My husband loves the ribs at the original Cockeysville location, so when another Corner Stable restaurant opened close to our house, he was ecstatic. Once I tried their food, I was thrilled as well! Since they opened Ive been back at least a half-dozen times. Everything I have eaten has been terrific, from the cheddar cheese nugget appetizer to the barbecue salmon dinner. (I dont eat red meat, so I havent tried the ribs.) The crab cakes are full of huge pieces of lump crab meat, with just enough filler to hold them together. Their sauces are outstanding: original barbecue, Texas barbecue (spicy and smoky), Stable Sauce (creamy horseradish), Boom-Boom (just spicy enough!) - we usually ask for sides of one or more of these. Theyre all great with fries. :) The salad dressings are great too; Im working on trying them all. And every salad Ive had has been good. Not to say theyre amazingly spectacular, but the portion sizes are appropriate, the tomatoes are ripe, and the greens are fresh and clean - thats more than I can say for salads at many other places. I usually order the salmon dinner or fish and chips. Both are great! The salmon is always cooked perfectly. In the fish and chips, the fish pieces are large; overall, its more than I can eat in one sitting, so I take home the leftovers and enjoy them the next day. My favorite side dish is the macaroni and cheese. Its thick and creamy, just the way I like it. The fries are a bit inconsistent: Sometimes theyre obviously cooked longer, and there can be a wide range of crispiness. They always taste great, though, whether dipped in ketchup, malt vinegar, or one of the various sauces. The staff are spectacular. Everyone has been friendly and helpful. I usually take my son with me (now 4 months old), and theyve gone out of their way to be accommodating and make sure we have a safe and secure place for him to sit. Even on busy nights, theyve been attentive and prompt. The Columbia Corner Stable has become one of my favorite restaurants. Im glad we live so close!

At first glance this place seems appealing, and then you eat the food... Ribs were boiled then chared to finish, or perhaps pressure cooked to the point that the meat was nearly powdered, either way, certainly not properly slow cooked. Beans were from a can, coleslaw was from a plastic bucket. This place really has no distinguisable quality to their pre-fab food and it is readily apparent. Noting has that homemade appeal, rather has that mediocre element at best. Crab cake dinner was nearly 22 bucks for one crab cake and the Ribs were 21 for very petite full slab. Go to Klobys just up the road for a FAR FAR superior rib experience and better beer selection for significantly less money, or go to Timbuktu, or G&M for MUCH better crab cakes where you can get 2 of them for 2-3 bucks more with higher quality sides. For now, its a place that only on the surface is quality. However, if you live in or near Kings Contrivance, and have no interest in quality for your money, this is the place to feel satisfactorily fooled.

Hahah "BEST CRAB CAKE IN BALTIMORE" NOT! They got my 20 dollars for sure. The crab cake was full of a filler with chunks of lump crab hidden throughout (literally...like I was on some sort of crab treasure hunt). The texture was very mushy and off putting. The fries were plentiful but bland. The moral of the story is, bigger is not always better and dont believe what someone writes on a sign. The bartender who took my order was very kind, professional and knowledgeable. There was a hostess who stuck her finger all the way in the back of her mouth as I was waiting for my food. That was very gross and made me question if my food was prepared and handled safely. I mean if youre okay doing that out in the open, what do you do when the customer cant see you? Sad to say, I wont be returning.

This place has the best ribs hands down. The rib meat is so soft, it just falls off the bone. Take note, they serve pork ribs, not beef. But if you ask me, pork ribs taste better anyways. The crab cakes are pretty good. But Timbuktoo has the edge there (as another reviewer mentioned). I dont know where other reviewers get this boiled ribs stuff. Anyone who knows anything about BBQ, knows they are most definitely not... Probably because the meat is pork, and doesnt look like beef, duh. The beers are some of the coldest Ive ever had on tap. Another good dish is the Turkey dinner, and at 12-13$, a pretty good deal. --Update 2016-04-22 They have a lot more beers on tap. Beer is still the coldest on tap ever.

I had read another review somewhere that said the ribs were boiled, and it seemed true. The meat doesnt seem to be flavored at all - all of the flavor comes from the vinegar-based sauce, which is not a universal favorite. There wasnt a lot of meat - my 8-year old ate a half rack plus all his fries and still wanted dessert. The meat was really soft and we had to eat with fork and knife because it wouldnt even stay on the bone. I got the chocolate lava cake for dessert and it was good, but not bursting with flavor -- in fact, none of the food was. They have a great beer selection, though. Its an okay restaurant, but I can get mediocre food closer to home.

Stopped in for lunch on a Wed. Sat at the bar. Service was ok. Barmaid forgot to give me a menu after I had asked for one. Had to wait until she took the order of the guy next to me to get his menu as she still did not give me one. Ordered their pit beef on pretzel roll lunch special. Meal came out somewhat quickly. While most of the sandwich was good, the lettuce was rotten which spoiled the whole meal. Fries were stale. I ordered a Resurrection Ale beer. Barmaid did not know who the brewer was. Beer was excellent but expensive - $6.50 for 16oz. I rate 2 stars - one for good tasting but expensive beer and one for an almost good sandwich.

Service is amazing. The staff was welcoming and were very knowledgeable about all the food. The crabcakes are to die for and dont even get me started on how great the fried shrimp and ribs are. The Mac and cheese.. Man.. It rocks. I have tried many ribs from various place, thats my favorite kind of meat, and these are by far the best ribs.I cannot even compare it to anything I wish this was closer to my home in Chesapeake beach , but Ill always make the drive.. Yes, I really do drive all the way to eat this delicious food (: this place should be on food network for sure !

I dont understand the negative reviews. My whole family loves this place. They run great specials all week and I get coupons every month. The food is awesome - although I only every get the crab cake because its too good not to get. The service is always good. I dont think weve ever had even a slightly bad experience. Trust me, I am a picky diner. Im always critical of the food, cleanliness, and overall service wherever I go. New diners - definitely give Corner Stable a try. Im a real customer! I do truly love this place. On my way there this afternoon.
