On Monday, 3/18/2013, I and a fellow attorney traveled to Edgartown on business. Our task ended at 1 p.m. and we were famished. Cold and hungry. we had been warned that the better restaurants would probably still be closed. We lurched down main street when, suddenly, this addictive aroma of grilled meat overwhelmed us and lured us into the Wharf Pub. We each ordered identically: A cup of Black Bean Soup which sent us into ecstasy. A thick stew with huge chunks of Kielbasa topped with a dollop of thick cream. One spoonful in, I said to my friend,"Either Im very hungry or this is the most delicious soup Ive ever tasted." Both parts of that statement were true. We wolfed it down in no time. There followed the most superb Angus beef cheeseburger, cooked to perfection (medium rare) and smothered in sensational, crispy, non-greasy french fries. The only "conversation" to be heard were the sounds of two men eating as if coming off a famine. "Scrumptious" falls short of the mark. It was a magnificent dining experience. Ive been to ultra-expensive steak houses and savaged a filet mignon but, I swear to you, NOTHING has ever compared to this succulent burger. No unpleasant aftertaste, just the comforting experience of having experienced a culinary masterpiece. If youre ever in the area, run, dont just walk to this oasis-in-the-desert, run. Run fast. Wow! What a wonderful experience. The restaurant is a gem. No b.s. P.S. The service was gracious and courteous.

I have a pretty large family and we had a reservation at 8 and our table was ready for us much earlier than w thought which was awesome!! It is both family friendly great for going out to catch up with friends. I have younger siblings that really enjoyed the selection of the kids menu and the adult menu also had may delicious sounding choices. I got the steak salad and I have to be honest I had never had this dish at any other restaurant so I have nothing to compare it to but it was extremely good!! My meat was cooked exactly the way I asked for it to be cooked. My dad and older sister got the lobster special and both seemed to enjoy it very much. All of our food came out very fast and looking around at the full restaurant I could only see smiles on peoples faces!! I really loved my experience here and I would like to go back the next time I visit the island!!!

WARNING! This restaurant does not identify peanuts or peanut butter in their dishes. The hummus in the veggie wrap unexpectedly contains peanut butter. A web search of more than 50 hummus recipies offers none that include peanut butter. After an afternoon in the emergency room, we were told it was our responsibility to inquire, not theirs to inform. We asked them to change their menu to that no one else with a peanut allergy suffer a reaction to their food.

After a day of walking around and touring the island, The Wharf was an excellent place to grab a bite to eat and something to drink. I realize its not hard to make a garden salad, but their salads and dressings were excellent! I had the lobster roll and it was very good. Our server was very friendly, and the food was very prompt. We would definitely return...I saw some food coming out of the kitchen on our way out that had me salivating!

At 3pm there was no crowd whatsoever. The restaurant was quite and cool. The chowder fries were AMAZING! We ended up getting a second order because we knew there wasnt anything like them back on the main land. I tried the fishermens platter, it was fried perfectly, not greesy whatsoever. The fish was fresh tasting and juicy. I also tried the rum punch, it was very tasty. Great relaxing place all around.

We recently enjoyed a great meal and awesome service at The Wharf as we celebrated a family birthday dinner for Nana/Mom. The food was terrific and the portions were generous and the waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating. I will be definitely recommending The Wharf to all my friends and be sure to visit again on my next MV visit.

I was strolling downtown and looked for a place for a late lunch -- The Wharf was highly rated and not expensive, so I popped in. Lizzie did a great job as waitress, being attentive and helpful. The clam chowder was excellent and the order of mussels was over-the top! I liked them a lot and will certainly return.

Good burger joint, but dont look for a culinary experience here with most of the entrees; the more complicated (expensive) have been a disappointment, so stick with the tried and true burgers or fish and chips! Can get fairly loud, and raucous on thrusday-Sunday with bands and karaoke starting about 9pm.

The sushi here is great. Service was okay but the environment right on the water made up for the slow service. Its a great place to grab some pre-dinner cocktails while watching the sunset. Also, in the busy season, theres never a dull crowd for people watching!

The food was excellent! Seafood and landlubber style alike. Cordial service including the Manager who happens to be the actor who played Alex Kintner (the kid who gets eaten by the shark on his raft) in the original "Jaws"!! A very nice experience overall.

Loved it. The blackened chicken was the best. It wasnt burnt, it wasnt "not done". The burger was good to. Definitely good for a quick bite if you dont want fancy. Beer menu sucks, wine list is good. Ill be back for sure.

Good but unimpressive food - restaurant ambiance was comfortable though generic. Service was excellent. The sort of place that works great if you just want food but isnt a destination in and of itself.

We started the day with a Bloody and cocktail here. Loved the bar, it was comforting and the bartender was friendly and helpful to those who are not locals. Definitely recommend it!

Folksy atmosphere. If you like sea food, try the Lobster In The Rough; oh man is it ever tasty! Order an extra lobster and theres enough for 2.
