I have been to Ixtapa a few years back and was looking foreword to celebrating there today. I remembered generous portions and great home-made salsa. Did not live up to its former reputation. First, my date went to use the mens room and somebody had vomitted in the urinal and it smelled pretty bad in there. Then, our salsa was watery, chips fair. Our drink was on the rocks, but it had about as much ice as a sno-cone and was the wrong drink. We ordered our food.... and I did not get what I ordered, the tacos were burritos, and the tomatoes to go with it were one slice of green tomato end, the described ingredients just werent there and even the rice and beans were not very generous. Most of all the steak. Medium. And it was shoe leather.... My date eats anything, but not this. We decided it wasnt even worth complaining because we didnt want a gift certificate back. We arent coming back. The staff was pleasant enough but our order was incorrect, and in spite of oversized plates the servings were only worth about 1/2 of the price. $$$$ huge expense for what we got. . Save your money and your time and eat somewhere else. We wished we had.

Had a bad experience the first time we had a family lunch here, having to wait and hour for our food even though there was only three other tables filled. Since Mexican restaurants are hard to find, we thought wed give it a second chance. I asked our server for my beer to be put in a cold glass with lime and salt like the margarita glasses. He said he couldnt do that. They have a full bar so I didnt see what the problem was. I asked to speak to a manager, and was left sitting at the table with my family of 5 for almost 10 minutes. We got up and left, will never go back. Highly recommend staying away from their poor service. Their half decent food does NOT make up for it. We went to Unos and they made my dressed beer in an ice cold glass within 30 seconds of sitting down. Try Unos!

I have been to this place probably three times and have always gotten terrible service. Today, we walked in and sat at the bar. The host gave us menus and chips and salsa almost immediately. Then we waited. And waited. I saw 3 people that worked there (including the host) and not one of them helped us (other than the host, obviously). There wasnt anyone behind the bar, even though there was another patron at the bar who was finishing up their food. We waited for almost 15 minutes and no bartender or server showed up. I finally asked the host if we could just order to go. Its not like it was busy, seeing how it was just us three at the bar and two tables in the whole place. The food was good, but the lack of service and caring makes me not want to give them my business.

This is my first visit to Ixtapa. I love mexican food and cook allot of it at home and go out for mexican food at least 2 times a week. I decided to try Ixtapa this week and was impressed. The staff was very nice and quick to help me settle in with drinks, chips and salsa. The salsa was very watery and found it difficult to use my delicous chips but, a good flavor. My dinner was not exactly has I ordered it but over all was delicous. The spanish rice had a great flavor and would have been the best I had in years if it wasnt for the rice being so mushy. The prices were very responsible for the what you get in size and quality. I was not happy with the bar prices at all; two drinks cost me more then my meal. This will keep me from having dinner more often.

Hoy fui a comprar una quesadilla de pollo y la verdad, una porquería. Hace tiempo que soy clienta y he observado que la calidad de la comida ha ido bajando. No les compro más. La quesadilla era pedazos de pollo en tiras, no había queso y nada más. Muy lamentable. Lástima no me deja publicar la foto.

My husband and I went here on a date and we couldnt have been more pleased!! As parents our dates are few and far between so we are happy when our restaurant choice turns out excellent. Not only is the service kind, happy, helpful, and prompt, but the food is to die for! We are buffalo wing lovers and because of that we are picky; THEYRE WINGS ARE EPIC! We then got our dinners and both of us were thoroughly impressed with the portions and the quality! SO YUMMY! We were stuffed and we cant wait to go back! Next time maybe we will be kind to the kiddos and let them tag along ;)

We go to the Ixapa once in awhile. The food isnt bad but the prices are high and the portions are on the smaller side for Mexican cusine. Drink prices are also outrageously high for Mexican restaurant, so we tend to drink at other bars in the area after eating there. Sadly compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area its probably one of the better ones. I do look forward to their salsa and chips since thats probably the best things to get there.

I have been here many times and have always found it ok, not great, ok. The food has taken a nose dive recently; prices are relatively high for Mexican food to begin with. The last time I was there, and literally the last, I ordered a shredded beef chimichanga. What I got was a few ounces of Alpo in a paper towel that was dropped in a deep fryer just long enough to make it soggy and inedible. I cant imagine ever setting foot back in there.

A once good Mexican restaurant, over the past few years thry have been slowly eliminating interesting dishes from their menu in favor of the kind of dishes New Englanders imagine as being Mexican food. Once regulars, we seldom go there anymore, even though this Lunenburg location is better than the one in Groton. All in all, what was originally a pleasant surprise for us has become somewhat disappointing.

Service is slow. Had to keep getting the attention of the waiters just to order. Food is extremely mediocre. Very, very mushy platters. Everything is just thrown onto the plate. Meat is very very mushy consistency. Drinks were okay. Margarita definitely had cheap, cheap tequila. And on top of it all, freezing cold at the bar area. Like literally no heat. Food got cold after 5 minutes. Never again.

Horrible service got all of our orders wrong... Then came the bill, bill was for 68 dollars, i got charged for 43 and my friend got charged for 40 dollars.. asked the waiting why they charged us more than what the bill was for they were confused and said they threw out the original slip.. I will never be going to this place again horrible service, no one could understand what we wanted to order

Yesterday was my last time going here. The fat waiter in the Patriots shirt was too busy watching the game to attend to his tables. He was rude and slow. My girlfriend wanted a second Margarita but since he was at the TV in the bar, you missed that sale. We will not be back! To anyone looking for a replacement, Plaza Alteca in Worcester is great! Better food and much better service.
