Let me start by saying that the first time we visited this restaurant was Mothers Day and our experience was awful. They had a limited menu, that I wasnt made aware of when I made the reservation and they were out of several beers, several entrees (on an already limited menu) and bottled water. The waitress we had was very nice and tried her best to make our visit pleasant. I was very disappointed so I reached out to them and let them know about our experience. The Manager was understanding, apologetic and wanted us to give them another try so that they could make a better second impression. WOW. Our second visit was great. We had a reservation at 5:30 PM, for the same party of 9, and we were seated as soon as we got there. Our waitress took our drink order right away. They had an unbelievable beer selection (Sip of Sunshine AND Captains Daughter!). We ordered appetizers and every one was better than the last. The clam cakes and the calamari were my favorite. The calamari has a sweet sauce on the bottom with a spicy sauce on top, it was by far the best calamari I have ever had. The clam cakes with chourico were also really good. They werent greasy or too spicy, good balance. We also had the poutine, which was good, I am just not a fan of gravy and then the deviled eggs, which everyone seemed to like. The Cape Cod chips are crunchy in them which was different, but good. The waitress also provided us with cornbread, with whipped maple butter, which was just as good as the one we make at home. All of our entrees were spot on. I had a burger with pulled pork and an egg (no pork belly) and it was cooked perfectly. The French fries were fresh cut and very good! My daughter had her burger with Gluten Free bun, which was nice because not every restaurant serves them. The fish and chips was great, smaller portion of fish than expected but the quality made up for it. The salmon and sweet potatoes is a really good dish. I didnt eat the salmon, but my friend that did said it was delicious! The piece of salmon was huge. I did try the sweet potatoes and they were very sweet and so good! The pulled pork sandwiched were also huge. The pulled pork was juicy and tender. A few people ordered dessert in our party. The cookie sundae was really large, 3 teens ate it and didnt finish. The flourless chocolate cake came with a peanut butter whipped topping and was very good. The waitress and staff were very attentive. We always had drinks and when one of the appetizers didnt come out with the others, they were apologetic. I am glad I gave this place a second change because they definitely wowed me and the other 8 people in our party. If you are thinking about trying this place, definitely do. We will be back here.

This place is amazing! Get atmosphere, ample parking, Oh and it was packed on a Wednesday!! I went with my mom for dinner and we had a phenomenal server named Rob. He was friendly, always visible in case we needed him, welcoming, and great at answering all our questions! We couldnt decide what to eat so we decided to split a Pig Festa and an Alehouse Fish and Chip. It was so much food!! The fish and chip was crunchy, light, and cooked perfectly. It came with Sriracha tarter sauce which was unique and delicious! It looked like they did hand-cut fries on the side which were awesome. The Pig Festa was ridiculous... Ridiculously good! So much food! The pork belly, ribs, and pulled pork were so tender juicy, and delicious!! The Mac and cheese was deadly! The only negative thing I have to say is about the sickly sweet molasses BBQ sauce... It was gross. Rob told us next time we could probably substitute it for one of the wing sauces--either way, not a huge deal. My mom has been really into beer lately so she quizzed Rob on all the best beers. She ended up getting a flight. Im not a beer person but I tried all 4. The Weed beer (fairly certain thats what it was called) was Bourbon soaked and was actually pretty good! We ordered the Strawberry Fields Forevah for dessert. It was the perfect end--light and sweet. I was also very happy to see a Moscato DAsti on the menu! Its my favorite, but its overly sweet so not everyone likes it. I loved this wine! Everything was great from the food to the server to the bartender! We had about a 20min wait to be seated so we got drinks. My mom wasnt thrilled about her drink so they fixed it zero issues! I wanted something off the menu and she made it perfectly! I want to say the Bartenders name was Lindsey, but I could be wrong. This is definitely a place you need to try out!

1 Star for the Food which was OK and 1 Star for Katelyn who saved the day! If you are going to call yourself an alehouse you should probably employ a bar staff that actually wants to serve you...um... Ales. For some reason it appeared like no one felt like actually selling beers that day, especially the star tattood female bar tender working this place. For some reason she decided to just walk away and duck and hide the whole time rather than take an actual order and fill it. I am guessing when she heard FLIGHT it became a little too troublesome. Katelyn however stepped up and brought drinks over to our temporary table and also took care of us at the table we were sat down at as well. Great job! Perhaps you can teach your colleagues a thing or two?! Back to the stars. Decent food from the apps (Bacon Scallops as well as the Kale Soup were good) to the main courses (Had the Pig Festa and it was decent enough) and they also had a good selection of beers that included a few I havent tried yet (harder and harder to do these days). One last suggestion would be to separate out some of those TVs. Love my Sox, but you can alternate some Sportscenter or another game on some of those. Would love to give this place the 4 banger but if you call yourself an alehouse and make someone wait that long for a beer.... I mean you get pretty good margins on those right? Lets try and sell a few!

My first time at this new restaurant in Dartmouth, but it wont be the last. From the moment my husband and I arrived, the energy at Cask & Pig was electric. People were lined up waiting for their tables and the parking lot was full. Considering the place is 2 weeks new, we took this as a great sign. Once seated we were presented with delicious corn bread and maple butter while we made our choices. We started with the Arugula Pear Salad, which was beyond stellar. We agreed that it was the best salad either of us could remember having. For my entree, I ask the Chef to choose between the pork shank, pork chop and fish and chips. He let me know that the chop was his favorite. The portions could feed a small army at an incredibly reasonable price. The chop was perfectly prepared served atop delicious mashed sweet potatoes. As if that wasnt enough food, there were also crispy Brussel sprouts with (yum) bacon. I ended up taking half home because I couldnt manage another bite in my very satisfied belly. Service was warm and inviting. Reservations only available for parties of 6 or more, so I highly recommend making some friends and get a reservation!
