This reminds me of a place that you come to get fed after a dope a sugah sugah night out. You know when you have to feed the alcohol? Meh...youve never experienced this? Oh...just me...in the past, you know. I see. Anywho, upon approach, cant say that I was impressed. But-seriously, the best food comes from places like this. From the outside, there is nothing special, once inside I get the same feeling, nothing special. Wooden booths, large card like tables, seat yourself. It looks like this place has a specific group that it caters too, and you can tell they come and chill out all day. You know like the war vets, your Uncles that you watched play Whist and Spades...I totally dug it. I cant speak to what happens on the weekends, but I hear this place is uber packed! The menu is plentiful, from lunch items like sandwiches, platters, and breakfast items like omelettes, pancakes, waffles etc. Breakfast is served until they close, and I swear the options are insane! They are accommodating, and will substitute items to please you. I got the pancake breakfast which came with two pancakes, eggs, and a choice of meat. It also came with unlimited tea or coffee. Didnt want eggs on this date so I subbed hash browns (no charge, whoop!), and got scrapple. Yall I missed me some scrapple. Seriously. Anywho, the food came up pretty quick, the pancakes were huge, looked fluffy and just the way I like. That was on the FIRST plate, yes the two pancakes filled the ENTIRE plate. The second plate, had my hash browns, and TWO pieces of perfectly fried scrapple. Chile. Now, everything was delicious, the pancakes were cooked to perfection, and were just as fluffy as they looked. They werent crazy sweet, but didnt need hella syryup either. The potato was alright, but improved with the addition of some hot sauce and salt. The scrapple, was just how I remember, yummo. But then again, can one mess that up? Nah. There is no way that a normal person could finish all that they give you. You can try though...I left happy and full to capacity. Food coma ensues.

Im not going to even start on the appearance of this establishment. This is one of those situations where its okay to judge a book by its cover. I was skeptical from the beginning, based on its appearance, but my friend convinced me to go. My friend and I both ordered number 4s which include three eggs, bacon, and three pancakes. My friend substituted pancakes for French toast, a fairly simple order. After about 35 minutes we contacted the waiter asking about our order. She told us they put in the order but i guess there was an issue. They seemed to be under staffed and it was quite busy. I noticed no sense of eurgency from any of the waiters. We recieved our food about 10 minutes later after we contacted the waiter. The food was obviously sitting out for awhile. The bacon was chewy and cold and the pancakes were cold as well. We requested more bacon from the waiter and told her the bacon was cold. She came back with our bacon about 15 minutes later. I honestly feel like we wouldve been better off going to ihop or something. The food was well below satisfactory and it was late. I do not recommend anyone vist this restaurant.

The food was adequate, the staff was frightening, will not be returning!! This restaurant had a steady stream of customers while we were there, but I find it difficult to imagine how they stay in business! The wait staff was going in and out on smoke breaks while waiting on tables and were dressed atrociously! To the owner of this establishment: if that was you I saw with business attire walking through the place, largely oblivious to the deficiencies of your restaurant, please know that you are one inspection away from being shut down! The food was not bad; it was about what I expected, but I was not looking for a high-class restaurant. I was looking for a place to take my family that is clean and fosters a good atmosphere. Sadly, I did not find it here. With the interactions between the employees and their lack of professionalism, you are doing a disservice to yourself and the community you serve.

Great place! As others have said, tend to be quite busy on the weekends. Very good amount of food for the price. Its owner/managers seem to be positive towards local businesses there since every single time Ive gone, Ive been approached by some sort of salesmen. The Obama merchandise guy frequents the place a lot, but the last time I went I got to sample some tidbits from a local bakery which was fun : ). Anyway, service is pretty good. You seat yourself, so if you come when theyre very busy, make sure you have their attention or else they may be too busy to notice youve even come in. Food is great. I still wouldnt rank it as high as the Original Pancake House(theres one in Bethesda), but thats mostly because they dont have as many options. The pricing here is much better.

from outside it looks like a health hazard ones you walk in your opinion dont change if it doesnt get worse. one you get your caffe and you have a taste of you think this isnt coffe this hot mop water. when you get your food it is disappointing . the home made potatoes arent seasoned no flavor, the pancakes are super heavy and again no flavor the only thing they have going for them is there bacon and sausage that are premade and they were able to cook it correctly. And you may ask why did I go in a place that looks like it is going to get me sick to my stomach? Because I thought this was one of those places where even though they dont look good on the out side or in side there food wold be amazing, you know what I mean a diamond in a rough but this is not the case.

In town for visit from Columbus, Oh.. just looking for a place to eat to feed family of 6...stumbled upon this place.. saw a small line out the door.. We figured this place is either cheap or good.. To our surprise its both..We travel very frequently,, and we have NEVER been to a place to date where the helpings and servings were plentiful for the price. Fed all six of us (2 teenagers mind you) pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, orange & apple juice...under $50 included tip.. as a matter of fact.. we tipped beyond because of the service and pricing..flagged as our place to go when visiting anywhere near DC or surrounding area. We need more places like this.. LOVED IT...

Im pretty conflicted writing this review... The food was great, but I had a few gripes. My order was prepared "to go" without asking me, and I planned on dining in. Also, fortunately Im not vegetarian, but I ordered a veggie omelette and came with bacon in it! Honestly, I just laughed at that and ate it anyway, but I would have been pretty upset if I was actually vegetarian. Again, the food tasted really good, so Ill definitely go back to see if my experience was a one-time thing.
