Ambiance - Went around 5pm on a Friday, and it was not overflowing, but there was a steady stream of people. - Theres a large variety of fun hot sauces you can choose to use, and whole wall of hot sauce you can buy from as well. Got the Three Meats Platter - $13 - brisket - very nice and moist. - chicken - more tender than I generally expect chicken to be, so t was nice - pulled pork - a bit dry unfortunately Sides - collard greens - generally dont like them, but this was super stewed with a few bits of bacon, and had the right amount of salt and vinegar flavor - cole slaw - not vinegary or pickled as I would like, but has a nice crunch with a variety of veggies - fries - just the right amount of slat and flavoring, though it was on the bendier side than crisp Service - We split the platter between two of us, and they were nice enough to provide an extra bun

This seems to be the place on the NW side for BBQ. As a BBQ lover I had to check it out. We ordered the food to go, which took a wile to get, but I got to admire their huge sauce selection they have for sale. They also have a pot where you can lade your own extra sauce to bring home which is cool. When I opened my takeout box, I was a little disappointed. I ordered the 3-meat combo and it was hard to distinguish which was which. it kinda looked like a big mess, which is OK for BBQ. The flavor was decent, but not the best I ever had. I would definitely go back if was in the area again.

This was by far the worst barbeque Ive ever had. I ordered the beef ribs and bf ordered the baby backs. We also ordered two sides, red beans and rice and mac n cheese. The beef ribs were cold, tasteless and tough. The rice and beans were undercooked and had no flavor. I had to add salt, hot sauce and more sauce to make them taste like anything. The shells in the mac n cheese were so overcooked they were moosh and the cheese is just cheese sauce not even real cheese! We spent $38 on this food and it wasnt even worth a penny!

Staff were really nice and very accommodating. Three of us arrived shortly before closing on a sunday, ordered chicken BBQ sambo with sweet potato fries, a grilled sausage sandwich with regular fries and the chicken tenders with regular fries. Chicken and sausage were amazing and nothing was better than the sweet potato fries which were the perfect amount of crispy and soft. However the fries that came with the chicken tenders were soggy and undercooked. :( One flaw in an otherwise lovely meal.

We found parking within a couple of blocks, and they had space for six of us at 8pm on a Saturday. Prices werent bad considering the place is walking distance to Georgetown. The onion rings probably came right out of a Sysco freezer bag but they were precisely to my liking rather than the thick-cut sloppy monstrosities at other restaurants. Everything we got was tasty and the staff were very, very friendly. Ill definitely be back on the rare occasion I find myself in the area.

Ive eaten here four times and have been disappointed all four times. I imagine that this place must have been really good years ago. However, the BBQ is dry and way overpriced. Im no BBQ pro, but have eaten at a number of BBQ places in dc and other locations and this one simply does not impress. BBQ should not cost 12 or 13 bucks in my eyes. However I live in glover so Ill probably keep giving it a try.

Nice little neighborhood bbq place. Service was friendly. I loved the house made bbq sauce that you dip out yourself - vinegary, not sweet. The place smelled like wood smoke which is spot on. The beef rib was delicious, chicken and baby back ribs very good. Spare ribs were a little charred and needed more rub or something on them to give them more flavor. Sides were all very good. Worth checking out!

Employees were great. Food was awful and overpriced for what it is. The brisket sandwich I had was swimming in barbeque sauce to cover up the lack of technique. It was on a potato bun (small) and was literally just that. brisket/bun/sauce ($9 after tax). Macaroni and cheese would have been better out of the box; potato salad was ok ($5 and change after tax)

Very, very average barbecue place. Nothing wrong with it, nothing super special. Got the 3 meat platter. Beef was very good, thin cut and juicy. Chicken was pretty decent, but got a lot of gristle. Pork was dry. Food was $16. Its a step above fast food for sure, but its not great. Staff was friendly. Apparently free peanuts. Solidly average.

We stopped in the area because we were hungry but also looking for budget. They have 4.99 bacon cheeseburger that is EXCELLENT. Definitely a worthy stop, I would come again for the burger. The fries, sweet potatoes fries, and onion rings were great as well. Super friendly staff, all the way up to the manager.

A true neighborhood gem! The food is great, and the staff is even better! They always greet us with a smile and are always so sweet to our energetic 3 year old. We are always so well taken care of at Rocklands, Melvin, Becca, Ben & Hernesto as well as the rest of the staff define hospitality.

Great for a quick bite. Casual place. Took off a star because they do not offer burnt ends with their brisket. I think it is a different style than I am used to (paper thin slices). I got the 3 meat platter and really enjoyed it. My favorite was the pulled chicken.

Stick to the regular pork ribs (not the babybacks) and order the bakes beans as a side. Pick up a bottle of Gator BBQ sauce there. Pretty much everything else there sucks- but if you stick with the order I just gave you, youre in for a hell of a meal.

I have been here for take out a few times. I have gotten the three meat platter as well as a pulled beef sandwich. Both were great, however, I wish they put more sauce on the platter. The corn pudding is phenomenal and the cucumber salad is refreshing.

The lamb is to die for. I ask for just the rosemary and medium rare with no bbq sauce to go and my car has never smelled so good, let alone tasted so much better when I got to eat it. Another must try is grilled corn with chipotle butter. Yum, yum.

overrated, at least the alexandria location. it flatters to deceive on most counts. the coleslaw was lame, the bbq a bit dry and not as tasty as i was led to believe. this is on repeat visits too. bottom line: go to famous daves. youll be happier.

Its not a bad place but its certainly not great. I eat BBQ everywhere I go and the sliced brisket sandwich I got wasnt what Im accustom to,theres is very thin slices that they fold up and sauce the heck out of. The corn pudding was
