Went to Indian palace to celebrate my husbands birthday, I checked the website for the restaurants hours 5pm-11pm .. We walked in at 9:55 was greeted very poorly was told by the waiter that they close at 10:30 and I informed him that the website says 11 and so does the sign on the door, we sit with gifts which clearly shows we are celebrating some occasion, we look at the menu, he asks if we are ready to order, I say yes, and he responds "good"with attitude we order Indian palace for 2 . He tells us we cannot order that because its a lot of food and the cleaners will be there at 10:30.. We tell him thats what we want , that they should change the website... He brought all the food at once to the table including the dessert.. At this point Im upset and feel rushed and said are you seriously dropping off dessert to , he said we can pack up the food to go because they have to clean... Ok than comes over in the middle of us eating to let us know that he is the manager and knows that he is giving us good service keeps on talking I asked him to go away so we can eat he walks away and keeps talking ... I could keep going on... The food was good , but the service was by far the worst I have ever experienced and we will not ever return again, I planned on a nice birthday dinner for my husband, and it was anything but... Im so dissapointed!!!!!

The food is delicious -- Ive always had good meals there. I would recommend it on food alone. But whats *really* valuable is that the proprietor is a really wonderful guy. Hes always been welcoming and charming when we came in for lunch or dinner. But just this afternoon, he really went out of his way to cheer my daughter up. We were coming back from her school and she was feeling down and out. We sat down on the bench outside his restaurant to talk about why she was feeling down. And while we were talking, he came out to cheer her up. He chatted with her a bit, got her engaged and laughing, and then gave her a mango lassi. (She loves mango lassi.) He didnt have to do any of that. We werent even customers at the time. But he saw a little girl outside his restaurant feeling unhappy, and he reached out to help. Thats the kind of behavior that the world needs more of. We will definitely be going back, both for the food, and because of a great person.

India Palace in Union Square Somerville is the most flavorful. I love the brunch/lunch buffet which is offered 7 days a week. The lunch buffet has a good variety and is well worth the price of $7.95 weekdays and only $8.95 weekends. India Palace has the best chicken tikka masala as it is a uniquely distinct flavorful mix of spices (see picture). You can also take the lunch buffet home or for catering for your office lunch or college event as they have the experience and know how from doing the Somerville festivals. Ive tried others, but this is the best. Its a great place to switch up your brunch routine to a great meal at a great price! The service is good and they do take out.

I have ordered from this place for about five years. I threw away their menu after tonights order. The last time I ordered, the food arrived late, was cold, and not up to their previous quality. But since I had always enjoyed their food, I wrote it off as an off night. Tonights order was down right terrible. My aloo gobi tasted like nothing more than potato, cauliflower, and diced canned tomatoes. Zero spice or flavor (I requested "hot"). They arrived cold and the cauliflower was not fully cooked. My husbands kabob was mediocre. I also requested (and paid for) an extra tub of chutney. It was only half full. Bummer because I used to really enjoy this place. :-(

My boyfriend and I LOVE Indian Palace. It is our favorite go to Indian spot. Affordable and right in the heart of Union Sq in Somerville. The owner is kind, warm, and always super helpful. We have never had to wait. This is one of the few spots where I will order chicken tikka masala because I can always count on the meat being fresh and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend is vegetarian and orders channa masala and aloo ghobi. We highly recommend it. Excellent service, great ambiance, and it really is a hidden gem. We can always count on the food being consistently delicious.

I absolutely love this place. The food is delicious, the environment is so peaceful, and the owner is so kind. I come to this Resturant at least once a week. I love thier buffet selections. I get to have my favorite dishes while trying something new. I love thier goat dish!! I love their rice pudding!!!! I come here with my coworker sometimes and they also love this place. The price is amazing! I can fill up on great food for less than $10!!! Try this place If you havent yet!!!

Normally Id give this place only 4 stars (its an excellent Indian restaurant, and I love Indian food and have been to most in the area) but its not unbelievable. I gave it 5 because Ive been there half a dozen times and the reviews that disparage the service are just plain wrong. The service is excellent as well as the food. I can promise, after having tried some really mediocre Indian places in Cambridge, that you will be only happy with your experience there.

Amazing food! Started with a delicious and perfectly spiced Samosa Chaat followed by Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Korma. Both meals came with white rice and we ordered Garlic Naan and Chabata!! The Vindaloo was the perfect amount of spicy. Enough to give you a kick but not enough to make it hurt! The entire meal was fantastic. Rivaled any Indian Ive had anywhere Ive traveled. India Palace will be a must eat destination for all my future Boston trips!

Great Resturant! The garlic naan comes nice and warm. You dont even need anything new to eat it with. The food is very flavorful, not spicy like other places Ive been at that give me indigestion. This food is great! The selection is great! When Im not in the mood for a dish with meat I can have a vegetarian dish that is filling and delicious. I love the mango lassie!!! So creamy. I eat here so often I recommend it to all my friends.

Worest service. they had pakoda but no chutney, they have mango lassi but no regular salt lassi. no manners , even dont know the way to speak to customers. when I ordered the food , they didnt gave me better food ,they say they dont have, they dont even apologize . they dont know value of customers. new management is worest management, I have been going over there for last three years. but from now I never go to this place.

I want to shout out India palace excellent delivery service! My family would order one of their dinner for two specials, either vegetarian or with meat entrees, both of which are best values at this place, and our food always arrived hot, and usually well before the modest delivery estimate they would give us. The restaurant experience is very good as well but the take out and delivery service here is really on point!
