Old Irish cuisine is part of most Americans past whether they realize it or not. Galway has slightly upscaled versions of our old comfort foods. Its not fancy decor and you wont have peoople wearing mink coats driving in Bentleys, but sometimes, particularly toward the end of the vacation you start to crave safe, warm, comforting food. Thats when there is Galways. The lamb stew needed a little salt and pepper for my taste, but thats easily remedied at the table. The bleu cheese potato croquets and the corned beef poppers were nice updates on appetisers and the servings were generous, and the staff courteous and helpful. Maybe next time, Ill save room for dessert. We went back the next day (Saturday) to try to duck salad but there was no parking. Normally there is only metered street parking, but apparently the weekends are the time to go into the historic district for tourists and so it was totally mobbed and litterally 1mph traffic through narrow alleys. Go to Galways during the week or park further out and walk in or take the bus during the week. Eventually we gave up and went to Brio

I hate to throw a monkey wrench into the works but I am never going back. The host was pleasant but it ended at the door. I did not arrive late on a Saturday night but they were already out of three main dishes. when the app arrived it was cold and the seafood sandy. When I told the waiter he went away only to come back and report that I should expect sand! I politley asked to speak to the manager, why; because that isnt exactly right and sure enough, at Galway Bay, sand is apparenly expected. Who knew? My wifes main course arrived but not mine. Then, mine showed up when she was almost done. After I paid the check I again asked to speak to the manager, why; becuase I am not looking for the free dessert but wanted to express my displeasure. I basically got the tough luck pal line. I owe a small buainess, if this happened with my staff I would want to know. I e-mailed the owner. I am not going back.

It was good, I didnt really have any complaints about anything. My mom and I ate dinner at Galway Bay on 3/14/2012 - the Wednesday before St. Patricks Day. I had the Potato and Leek soup as an appetizer and the Traditional Lamb Stew for my meal. My mom had the Blackened Scallop Boxty Bites appetizer and The Irish Mixed Grill for dinner. We both thought it was very good and filling. I also had several pints of Guinness. Mom had some kind of pink cocktail which she really liked. Our waitress was friendly, but paid an average amount of attention to us even though the place was sort of slow. We sat in a booth in the bar (left side of building). We came away satisified. The reason we chose to eat there is because we saw it on the Food Network program "Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives".

The food is pretty good but rather overpriced. I came in on a Monday because the website advertised five dollar burgers with purchase of a beverage. When we inquired about it, we were told "after 5, only at the bar." I rechecked the website and there was no such rule posted. The server was rather rude, so when I saw that Id get a free ten dollar gift certificate for not being carded (Im under 30), I went ahead and ordered a Harp. We told the manager about both these things and I did get a gift certificate for not being carded. He said he "would have to check on that" concerning the burger advertisement on the website. Rude service would be forgivable for amazing food (which it wasnt), but false advertising is completely unacceptable.

The food was fine, and the appearance was great. However, I ordered a Makers Mark bourbon on the rocks before dinner (my regular go to). What came out was an atrocious excuse of bourbon, and tasted watered down. Ok, I figured maybe this was a fluke. Bourbon on the rocks has a brown appearance.. This was anything but. I ordered a pint of Guinness for my dinner as surely the issue must be with me. Lo and behold, when I sipped my beer it tasted flat..I could literally see through the glass, and there was no noticeable carbonation. Im extremely disappointed with my experience. I will not return to Galway Bay, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

After seeing one of their dishes featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, I decided to stop by and try the place out. The Corn beef & Mashed potatoes in a cabbage leaf was such an awesome appetizer; very bold flavor with the mustard sauce. Then I had the Crab Cakes for an entree and I was not disappointed. Served with al dente broccoli & cauliflower with rice, the dish was perfect. And I washed it all down with a cold Blue Moon. I ate at the bar and the service was excellent. The people were all different ages totally chill. I’d come back again for sure. I’d recommend it.

If you have been to a real pub in Ireland do not get your hopes up. The place has a nice Irish theme but is definitely not a real pub. However, the food tastes pretty good and portion sizes are pretty large; I had the crab dip and catfish. The staff was friendly and was willing to split the check a couple different ways. I had the harp beer and it wasnt as good as in Ireland. But this is America and I like the place so 4 stars.

Easygoing and great menu. Their new menu, while glossy plastic, shows a genuine desire to meet todays demand for real food . Bartender said they use wild Pacific cod for fish and chips. That is commendable and superior to those restaurants that promote man made and other fish farmed in faraway places. When I know that Ill be in Annapolis (live in DC) Galway goes in my schedule.

Ive been coming here since the first week of classes. Galway has a great location, slightly removed from Main St and the Dock area. The servers in the bar are some of the finest Ive encountered and they really put forth an effort to make you feel welcome. Roc, Tina, Hoss, are all great. If youre looking for a cozy yet lively pub, this is the place to come. Love you guys. L

Love, love, love this Pub! One of my favorites!!!! Egg nog?! Omgosh! You havent had egg nog until youve been here! Did I mention varieties of egg nog?! Located on a quaint street. If you enjoy walking around lil shops for an afternoon stroll, its worth taking the trip. Not too far from the harbor too! St. Pattys Day, just might find us back there! :)

Some of the best food in Annapolis. Authentic, delicious Irish cuisine, complete with a great selection of tap, wine, and spirits to accompany any outing. The atmosphere is unmatched and the service is always exceptional. Highly recommend a visit. The Irish Reuben is a personal favorite, but you cant go wrong with just about anything on the menu!

Authentic atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage which was amazing, with a generous helping of colecannon and turnips on the side. It tasted very home-cooked. The place exudes Irish pub, from the wood to the decor and ceilings. Would recommend to everyone who happens to be in Annapolis.
