Best chinese in the area. HANDS DOWN. Spent half my life in roslindale, the other half in west roxbury. Crab rangoons have actual chunks of crab in them. Go figure? oh they are good!! Just taste the meat in the fried rice. U can tell high quality meat, cooked right - tender and juicy. (I mean, sometimes, I dont even get a meat dish because there is plenty of meat in the beef fried rice, and they are like steak tip/strips, not like the tiny chunks of low quality meat u get at other places). This is a family of cooks that migrated here, and it shows they had experience back in China. It may be a few bucks more than other chinese places, but trust me it is worth it (and i mean only a few, like total order is $17 instead of $15). From dedham to JP to rosi, hyde park and westie. This place is number 1. U will never eat anywhere else again if you live in area. and they are good people P.S man i am telling you, trust me, even the thing they wrap the crab rangoons in, or the dough used for the dumplings is better quality than other chinese places, its like a fancy chinese restaurant but delivery!!!

Ordered from them on grub hub. Had ordered the efy combo with a spring roll and left a note for when they were out of spring rolls to have either Crab Rangoons or chicken fingers instead. I received my order and did not receive my spring roll or the alternative choices. When I called they said that I said I did not want a spring roll, chicken finger or crab Rangoon. I told them I understand that there may have been a miscommunication as I selected to have a spring roll. I did type too fast and forgot the if and said " no spring roll, crab raggon or, chicken finger please, but they could have contacted me if they were confused with the order." Terrible service, he would not even let me explain myself and talked over me. Would NEVER order from here again. Would give them 0 stars if I could. Food isnt even worth it. Waste of money.

We get delivery from Hong Kong 888 often. Recently they seem to have changed management and things are mostly better. Delivery is now very fast and always comes with a menu. Theyre also listed on Foodler now, making it much easier to order. The only problem with the changes is that theyve changed the recipe for their Szechuan String Beans, so theyre not as spicy as they used to be, which irks my husband. Not that hes stopped ordering them... Their veggies all seem fresh. Lo mein and spring rolls are better than average. Ive ordered a variety of dishes and I find myself sticking with the Cashew Chicken, Chicken with Black Beans, and Chicken with Scallions. These chicken dishes are great, fresh, very big servings. I always get leftovers out of it. I dont care much for the Sesame Chicken and other breaded/fried chicken dishes.

Ive been going to Hong Konk 888 since it opened. The original crew who opened it were awesome and made the best quality food (I give them 5+ stars)! Needless to say, since there have been some down times, but its looking like theyre on the rise as of late. I guess about a year ago a younger crew took over and didnt have any idea what they were doing or cooking. The food was terrible. Now, that phase has past and their back to making quality dishes. Its still not back to the originals, but its much closer. The older main cooks who used to be there made the best Szechuan chicken Ive ever had. Now its a new age popularized plate without the spice, but still very good. I would go back as long as theyre consistent. Im not sure what was going on there about a year back. In any case, best of luck to them.

Absolutely the best chinese food in Roslindale!! Food is always fresh and tasty. Great chicken lo mein and chow mein. Subgum pork fried rice is the best I ever had! Sliced beef used in many dishes is nicely cut thin and tender. Boneless ribs are awesome, crab rangoons are delicious and my kids especially love the scallion pancakes. I have never been disappointed with anything on the menu and dishes are a step above your typical chinese food restaurant. Customer service is second to none as staff has always been friendly, will substitute items when asked, will make dishes as spicy as you want, and have not charged when I asked for extra quantities on items like hot mustard or chow mein noodles. Delivery time is accurate and food pricing is an excellent value. This place is a must try!!

Ordered delivery, was very fast to arrive, but food was very dry. The Gen Gaus Chicken was not spicy at all, and did not taste sweet either, its like it was a halfassed sauce or something. rice was very dry. Chicken was pink meat, I prefer white meat. Not ordering from this place ever again, sorry.

I love this place. The cashew chicken is our favorite. Crab rangoon is a great buy. Sweet and sour chicken a special treat. Also liked the beef and broccoli. Seems fresh and not too greasy.
