I love when I have a chance to write a positive review of a BBQ place. Doesnt happen often. Found this place via Yelp, and it really delivered. I am a rib snob. Got the half rack dinner (they use baby backs here) with a side of beans and slaw for $15.50 with tax. Loved it. BBQ ribs shouldnt actually fall off the bone. They should be firm and tender, with a flaky texture. Check, check, check. I got mine with spicy sauce on the side, as Im more of a dry rub person. I ended up dipping in the spicy sauce for every bite. Really good sauce, and the spice rub here is minimal. Id guess just salt and pepper. Service was laid back and very friendly. Not sure its the best place to go if youre in a rush, but we didnt ask for rush service, so whos to say they cant go fast if they need to. We really enjoyed the service and atmosphere. Decor is really nice, its in an old fire house, complete with the pole to slide down and the spiral stairs in back. Beautiful space. Parking could not have been easier. My dining companions both got chicken, and both loved what they had. It was unanimous. We left with big smiles on our faces. Hooray Camp Curtin!

Its a real shame that theyre not busier because this place may have the best BBQ in Harrisburg--or in the Central Valley, hands down, for very modest prices. Their real hidden claim to fame? The baked beans. I had the pleasure of the BBQ pulled pork sandwich (the meat was extremely tender and the spicier BBQ sauce was unusually delicious), poured some of the baked beans in, added a little cole slaw..this sandwich was popping. Definitely coming back, definitely recommended for the BBQ enthusiasts.

Amazing. Have been going here for years even tho it is quite a distance from my home. It is run by the owner and his wife who offer great BBQ. You can smell the smoke from the grill as soon as you arrive. I recently tried MISSION BBQ since it is closer to my home and it honestly did not even have a fighting chance matching up with this place. So I guess I will be making the distance and continuing to go here.

Great pulled pork, homemade coleslaw, very friendly. Building is a restored fire house, very nice. After a great meal take the back street and look at the beautiful architecture of the row houses.
