Food is very good, service is mixed. Ive been here twice, both on weekends. On my first visit I came with a coupon, and the server let me know rather brusquely, as if expecting an argument, that I could either use the coupon or do the half price sushi, (which I hadnt known about until I saw the sign on the outside of the restaurant), but not both. I wish he had communicated the information in a nicer way. I returned several weeks later; sushi again was fresh. This server was more friendly but, strangely, had trouble pronouncing the names of the fish (in English) when she repeated my order and I had to ask for basic things (a napkin, more tea). Shes probably new and will learn, but the disconnect between the service and the beautifully presented food means I might not return until the service is up to speed. It would also be helpful if the restaurant printed the price of hot tea ($3) on the menu; many sushi restaurants include it with the meal.

Food: 5 stars Environment: 5 stars -transports you. Forgot I was eating dinner in SE across from BMC. Service: timelines 5 stars; experience 4 stars Great place to change things up from Equator and Seyo on Washington street. Ordered beef ishiyaki (sp?) for dinner. It came with miso soup, a bowl of rice and side salad. GM was kind enough to allow a substitution for an erroneous redundant order of soup that came with the dinner. Additionally, we ordered the seaweed and salmon salad and a slice of cheesecake for desert. The salad was fantastic and the cheesecake was delicious (tasted home made). Will go back. TIP. Park in garage behind hotel. 3 free hours with Roka validation. Also this door facing the parking garage is the front entrance, not the one facing mass.

Worse experience EVER.... Im a huge sushi lover and traveling from out of state.... upon a arrival they said all rolls were 1/2 off.... when letting the bartender know after the 1st roll was out i was getting full and can she put yhe others to go I was THEN informed they are only 1/2 OFF IF YOU DINE IN!!! I would have been ok with that if I knew.... but telling me after the fact is UNACCEPTABLE!! When asking to speak with the manager who was the one who said the offer when arriving said NO to honoring the promo! As a manager she should have made it right, at least this time. They have lost my business..... and Im in town for 2 weeks and I wont be back, which is unfortunate because it was delicious. But management needs a lesson in customer service!

Im giving them an extra star for being in a relative food desert with very few other options nearby, for having a great bottled beer selection, and providing a decent upscale atmosphere. The food quality is a solid three stars - adequate sushi, decent tempura, bento options, although I found most of the of the maki rolls tasted the same. The restaurant is huge - really sprawling, and Ive read that later in the evening it converts into a noisy club blasting rap music, although during our early weekday dinner it had a sweet, classy, quiet vibe around the bar area. Please note, at the time of this writing theyve undergone a name change and are no longer called Roka although it is the same restaurant as before.

My wife and I eat at almost every sushi restaurants in the greater Boston area. The sushi here is really some of the best sushi we have had. The sushi tastes very fresh and the rice had the right texture. There really isnt enough words that can describe how surprised I was on how affordable it was for the quality and freshness. The atmosphere was very open and inviting. I will definitely return.

Food: sashimi portions could be better (slice-wise), but they are running a business, but (!) it was perfectly served. I couldnve asked for more. You should have seen the small packed box. Assortment platter was full and chicken was fried to proper crispiness. Delivery: nice!!I wish I left a bigger tip to the guy. I will order at ZC at any time in future.

Bento boxes are the best. Service is questionable. Edit 3/5/17: their service improved on the weekend when the older gentleman/barman is available. He checks on you multiple times and is quick with ordering and getting the check.

I have never eaten inside but I always get their sushi! Lunch special is great, 2 rolls for $9.95, and you can order online! My favorite is the sweet potato roll. Restaurant is usually somewhat busy on weekdays around lunch time.

The food was amazing as always. The service was just bad. The waitress seemed so detached from her customers, and didnt seem to provide an inviting atmosphere

The service was terrible, food was not impressive. I was taken aback by how slow the service was. I have no idea how this place got the rating it got.
