Horrible horrible horrible experience!!!! I didnt even get the chance to order and eat the food there, thats how bad the disgusting service was! I went in and saw the manager rudely telling us that we cant get a seat fast enough since we were a party of 5. A party of 3 came and was immediately seated and served their first appetizer within 10 minutes. That party was white and mine wasnt, so I felt a little bit of favoritism of the white people there rather than the non-whites. After waiting for 30 minutes, we finally got a seat and had to wait an additional 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Once someone came to take our order, she says we have to SPEND $15 PER PERSON!!!! So I had to spend $75 when my order had come to $45. I was furious because I waited about an hour and then had to spend more than my whole order was. The owner didnt apologize AT ALL and said it was my fault for coming here and not knowing the policy and called me cheap for not following the policy!!!!! I couldnt take it and gave the disgusting, bigoted manager a piece of my mind and stormed off. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY TO COME TO THIS HORRIBLE RESTAURANT!!!!!

I visited this place for an emotional reason, "Indian Food". I was missing my home cooked food and north Indian authentic taste, this place didnt disappoint me. The location of restaurant is very good, its accessible. You may find the entrance of restaurant a bit unusual like entrance to a basement, but as soon as you enter in the restaurant, you get the feeling of a nice restaurant. The seating is really good. The staff is supportive, they greet customers with smile and serve with smile. The bollywood music makes your mood for Indian food. Their menu has all popular north Indian and authentic Kashmiri dishes. The price is on mid-side, not very expensive considering the portions of food. I visited this restaurant thrice and tried their Lamb Rogan Josh, Bhuna Gosht, Goat Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Naan, samosa. The taste of food was good, not like really-delicious but good. I recommend this place if you are looking to have some good quality authentic Indian food in Boston.

Appearances are deceptive. My wife and I were walking down Newbury Street and were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant. Judging by the location and the number of people in the place, we assumed that we could get some nice indian food. Our disappointment started when we were ushered in. The host had an air about himself which made me feel like I was a beggar trying steal his meal. No politeness...no courtesy. When we got the pakoras it was cold and we had to wait 10 mins for the chutney and that too only when asked. Food was lukewarm...the sabji had been reprocessed a million times before it was put in front of me. My suggestion (from an Indian to other Indian food lovers and wanna-be Indian food lovers) never make the mistake of partaking a meal here. It is a disgrace that they should even make money for the garbage that they put out and the pompous service they provide.

Dont go there!!!!!!It had one waitress serving about 10tables on a Saturday night which it is known to be a busy night. Took 20 minutes to get water served to our table. Ordered appetizers and didnt come until dinner. The waitress never came back ever to check on us and nor refilled our water. The food was okay nothing special. The manager was as useless as the waiter that served us, and nor he offered to make our meal any better after talking to him. All he did is give me some excuses why the service was bad. Be ware of this place. Not worth it at all. Go to other places where servers and management are better and appreciate ur business. Never going back again.

HEY KASHMIR...why dont you actually read some of these reviews about your poor service and get with it!!! I completely agree with anyone below how complained of bad service. We had to flag someone down just to take our order, and then at the end of our mean the waiter came swoopong by to grab his tip and did not even say thank you or so much as smile! I wanted to slap it out of his hand and put it back in my wallet. This place is nothing special, and needs to make some big time staff improvements. Also, as a side note, the glasses of wine are all like $9-10 which is kind of ridiculous when all of the food is like $15-20.

awesome food. however, be aware, our cost for the water only was $36!!!! there were 7 of us and when the waiter asked whether we want still water or sparkling we just said still water thinking it would be the normal water. we were a group of students and not so exposed to the snob water culture. we were shocked to see the water bill. it ruined our night though we really enjoyed the food. when you sit, it feels odd to ask do you charge for the water. but this is the cost we had to pay for not clarifying first. so go at your own risk.

I went to this place with great expectations but was totally disappointed with this place! Usually Indian restaurants are good or very good....hardly anything is bad -- especially if you order the safe dishes (which we did). But everything (!) at this place was bad! Bad as in inedible bad...I had to send back one dish. I dont know if the chef was having an off day or what but Im never wasting my time or money on this place again. Would much rather go to Cambridge (Harward Sq.) and eat some inexpensive but delish food there.

This place was amazing. Amazingly awful, that is. I asked for "medium hot" and what I got back was...bland. Discustingly bland. We left 90% of our food on the table because we just couldnt eat it. Both my and my friends dishes tasted exactly the same...like tomato soup. The "curry", if you want to call it that, had fatty chicken pieces in it that did not taste like they had been cooked with the sauce. The only decent thing was the rice. Overpriced and obnoxious waiters. Dont waste your money.
