Last night my cousin and I went to the Cheesecake Factory located in Towson MD. We sat at the bar and placed our orders for drinks and appetizers. I also ordered Salmon and broccoli (Francis C, this was the servers name on the receipt). Some time went by and our appetizers where brought out by Francis C who then told me that his manager (Adam Morris) just informed him that they were all out of salmon for tonight. So I ordered the Avocado eggrolls. The other barkeep was now taking this order and he said ok sure. A few seconds later he tells me they’re all out. I said well ok I’ll stick with what I have. Moments later an older woman came in and sat just a chair’s space away from me. She and Francis C were familiar with one another, you could tell by their greetings. I have no problem with that or anything that I’ve mentioned thus far, until I heard him ask her “what are you having tonight” and she replied “I’ll have the salmon and broccoli”. He immediately responds with a simple “Ok”. O_o He didn’t say I don’t think we have anymore let me go and check. He didn’t say we’re out of salmon for tonight like I was told, just a quick and simple “ok”. I was paused for a moment searching for reason. I could clearly see when they brought her dinner out that it was salmon and broccoli. This was very strange to me so I couldn’t help saying something. I got the attention of Francis C and asked him “what is she eating” he says “kids salmon”. Kids Salmon? What the heck is kids salmon (I do understand the difference) salmon is salmon. You just told me your manager said that you all were out of salmon. Why wasn’t I given the choice of this so called “kids salmon”(this salmon was a very nice size by the way)? He asked if I wanted his manager and I said yes. Adam came over and asked “what can I do for you?” I told him I came in an ordered the salmon and broccoli and was told after waiting for some time that there was no more salmon tonight. His look suggested that that was correct. I said well this lady on the other side of me is eating salmon and broccoli. He said “well that’s kids salmon”. So I asked why wasn’t I told that “kids salmon” was available? Not to mention we’re sitting at a bar. You mean to tell me that you can order from the kids menu at the bar? He says “Well, no you can’t. I don’t know why he served her kids salmon at the bar”. He completely overlooked the fact that I was denied an option that was given to the next person without hesitation. He then says “I have to find out from Francis C why he served her kids salmon at the bar.” Adam is very nonchalant and is basically telling me oh well. Ok find out his reason, then come back and let me know. He came back and told me that this woman was Francis C’s regulars, he already knew what she wanted. Mind you as I stated earlier Francis C asked the lady what she wanted and he said ok. If his manager told him they were all out of salmon, which in my opinion would include kids salmon, how could he tell her ok right away? So my cousin asks Adam “well what are you going to do for us because that’s discrimination. Do you consider this good customer service?” Adam looked at us and said “there is nothing to do for you if you feel you’ve been discriminated against. I can assure you that’s not what’s going on. Again we’re out of dinner salmon she’s eating kids salmon at the bar and she shouldn’t, but I’ll handle that with Francis C”. Adam didn’t seem to care one bit and the situation was not handled. I told him, thank you for nothing and goodnight. I don’t know how he became a manager with absolutely no care or consideration for the customer. So, it seems if you plan on dining at the Cheesecake Factory in Towson you will be treated according to how often you visit. If you’re a regular you’ll receive all menu options even if it’s off of the kids menu and you’re seated at the bar. Needless to say I will not be dinning there again, especially while under management of the likes of Adam Morris!

I have always frequently visited the Cheesecake Factory in Towson but this past Tuesday, the service was terrible. We sat at the bar and there were two guys behind the bar. We received our first drink fairly quickly but everything else was a struggle. And they were not extremely busy because one bartender left the bar multiple times and the other guy was working the service bar and putting glasses away. We had to ask to order an app, and it came out before anyone inquired about us ordering an entree. As a matter of fact, we finished the lettuce wrap and both of our drinks and sat there talking for about 5 minutes with empty glasses and the empty plate. We then asked to order the entree and we asked for another round. After about seven minutes and still no drinks we asked again, and the bartender responded, oh I just heard yall talking about another round I didnt know you wanted one. Isnt it your job to ask, with 2 empty glasses sitting in front of us? We were never offered bread, nor was bread brought out and it was dinner service. A couple sat next to us, and they were getting impatient with the service also because I heard the gentleman complaining. Once we finished eating we had to ask for a to go box and we were literally given a to go box. No bag, so we had to ask for a bag. But, as soon as we asked for the bag, the check was quickly given to us. That was the only thing that was brought to us without asking. I remember when Cheesecake Factory would bag your to go items for you, or at least ask. I remember when they would offer fresh ground pepper with your pasta. I remember when the bartenders actually asked you if you would like another drink, or ask if you would like dessert after your meal. I mean, many people would love to be offered to order Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. No worries, we left a nice little note on the credit card receipt along with a 10% tip for the 0% service. Not everyone is a bad tipper but you can not expect the 20% tip that we give happily for great service when you give no effort or service. Maybe manager presence is needed so the service is back up to Cheesecake Factory Standards. People go to places like The Cheesecake Factory for the service and the atmosphere. The staffing needs to get it together, they are starting to act like Fridays staff, and that is not a compliment!

I visited this location on 4/2/16 for my friends birthday dinner (party of 11). We arrived at 5:30 pm when we made our request for a table that required a manager as it was a party of 8+ who notified us that it would be up to a 3 hour wait as a party was just seated at their only available table for a large party or we could split our party up and be seated separately. Through clarification it was explained to us that this party was just seated and we would be the next party in line to have that table. With that we had the hostess take down the name and number in which they recommended checking back in within 1.5 hours which we did. At this time we received the "buzzer" and as we have been standing in the same section for this amount of table we noticed a group of 9 young ladies come in to request a table. As time went along we noticed the group of young ladies disappear so we decided to inquire. The hostess gave us an attitude when we questioned this in turn calling the manager back out. After explaining what had happened and what we were told about being the next table the manager, Steve decided to lie to our face about the situation. Steve stated that this party was here before us which was not true and then to continue his lie stated "well their dad was waiting and the girls must have been walking the mall while they waited". How is this possible if upon our arrival the large party before us was just seated? Obviously, very disappointed in how the management has handled this seating situation from the beginning. Finally, after 2 hours of waiting we were being seated at an area where several tables were put together which is what should have been an accommodation made to best serve the paying customers. We had the walk past the group of young ladies in which there was no visible male sitting with them. Anyways, besides the terrible management and how things were handled that night - the service was great and the food was absolutely amazing. The wait staff was tipped exceptionally for their service as this was not an issue on their end, but the manager did not offer anything to anyone in the party to ensure we were satisfied with our overall experience at his restaurant. Unfortunately, not sure if great service and great food is enough to make me come back to The Cheesecake Factory.
