My wife and I had 8 PM reservations and we were immediately seated upon arrival. The waiter was excellent and reviewed the menu and wine pairings quickly and thoroughly. We opted to skip the appetizer and salad selections and go straight to the entree. I had the large Ribeye and my wife ordered their signature dish; a Prime Rib trio. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I have to honestly say that my steak was one of the best Ive ever eaten anywhere in the country. And as I travel weekly; Ive eaten many. My wife isnt much of a steak eater and to watch hers disappear from the plate was truly a silent compliment to the chef. The only parts we didnt finish were the side dishes which were huge! The dessert course held an unexpected treat with a bowl of free cotton candy. It had been many years since wed eaten that and we both were transported back mentally to our youth. The laughter we shared during that experience will never be forgotten. The manager stopped by briefly after we’d finished dessert and I complimented both he and the chef on providing such excellent food, service and atmosphere. Ill be coming to Boston quarterly going forward and Ill definitely be making reservations at Bokx 109 each trip! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Over priced mediocre at best food. Where to start, I tried their surf and turf and requested my steak medium rare. My steak came medium - medium well as there was no pink in the center. Lobster was good but the steak was terrible. Another night I ordered a Caesar salad with the half roasted chicken with red bliss potatoes, spinach, and thyme jus. The red bliss potatoes were absolutely the worst Ive ever had. They reminded me of the boxed dried scalloped potatoes you find in the supermarket pressed together and burned top and bottom. The salad was warm and tasted terrible, the chicken was simply okay. For what they charge you would mistake them for a 5 star restaurant however they are far from it. To make matters worse my food took nearly an hour to bring out! Avoid this place as Im sure you can find much better food a little outside of town.

First off, Im not one to write reviews nor am I picky - but our meal last night at Bokx was hands down the worst meal weve ever had. The dirty martinis - awful! Watered down and over priced! Wine by the glass - much too expensive. Calm Fritters - horrible. Think fried dough minus the powered sugar. And there was one tiny clam per golf-ball size fritter. Truffled potato tot - disgusted. They were fried soggy hash browns. NY Strip - thin, and underdone. Bar entertainment - much too loud for a Friday night. And the best part? When we complained to the manager on duty, he told us that he thought that Bokx was obviously "not our scene." Rude, but true. Bokx doesnt deserve a star, however Goolge is requiring me to leave one.

Been there about 6 times now. And I dont like reviewing without a real handle on it. Nothing is cheap or even inexpensive, but every steak and dish has been very good to great, and the lack of any resistance to any request (char the steak more while Medium rare, special sauces made, my lactose issue, my sons making his own pizza up) has been nothing short of spectacular. The wine list deserves special praise, though the older bottles are dwindling (or else I drank all the Dead Arm 04), as it is complete and well thought out. not to mention my son played tamborine with the band last time. The full house in the bar area on Tuesday evening speaks volumes for what has been done there. Bravo.

Im debating with myself how to rate this restaurant, on one end the Tenderloin Steak was superb , on the other hand I tried first the Flintstone steak, and the meat was bad (so much that I almost vomit just by smelling it) if it wasnt due to an event I would not stay and would not order something else, the steak was just rotten really!!! on top of that , you expect that if something like that happened (and several guests smelled it) the chef will come to apologize , but no nothing! so the chef to me should get 5 for steak flavor (well at least not good steak) , 0 for bedside manners , or care of his customers,

Our waitress was un-informed. She didnt take the time to explain the menu and had very little to offer when we asked questions. The appetizers were not good - calamari/shrimp was all vegetables and very few pieces of shrimp and calamari. The flatbread was boring and bland. We had the prime rib, which the waitress said was the house specialty - the medium was overcooked and dry. This dish wasnt worth the money - not very good at all. Key lime crust was frozen and the red velvet cupcakes were just okay...nothing special. Meal was way overpriced and disappointing. We wont be back.

Pricey, but having eaten here many times as a guest at the hotel, I can definitely say that Ive had several of my best meals in Boston at this restaurant. The pear and marscapone sacchetti is absolutely delicious and worth the trip to Newton in itself. The lobster cauldron was also delicious. The menu is seasonal and has changed since my last visit, but everything I tried was good and I worked my way through the winter 2012 menu. The bar menu had several different items that were also delicious.

When I stay in Boston I always end up at the hotel where this restaurant is located and I look forward to eating there every night I get free... Really good list of steak, seafood & other meats with very knowledgeable wait staff about where the meat is from, difference between this that and the other. Also nice trendy feel to the place, thought I was in NYC! The wife says they make a really good martini but I dont know anything about that as no hard liquor here

Food paired very well. Cotton candy at the end of the meal was delightful. Throughly enjoyed the foie gras, filet & the dessert cupcake. Was staying at the hotel, so the convenience cant be denied. Absolutely *do not* find the Indigo to be reminiscent of "Howard Johnsons," although may be biased. Enjoyed the liveliness & A+ service. Fire pit is now fixed. Prices are indeed questionably high, but not for Boston. Treat as if it was downtown.

This was truly the worst dining experience of my life - I never bother to write reviews usually but in this case I feel so violated by the experience I feel compelled to write as many reviews as I can to let others know what to really expect. The food is beyond sub par it is down right horrid. The service is non existant - they have NO service just people who stand around and look at you. Bad - Awful -Worst - I would rather starve

Dinner for eight, early on New Years eve. Swordfish dry, rice just laid on plate with undercooked plantins. Dry, unappetizing, way overpriced. Rare hamburger came out gray, tasteless. Watching the open kitchen was something we should have done before ordering. The most overpriced, disappointing end of year meal in memory.

The DJ on Friday and Saturday nights is AWFUL. Painful, even. He plays the same set of annoying music week after week. If you request a song he responds: "I play what I want to hear. I dont take requests". He must be the owners son - the only sense I can make of it. The food is ok- but pricey.
