What a hidden little gem! Stopped off here after seeing and smelling the smoke coming out of it - and Im glad we did! Had the lunch combo which was reasonably priced for how much you got! $16.50 was enough to feed two people to the point of being full with almost half a slab of ribs and half a chicken. Ribs werent fall off the bone tender - but they were smoked just right! Great flavor and just the right amount of char/carmelization on them. The chicken was a touch dry - but with some of their amazing bbq sauce it was a non issue. The slaw was on point, the baked beans were awesome (unique flavor with a touch of cinnamon that worked really well with the rest of the meal). Id recommend this place for sure. As I was leaving some local police cruisers were pulling in - so I asked them about it. They confirmed it was indeed great food and that they had been coming here for years and years. Stop here, you wont be disappointed.

I visited this restaurant yesterday for the first time 4/23/16. The sides (mac & cheese, greens) were so so. I got the rib & chicken combo. The barque sauce on the ribs was excellent. The ribs themselves were a little tough, but eatable. What disappointed me the most was the chicken? It was full of feathers and not just on the little portion of the wing. Im so disappointed. I wish I could add a picture. When I got home and saw all the feathers, I wanted to take the entire dinner back, but I lived to far to make it before they closed. . The bottom line!!! CLEAN THE CHICKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worth the drive from Capitol Hill! I was visiting historic sites in the area (Ft. Foote and Ft. Washington) and decided to stop at this location on my way back to DC. The parking lot was full. Friendly counter service. I ordered the last slab of beef ribs available, with mac and cheese and collards. On this occasion I ordered carry out and was not disappointed. Have been back and tried the pork ribs. There is a very small seating area inside. Good food, good prices. If you are in the area or planning to be, make this part of your trip.

The vast clouds of smoke from the back of this restaurant testify to the cooking done on the premises. The food has never been a problem, the prices suitable. The clientele are not BBQ novices. Wading into a debate of the relative virtues of BBQ is always tricky. This is mostly pork ribs and pulled pork. The BBQ itself, and the sauces, are tasty. The sides are uneven; perhaps a matter of taste?

I love north carolina style bbq. And smoke.shack pulled pork is my absolute.favorite in this area. When i smell that smokey smell. Coming from any other bbq place. It just reminds me. Go to the smoke shack. Go to the smoke shack. .got chicken also tonight. Great fast service even though the parking lot was full....all of their food is delicious. Try it. See u there.

Went there yesterday for the first time, an Im speechless. The greens are to die for along with the beef ribs. The customer service was excellent even on a busy day, an prices are affordable. I will definitely be going there again on multiple occasions. To everyone that reads this gut it a try, an to everyone that eats there post a honest review.

Two friends and I purchased food today. One rib sandwich that was tough with no sauce. I asked for extra sauce, I didnt get any . Two Born fish dinners. the fish had no taste and cooked to hard. Vegs was the best. Peach cobbler was pretty good but too sweet. Would I recommend you to a friend (NO). Today was my first time to and my last time

Food was always stale food/ like leftovers for days taste n I kept on trying it.they gave me baked beans that were hard n cracked like that been sitting out all note.I gave them a one rating n that was too much.I remember they were so delicious when they first open everything they sale is like eating out the garbage.(all night) correction.

Delicious side items. I can order sides and some dessert and be ok. The macaroni and cheese is sinful! What few people mention are their delicious bar-b-que wings! One of the most inexpensive items on the menu and one of the best. Ive had just about every chicken meat item on the menu and the bbq wings are my favorite!

Pork ribs were dry, tough, and overcooked for the most part, but the meat was slightly better in between the bones. Collards and other sides, on the other hand, were pretty solid. Maybe it was an off day for them... but at that price, I doubt Ill go back again.

Best overall BBQ joint Ive ever tried, period! I was raised in Louisiana and have eaten BBQ throughout the South my entire life. Their combination of pork ribs, potato salad, collared greens and peach cobbler were the best combination Ive ever tasted.

It was just ok. The sides were pretty good- nothing special. I was really hoping to like the ribs. The place was crowded, there was some excitement in the air, but I was really disappointed in the toughness and lack of taste in the ribs themselves.

On a good day you would think, Geez this is heaven. Best old style spare ribs on earth. Down home old school BBQ. The place stays crowded, all take out, no indoor sit down eating. So the parking lot is busy with comings and goings.

When I dont feel like cooking and need a soul food fix, no place is better than the Smoke Shack. I definitely miss it, now that Ive moved out of state. Im going to call my father and tell him to have some this weekend in my honor!

Unbelievable (same review for 3 of us): mac and cheese, beef ribs, fried mushrooms, pork ribs, peach cobbler. Only open Thurs-Sun? Parking lot is small/full so consider parking nearby. Good prices. Large portions.

On May 6, 2017 I ordered a beef rib dinner and I got a bag of bones no meat, bbq-beans were terrible, the greens were excellent. So I waisted my money and I still need some food and that sucks. P.A.P.

Service nice and quick, but the food was tasteless. Potatoe salad was store bought, peach cobbler was sugarless and doughy, mac and cheese smh. Very disappointed.

Very small location, no inside dining and parking is very limited. BUT this is real BBQ so if you want to eat good quality and quantity BBQ this is the place.
