmosphere is warm an charming with a few fireplaces going. the food was absolutely delicious! i had the oysters rockefeller (all yummy and cheesy), the jumbo shrimp (nice and fresh and large, perfectly cooked) , crab claws and clams casino. the appetizers were great. best of all was the wonderful baked stuffed lobster. it was cooked to perfection--very nice and juicy totally unlike the typical dried out ones that most restaurants serve. the lobster was very large and stuffed with delicious stuffing, large scallops and jumbo shrimp. it was served with asparagus, mini squash, mini zucchini and a mini carrot as well as a twice stuffed potato. it came with decoratively cut lemons and plenty of butter. this was by far the best baked stuffed lobster i have had (this was much better than summer shack, isaacs or anyplace for that matter). i loved it. the also send you off with a lovely piece of chocolate almond bark which is such a nice touch. what a great place! cannot wait to go back for another lobster. i left as stuffed as my lobster was and happy as a clam!!! thanks!

The Barker Tavern is one of the most fun wedding venues in the Boston area! We especially enjoyed the wonderful food and views! I highly recommend this venue for anyone getting married on Bostons South Shore. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Rockland, which was only a few minutes away... They offer a discounted "Barker Tavern" group discount. What a fantastic weekend!

Barker Tavern is certainly in the upper crust of restaurants Ive visited during my years in New England. With most main courses priced under $30, good service and great historic atmosphere it is most certainly a place to consider for a good meal. If you have a car, that is, as it is located off the beaten tracks if you relying on public transportation to get around.

We arrived without reservations and were directed to the tavern in back for more pub-style fare. A bit cramped and packed for a Tuesday night, though all seemed to be local. Once seated, the wait staff was very polite and attentive. The ingredients were fresh and well prepared, presentation was nice.

We were up here for a vacation from Los Angeles. The food and drinks were top notch. If you can get Patrick as a waiter, I highly recommend it. He was everything that a waiter in a nice restaurant should be and we were well taken care of. The caprese salad is where its at for a starter. Enjoy.

The Barker is top notch all the way around. I usually dine in the pub because Cathy and Colin are top notch servers. The food is always prepared fresh and everything is done the way you request. Always a constant which in Scituate can be hard to find

On our last trip we went to the pub for a drink while we waited for out to go food. We were able to sit at the bar. The service was excellent and our food was delicious when we got home. Great experience.

The Barker is a great spot for classic American fare. The Pub is especially great for its cozy atmosphere and great service. I highly recommend a weeknight out at the Pub.
