Just stopped in to the Smokehouse Tavern on our way to the races for the first time in years. All I can say is wow. The new owers have really cleaned the place up. If you had ever been there when it was the Checker Board you would agree it is a kinder gentler place. We found the service good and everyone to be very friendly. We just stopped in for a couple of drinks and stayed longer because we were having so much fun. Check it out you will agree!

About 25 of us met for dinner one evening when a band was playing and we had a GREAT time. The food was really good, service was good considering that there were a lot of us and I would suggest this place to anyone who wants a nice place to hang out and have a good time.

Chicken tenders came out undercooked, we went to get it replaced with a bacon burger and the bacon was also not cooked. Smelled like cigarettes as well even though no one was smoking.

The food and drinks are great. The owner and the bartenders are fabulous. On a scale of 1 to 10 it is a 15. Just a beautiful place and atmosphere.
