This place will never receive business from me again. I came for the first time about a week ago and ordered the general tsos chicken. Before I ordered I was asking the host if the general tsos came with broccoli and she was acting like she didnt know what I was saying, but I heard she said something about "Its on the bottom" I just didnt fully understand her because her English wasnt that good. She then called a man to the front to ask him to translate it to me, then this guy told me you have to pay an extra dollar for broccoli. I said okay and gave an extra dollar for the broccoli. So when I got my order I seen the broccoli that was on the bottom like she said it comes with then I thought to myself "Did this man overcharge me for broccoli that is already included in the order?". YES HE DID. I was very displeased by this. And the food wasnt even good to finish it off smh.... Word of advice to you: Do not eat here

NO STAR. The people in this restaurant are dishonest. They issue coupons through Valuepack but they never honor them. This is false advertising and is against the law. The coupon says free 2 egg rolls with $15 purchase or free fried rice with $25 purchase. We once tried to claim the egg rolls but were told that the coupon doesnt work with dim sum. Another time we ordered dinner and were told that we couldnt get free fried rice with the dinner. So their coupons never work and are issued under false pretenses. There are no restrictions that are printed anywhere on the coupons. In addition they are very rude and aggressive. Im so fed up with dishonest people that this time I will report them to the Md Consumer Protection Agency.

Tucked away in a strip mall in Aspen Hill, Silver Fountain is a great dim sum treasure. We arrived on a Saturday a little past noon. No wait, but the very elegant dining room was half filled with customers and buzzing. Carts came around immediately, but we started to see the same ones over and over. This normally wouldve been a negative, but it turns out you can order any dish from the kitchen, no waiting for a cart. We put in an order for the bbq pork buns and no sooner did we blink did they arrive. Food quality was high, very fresh and very hot. Do not leave without an order of the pineapple buns. Piping hot, not too sweet, utterly delicious. Easily the best Ive had in the area.

All I needed to do was bring home a quart of soup. I tried to order combination of wonton and chicken noodles. What they ordered was sub-gum wonton with shrimp! During the 20 minutes I was there it was clear that neither of the women who worked there spoke enough English to understand / communicate with me. All of the clientele that walked in while I was there conversed with the staff in their native tongue. I changed my order to wonton soup. The broth was bland and the wontons had almost no meat in them. This is not the first time I have tried this restaurant, but it was the last. I have had other food there that I sent back because it was not what I ordered.

Authentic Cantonese DimSum every weekend. Do not order DimSum weekdays as it may not be as fresh and not served in the traditional carts. I love the steel steamers as they can be more sanitary than the traditional bamboo. Service can be rough because the servers are so super busy and they try their best! So be patient. The carts one with steam or fried DimSum. Then the other selection come in rolling trays. Sorties the servers themselves carry them ahead of the carts to distribute them ahead. Be patient for the delicious selections. You can also order ala carte as everything is very reasonable.

Rating this as an authentic Chinese restaurant (didnt bother looking at the buffet or other Americanized menu items). The shrimp dumpling filling had a nice taste to it, but the skin was mushy and fell apart immediately. Wasnt a good sensation chewing it in my mouth. The rice in the lotus leaf wrapped rice was uneven--tough in some parts. Flavor was fine, though. If I were in the neighborhood and had a hankering for Chinese, I could stop by and try something else, but I wouldnt make a point to come here, given other options in Wheaton and Rockville.

The shrimp with lobster sauce my wife had looked like snot on the plate (and didnt taste much better), adding the raw egg that was on top of it, it was horrible. The egg drop soup, was the worst I have ever had (being an avoid chinese restaurant goer my whole life). We just moved here and have been trying to find a quality chinese place to eat. Needless to say, when we told the neighbors who have lived here their whole lives, about our visit to silver fountain, they said I hope you dont get sick. We will NEVER go there again!

My husband and I love their dim sum! Such authentic food and its always packed on Sundays. Our favorites are the sweet rice, shu mai (pork dumplings), and Chinese meatballs. There can be a bit of a language barrier sometimes, but the wait staff have always figured out what were asking after a couple tries and are always friendly. Note: they do have low sodium soy sauce, but you have to ask for it by color (the one with the green top).

Im a regular their weekend dim sum because of the excellent service, delicious steamed shrimp balls, and tasty roast pork with sticky rice in a lotus leaf. The menu has tons of variety and at a very reasonable price ($3-6 bucks). Ive brought many friends to Silver Fountain and they all turn into regulars too! Tell me you know a better dim sum place in the Wheaton/Rockville area and Ill tell you to go to Silver Fountain!

Ive been going here for lunch buffet for 20 years...Tuesday and Friday are the best days imo..the menu changes each day..The crispy shrimp on Fridays goes quick, and they make you wait for more, but for the price, the food is good, and its better than a lot of other places that serve food that tastes like it was thawed from frozen bags and reheated..I have never gone for the dinner menu, so I cant comment on it..

Celebrated here for the Chinese New Year. Silver fountain offers a solid Dim Sum experience complete with rotating table and many different options. The food was very good and is priced inexpensively to boot! They even feature chinese dramas and music videos projected on the wall. I would definitely return for dimsum!

Have eaten @ SF for 20 yrs...one should discount the compulsive posters because these people take pride and are frequented by Asians...not dimwits ashamed to use their names. Standard Chinese cuisine is hard to top...anyone rating 200 restaurants abuses the format..

We did their dim sum menu. The food was just as high quality as the other places in Rockville area, so I was happy to have gone, especially since they didnt have a line to get in like other more popular places. Their egg tarts were beautiful and delicious as well.

My favorite dim sum in the local area. The carts come out fairly quick and pretty much everything I have tried was delicious. If theres something you really want but havent seen after a while you can always ask a waiter to put an order in for you too!
