Drink prices are too high. Dont expect much from their rice and beans as they are prepared a week in advanced then put under a heat lamp on premade platters. Salsa is really watery and that's the truest thing you will ever hear. The service is meh as half the wait staff doesn't care (including the girl bartender) but overall its the only mexican restaurant in the area besides taco bell so it'll have to do for now. Just make sure you order the fajitas for 2 its the best thing there for your money.

Ive been fortunate enough to have grown up outside of MA, in an area that had great, authentic, Mexican food. Upon moving to MA, one of the first missions I set out upon was finding a great Mexican restaurant. EVERYONE I met directed me to "Border Cafe", which, while it is okay food, is not authentic Mexican, it is TexMex. After searching for the last seven months, we finally stumbled upon Ixtapa - and LOVE it! Great, authentic Mexican food, quiet atmosphere, fantastic service and great price!

A friendly atmosphere, with libations that you can enjoy and a not so typical kitchen that serves south of the border flair. If your expecting it to be spicy, be sure to ask for it that way as many from New England are more mild seeking diners so they often serve it that way. Get a sampler to share and top with a fruity margarita and you will enjoy your visit to Lexington.

When we lived in Arlington we would always go here. As we are from the southwest originally, we would always look for places that served food that was on par with our tastes. Ixtapa nailed it! On top of the food, the service is always very friendly, though sometimes a bit slow; but the atmosphere is great. With marriachi bands on Thursday (I think), it is a blast!

I live in Texas. This is as good as most Tex-Mex restaurants that are in the Lone Star State. The decor could use some help. The food came to the table fast and hot. Portion sizes are big. Everyone in our group of 5 had a different meal and all enjoyed the food. Salsa needs more spice for my Texas taste buds.

We had three bad meals there and will never go back. Food quality was poor - chicken was dark meat in a watery salsa - tasteless. Drink order done incorrectly. Wrong type of meat brought - I ordered beef and they gave me chicken which I didnt want because it was so bad the time before. Dont bother..

Mexican not Mexicant. Best margarita Ive ever had. Great service with speedy delivery. Better than the much more expense Temazcal Cantina or other high falutin restaurants in Boston. The Cadillac margarita has found the perfect balance of sour/sweet to booze. Think I may go tonight......

Punched in Mexican food in my GPS and on the way to the nearest place it showed, I spotted Ixtapa and decided to try it out. Very glad I did. Nice staff and great food (I had the Ixtapa beef burrito). Walked out stuffed and happy with a great first impression. Will definitely go back.

I love this place! Great margaritas that wont break the bank. Go for the Arroz con Pollo or the Street Tacos, and dont forget the fried ice cream! The wait staff are always friendly and attentive, and are happy to make accommodations for allergies or food limitations.

Nice family Mexican restaurant. They have a traditional menu, but they can adjust it if you ask. The many times Ive been here with my family everyone had always found something they like. Im a repeat customer.

One of the first Mexican restaurants run by people from Mexico. Chips are warm and fresh, quiet atmosphere very relaxed. Fast service authentic Mexican food! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Very good cheese, plates are served warm and fully filled with your entree, rice, lettuce/tomato/sour cream, and beans. Watched good bowling on 3 TV screens located around the restaurant.

The best time to go is Thursday night with the live band playing. It is a great place for kids. We always have a good meal and a ton of fun every time we go.
