Today was my first time trying out this restaurant. My first interaction with the bartender, I felt he was friendly and I might actually like this place. I placed a carryout order then went next door to the beauty store to grab a few salon supplies. When I returned, I noticed a bag on the counter. My immediate thought was this might be my order. I didnt feel it was proper etiquette to assume it was my order so I waited patiently. I was concerned about if it was my order, it wasnt under the warmer and it was in the area nearest the exit as opposed to secured behind the counter. Not a huge issue but it did concern me. The deal breaker for me was I stood there waiting for at least five minutes while I made repeated eye contact with the two bartenders that were engaged in a personal conversation.....not waiting on customers just chatting with one another. I gradually walked a little closer to cue them that I was ready to pick up my order. Not only did they continue their conversation and not acknowledge me, one of the bartenders continued to make eye contact but never so much as budged to assist me. Finally, I moved a little closer and gestured to the bartender that actually took my order. He gave me the bag that was siting at the bar exit end of the counter. I feel, my order should have been kept behind the counter in a secure place or under the warmer. I also felt there was no mistaking the bartenders saw me but just had a non chalant attitude of we will get to you when we get to you....it was that obvious. As far as the food quality, my meat ended up being cold and tough. The only reason I gave a one star instead a two star is because the first bartender was friendly when I paid and tipped prior to me running to the beauty store. It just quite obvious that he had a shift in personality when I returned and his fellow bartender joined him at the bar. Consistency is critical. You should treat customers the same as you treated them before they tipped...and despite who youre around. Most importantly, ALL customers deserved to be acknowledged in a timely manner regardless of how your fellow bartender de-prioritizes certain guests!

My dad and I went to The Harp Saturday night around 9 PM to ask if we could place an order we would pick up the following day (Sunday) at 3 PM. The woman we spoke to went to the back to ask the staff and returned to tell us the earliest they could get the food ready was 4 PM, which I said was fine. The lady then told us we would get 5 sides with our order, which I listed to her as she wrote them down next to the rest of our order. She told us our total and took our name and number. We left. The following day, my sister went to pick up the order and arrived at 4 PM. At first, she was told by the bartender that he didnt see the order for it. He went back to the kitchen to speak to the staff, who said they knew about the order and were working on it. The bartender relayed the message to my sister who proceeded to wait another 40 minutes before the order was complete. Not knowing that the order came with sides, she returned home. When I had asked about the sides, she said that was all she was given. I took a picture of what we had received, and then called my dad who was in the area. He stopped in and talked to them about the missing sides. They gave him a menu to look at, and he reordered the sides we had ordered the previous night. The staff told him the sides would be ready in 10 minutes. He continued to wait 20 minutes before being given the rest of our order. Unfortunately for us, my dad didnt double check to make sure the sides were correct. He brought the food home and opened the sides, and they were all garden salads. We had ordered 5 different sides, which were all written down by the lady with whom my dad had spoken to on this visit. Only 1 of the sides we ordered was supposed to be a garden salad. My dad then called The Harp and asked to speak to a general manager. He was told that no manager was in today, and that he should try calling again tomorrow when the managers will be in. Today is Mothers Day, and I find it a bit difficult to believe that no manager was in. While I understand it was probably a busy time for them, our experience has been unsatisfactory.

Several months ago my husband and our son went to brunch on a Sunday at the Harp. All went well until we were seated. Our waiter was slow and inattentive. There were only 3 other tables with customers in the dining area and yet it took nearly 45 minutes to get our breakfast. I had to go look for the waiter in order to get more coffee. When our food arrived I, again, had to go find him (he was flirting with a waitress) simply to ask for new toast because mine was so hard I couldnt bite into it. A really bad experience. We received a gift card to the Harp (in February) and have put off going back. This morning we (me, husband and son)decided to give your restaurant another chance. On May 5th we were greeted promptly and and warmly and seated immediately. Our waitress was pretty attentive (but we would have like to have our coffee refilled more often). We placed our breakfast orders and waited. After about 20 minutes she came out and told us that the kitchen was out of ham so I couldnt have my omelet with ham - now what restaurant would run out of ham at 11 a.m. on a Sunday morning - sounds like very poor planning to me! So we waited and waited and waited. There were only 8 other customers in our area and there were three servers. Finally our meals arrived. The food was good (on the cool side) but we waited so long we had almost lost interest in eating. We will never be back - and that means losing the balance of what we have on our gift card. We will also never recommend the restaurant to friends. On May 5th I did send an e-mail to the restaurant regarding our experience but never received a response.

Should have listened to the reviews! I looked this place up a year ago and was disgusted by the reviews, but a band I havent seen in a while was supposed to be playing there, and the gothic irish atmosphere sounded enticing, so we finally went. We get there at 2:45 and tell the hostess, we were there to see that specific band, that was supposed to have started at 2:30. She tells us they were on, but were possibly taking an intermission, and sat us in the dining area, where they had an empty stage. Our server comes over, I assume he is drunk. He was not completely there, but later in service, when he started complaining about the bagpipes, my opinion switched to just being hung-over. We saw tents alongside the building and smelled pit beef, so we asked our server. He had no idea, and had to ask a manager, and still didn’t seem to know what was going on when he came back. In fact every question we asked him, he had to go find out. A different act came out, bagpipes and dancers, they were alright, very loud, but its not like they have volume controls on those things. The kid’s meal and appetizers were fine, but my flatbread margherita pizza was nothing more than soggy bread with peco sauce scattered on it. The bangers and mash turned my boyfriend’s stomach, and the mash tasted instant. We left unhappy, but the next day, I saw on facebook, that the band we went to see was there the whole time, playing in the tent, I became infuriated. We were never coming back because of the lazy service, and poor food, but for being absolutely clueless, we are telling our friends, and anyone else who will listen.
