PROS: * Friendly wait staff * Lots of space * _Really_ good alcohol prices (coming from DC) * Decent portion sizes for the price CONS: * Cooks really take their time * Food is overloaded with condiments * Strikes a weird balance between comfortable local bar and upscale steakhouse. Doesnt really fit in either category. Details: The hostesses are great, waitresses are great, they put in your order fast and get everything right the dozen or so times Ive been here. Bartenders are ALL fantastic that Ive seen, give you stout pours on the first drink (instead of waiting to see how well you tip) and are responsive and amicable. Food is alright, actually a bit above average but it gets undercut by the overuse of condiments and seasonings. Personally, Im okay with adding the condiments to my own food (to taste). Drink prices are FANTASTIC, I was getting *stiff* cocktails for $4 a pop. Maybe thats normal in this area, but coming down from DC it was quite a treat. Tip the bartender well and they will seriously hook you up. The ambiance... is off. It really does feel like its a nice, comfortable country bar that (for some reason) decided it wanted to be a higher class steakhouse. Dont get me wrong, I like steakhouses, and I like comfy bars... And I get that this is a chain... But it ends up riding this weird middle road, where you dont feel like you can REALLY just take a load off, as you could at a local tavern, but you also dont feel like its an upscale experience what with the laminated menus. My advice would honestly be to just lean into the local feel instead of riding the line (tough for a chain, I know). All around, its pretty average fare, but the cheap drinks and great staff kick it up to four stars. If I had one piece of advice for the management - treat your girls better, you have way too much staff turnover.

It could have been worse . . . Things went well as we were seated and the two or three staff who served us were polite and pleasant. Management had given our primary waitress duties for individual tables in the front section and for a large party in a different section. As the large party took the majority of her time, our front section food was prepared, but waited and cooled. Eventually someone else delivered the two lukewarm entrées, ahead of the appetizers, which were then retrieved. The chicken tenders of one entrée were mildly overcooked and a bit dry, the fries no longer fresh. The multilevel sandwich of the other entrée had a sauce at each level that may have been mayonnaise mixed with a hot brown mustard. While mustard is generally appreciated, this was too strong to be well spread at every level, and made the sandwich unpalatable. Noting our issues, the sandwich and soup appetizer were not included in our check. Again, the serving staff were the highlight; the management choices and food were the low. We have visited several times over the years, once in a great while the food was nice, but usually not quite. Our recent visit was sufficiently disappointing as to warrant advising others.

went in to the green turtle tonight for the first time and i will tell you i would not recommend them to any one the waitress we had was not attentive to our needs. there waitress staff is lacking and being friendly and not competent to serve the public. never came back to see if everything was ok never checked to see if we needed any thing. until we were ready to leave then it took over 15 minutes to get the bill then another 10 minutes till she came back to collect i had to ask the hostess to take my check and payment. the food was not that good my sandwich was soggy and not that good my daughters food was cold. yes they took the cold fries off but still the dirty looks from the waitress is not acceptable. she is lucky she even got a tip the only reason i left a tip is the fact i use to be a waitress and i know they dont get paid nothing for a hourly pay but she didnt get a big tip like i usually leave for a meal.

Was denied a glass of water at this bar, after having bought two drinks and tipping well, and offering to pay for a diet coke that was given to me no charge. Was told "no more" by a very rude bartender. If the Greene turtle is in the business of refusing water to paying, tipping, drinking customers, I refuse to give them my business anymore. What kind of place would want that kind of liability? There is such a thing as drinking responsibly. Very disappointed.

After spending hundreds of dollars over the football season, I showed up to watch the Chiefs/Raiders rivalry. I was told by the general manager that they didnt have enough receivers, so he dropped the worst game. He became flippant and rude when I dared to ask him to switch out another game. The moron apparently doesnt know how to treat customers. Who cares about the 4 and 2 win panthers/bucks. Apparently he knows nothing about football either.

Food is a bit pricy and crab heavy (am I the only person that gets tired of crab in MD?). It is decent quality food and the beer selection is better than anything else in the area. The staff is great and they make an effort to learn regulars names. I suggest the bar simply because its usually dead when I go (fairly early on week nights) and youll get better service. Im sure at busier times its better at the tables.

Service at the bar is slow. Either they dont care, or are under staffed. My advice is to drink your beverage slowly because youll be waiting a long time for a second one. Lack of an actual bar on which to rest your feet is preposterous. Even more so is the exposed screws sticking up an inch and a half from the floor to which, presumably the "bar" used to be attached, waiting to impale unwary customers.

Review is based off bar experience. The bartender was very friendly and made great drinks. The bar is large and has plenty of seating. The Bloody Mary I had was fantastic and costs $4.50. The shots of jäger were large and were around $5.50. The bartender stayed open for us, which was nice since we stayed an hour after they should of closed.

I havent been here in over a year for good reason. The food was always ok, but the service is terrible. I went here on a Friday night to see one of my friends perform, but the bouncer refused to let me into the bar because my license says provisional, even though im over 18 years old. Needless to say I was very upset and have not been back.

Prompt service, large portions, a little more expensive than I like for this level of food, but was good tasting. The appetizer was so big we all had leftovers from our main course. Wait staff checked on us regularly. Was a overall good dinner.

Sat at the bar. Service was very slow, bartender spaces as well as the bar is dirty. Counter covered with food from past patrons. This is third time coming here besides there burgers rest of food has not pleased the pallet.

Food is okay, not great. Waiters dont come around very often, so you usually have to wait for your drinks. Food comes out somewhat quick, and its pricey. Arcade room games are usually out of service.
