This place is a family owned, authentic, hole in the wall type of place. You feel like you are in Mexico when you step through the door and start looking at the menu. The quality and authenticity of the food is top notch. The tortillas are nothing like what you buy in the grocery store. These are homemade with fillings that are fresh and flavorful. I had the tripe (yes, Im adventurous) and beef tacos (each $1.50 by the way) they came with fresh cilantro, lime and two small homemade jugs of sauce (one red, one green). My husband has gotten he pork and fried taco and they are equally as delicious. Refried bean are amazing. You cant go wrong with anything you order. This place beats some of the higher end places that charge an arm and a leg for food that is so so. You also know its a good place that serves good food when almost everyone coming in and out speaks Spanish.

This is so far the most authentic and good Mexican restaurant Ive found in the greater Boston area, they have some dishes hard to find in other Mexican restaurants and that are very typical in Mexico, e.g. Menudo (a bit spicy beef tripe stew), Pozole (corn and pork stew) and desserts like Jericalla. In addition to that they have a great variety of Tacos, I especially like Lengua (steamed beef tongue), Tripa (fried beef intestines), Chorizo (Mexican spicy sausage) and Suadero (fried an tasty beef) and the Carnitas are great too. If you like hot spicy try the red pepper sauce in your tacos or order a Torta Ahogada (Carnitas Mexican sandwich covered in very hot spicy pepper and tomato sauce). Enjoy.

After driving past this small restaurant for years, always meaning to stop, tonight I finally did. My regret is that I didnt stop before this. Like all great finds, it turned out to be a mistake to judge La Tapatia by its neighborhood or storefront. (In fact, the location means that the prices are low in order to serve its neighborhood clientele.) La Tapatia is clean and brightly lit, with a cheerful, attentive staff, and most importantly, delicious food. Try the homemade salsa and the softshell tacos, which are nothing like one gets at large, mainstream Mexican restaurants. And ask for the fried plantains, even if you dont see them on the menu.

We were looking for a new place to eat and checked out the Taqueria. We got a bunch of < $2 tacos, a ceviche torta (was suspect but ordered anyway), and enchiladas. The ceviche was (shockingly) awesome, the tacos were very good (bizteca was great), but the enchiladas were a 6/10. Given how good the other food was, and the price, I give the Taqueria 5 stars. Side note - I expected this to be in a bad area given some of the other reviews, but its not. The restaurant is on a main street with sufficient parking. Just dont roll in with 20 people - its a small place.

Manager is not very on top of things. I was trying to become a busboy at the restaurant. I called in a couple days in advance about job openings and he said to come in. I did the next day and I had a chat with him and he sounded very excited to have me as a busboy. He told me to come in on a Sunday at 11:00AM. I did, and little did I know the manager wasnt even there that day. You tell me to show up and you are not even there. The other staff were very friendly and excited to have me as a part of the team. I did not come back. I was only there for 1/2 of a day

The food was great, actually one of the better Mexican places I have been to. HOWEVER the service was atrocious. Our waitress took about 5 minutes to acknowledge we were there, 10 minutes to bring us waters (watch out, they try to charge you for them) and then failed to bring out our chips and salsa until asked a third time. Speaking of chips and salsa, its $6 for a basket... So if you want great Mexican food and lousy service, eat here.

We have been eating at La Tapatia for nearly seven years. We visited the new location for the first time this past Saturday, and were so impressed and excited to see how much they have grown! It has been really fun to see the small mom-run place grow into such a successful endeavor. Awesome job, guys! The food was good and much like what we had eaten many times before in their smaller location. The service was also prompt.

You wont find a more authentic Mexican restaurant in central Mass. Furthermore, you wont find a more affordable Mexican restaurant in central Mass either. What a wonderful combination! Whichever entree you select will almost certainly be delicious, and be sure to compliment it with a side of home-made guacamole, wash it down with some of their spiced horchata, and follow it up with an order of their delectable flan.

If you want authenic Mexican food, this is the place to go. I love eating here, on my days off I always go to la tapatia and eat there. My favorite thing to eat is their tacos dorados with a side of their Mexican rice and refried beans. The staff is friendly and attentive as well. The decor is very authentic as well. Great place to eat I highly recommend it!!

Excellente! Ive never had mexican food quite like this but hey it was still mucho Caliente. I got the Carne al a Mexicana to go, and it was choice. It came with avacado and i didnt even ask for it. Brilliante! The only thing I would recommend is geting some cheese dip to go with it but its still edible without. 5 stars very bueno job would recommende

I tried this place for the first time on Friday. I was excited to find authentic Mexican in the area, had been craving some for days. I was a tad bit disappointed. They didnt have fried ice-cream. The tacos were a bit bland. But I liked the atmosphere and the staff was friendly. Wouldnt go out of my way to go here again.

Excellent Mexican cuisine. The Mexican store tacos are as an app or order a few and make a meal of them. I particularly like the chicken but the chorizo is a closer second. The tamales are like the ones my family used to make. Extremely fresh salsa, have done with chips before your meal. Delicioud margaritas.

Yum. Had al pastor tacos and shredded beef and chicken taco dorados (fried tacos) that were great. Also had a red chile and pork tamale that was really good. Rice and refried beans were tasty. The guacamole was the best I have ever had. A great inexpensive dinner. Well be back. Did I mention, Yum?!
