Having a dinner at Mela was my biggest mistake! We guys after seeing a movie went to mela for having dinner it was clearly written on google that closing time is 11 pm. So we ordered all at once as we know that even if they close by 11 kitchen will close by 10:30. But, as soon as we tasted the food it was pathetic and we asked him to make another "which is i think is our right being a customer" as this waiter was taking our order he abused us that how can you say that the dish is good. After that what he brought us what a curry with more water. We had that as we thought that there was need in asking a replacement again. But, apathy didnt end over here the waiters didnt even bothered to refill the water even after telling them and as we complained about this to there manager they all started to arguing with us and moreover the manager told us that how can you expect service while closing, which was the worst argument i have heard in my life. Furthermore they didnt stop over here they started abusing us as we did something wrong.

3 Stars rightly describes it, its okey but I would actually like to give 2 stars to it.. The food is not so great as much I expected it to be. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan , Onion Kulcha, and Raita ( yogurt ) . The breads were really soft and fresh , but apart from that the CTM was no where like the tikka it should have been, the chicken was not at all soft or juicy but felt like just frozen cubes of chicken, you could make out the red chilies in the curry, added to make it medium spicy. Ideally the curry should feel homogeneous but it wasnt. The Raita was sour and even after telling the manager , he just exclaimed "oh yeah I know about it, there was some problem with the refrigerator" how could have he served that even after knowing that it was not right and then charging money for it too. I was happy with the service , it was quick and courteous. We did not bother having the sweets after this kind of main course. All in all not impressive ..

We had dined-in a few times at the restaurant and were reasonably satisfied with quality. So when a major event came up and we needed catered Indian food, we called Mela. When the food showed up and we took off the lids we were in shock (and embarrassment in front of our guests) -- there was an inch-thick layer of OIL floating on top of each entree! Absolutely gross! We ended up scooping out the oil and collected one 16 oz cup from each entree -- no exaggeration here!! As an Indian I know very well how greasy our grub can be, but I have honestly not seen anything like this! Also, the chicken and paneer entrees we got turned out to be practically identical!! You do expect the restaurant to tell you that the entrees you have selected have the same base and you should select something else. All in all a horrible experience. I would never cater from this place again, and am not planning on dining-in either.

This is the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been in Boston. Thursday night we went there at 10. The restaurant was open until 11 according to their website. We ordered Chicken tikka masala. They gave us some chicken which tasted like some normal chicken extremely tangy. It tasted very very bad. The hotel staff was PATHETIC. They were not listening to us at all. We have to call them 5 times to replace our chicken. Then he finally replaced and brought the same chicken (just heated it) . They were RUDE to us and said that we should have come earlier, when they themselves have timings till 11 on Google. Then when we were leaving we told them about the quality of food, so instead of apologizing they ABUSED us by using the F word. Dont ever go into this restaurant if you want to have a pleasant experience with Indian food

Below average Indian restaurant in a very expensive area of the Boston. I have been to both the best and the worst Indian places (not by choice) and based on my experience this place is definitely Not the best place to eat and appreciate good Indian food. Not sure if Zagat standards have really gone down? They have rated it the best Indian restaurant for some unknown reason. I ordered Butter chicken with Tandori Roti and some onion and green chillies. I received Onion with green peppers with below average tasting Butter chicken and dry Tandori roti. When questioned, was told that they use green chillies in the pre made tomato butter chicken recipe past so unavailable. Food Taste was below average. Would not come back again....definitely not.

Weird Lousy Lying freaks Who said ready in 50 60 min door delivery but came 10 o clock and we ordered at 7 30 The food was disgusting and the chicken biryani was veg and they threw in in 3 pieces of meat The guy who delivered called and said he added 15 dollers by calling and didnt even ask all he said was I need tip Ill add 15 bucks and hung up Worst of all worst resturaunts and we will never go back The staff is so annoying we had to call five to six times the staff lied that there was a fire and there was a delay then he said it was the building opposite of our hotel After that the staff cursed at as for giving a lousy review and made as give a good one and watch out for forgery done by this restaurant And never buy there food

Its Americanized version of Indian food. People who like food with subtle spices would love it. Wont recommend to anyone whos looking for authentic Indian food though. Good number of vegetarian options available in their weekend lunch buffet. Their veg thaali for two is something to try if its not buffet hours. Great value for money. Their Naan is perfect. Giving them 4 stars only bc the Malai Kofta tasted nothing like malai kofta. It was just wrong! Otherwise, Its a cute lil spot, perfect for a date night. Ive not had to wait to get a table. (Been there only thrice)

Horrible food. They are fooling people saying they serve Indian. They are serving something that uses Indian spices but is not even close to Indian food. Pathetic service. Servers dont know how to take care of guests. No one came ever to check if we needed anything and were doing good. Never coming back again. Didnt see any Indians eating there because they know what Indian food should taste like. Dont fall for the four stars given by people who dont know what Indian food is like. Not that Boston region has great Indian restaurants, but this one is worst of the lot.

DO NOT USE THEIR APP. Placed an order and was charged but never notified that we lived outside their delivery area. The app took the address and my money and nobody called to tell me the food would not be delivered. In fact, when I finally called them I was told the driver took the food out for delivery but returned to the restaurant with the food. They were not going to notify us of any of this. Thanks Mela. My wife loves your food, but this is completely horrible and inexcusable.
