I would like to publicly thank Kim McGill, Community Ambassador, at the Elliott City location. We recently held a reunion for retired/active police officers out of the Woodlawn Precinct. Ms. McGILL went far and above what anyone would expect. Her assistance in planning our menu, arriving on time, setting up, and staying to help with serving, when she did not have to. The food, of course, was fantastic. Her cheery demeanor was infectious. She even allowed one of our officers to ride in the Half Track for a short distance around the park. She was thrilled! Mission BBQ is dedicated to honoring those who serve, and who have served. Their Mission is accomplished! We are deeply grateful for all the help and support. We were able to raise money to donate to our special memorial garden at Precinct Two, where we honor the memories of several if our officers, Officer Curtis Morseberger, Sgt. Bruce Prothero, and Officer Jeffrey Neral, who were taken from us way too soon. Thank you Kim, and Thank you Mission BBQ, your dedication to all in uniform, of every color, touches our hearts and makes what we do worthwhile.

BBQ With a Side of Ammo OH MY GOD. If the decor here were ironic, itd be hilarious. But they are freaking serious. Okay so for anyone who does not know, the "Mission" in Mission BBQ, is not about southwestern architecture. And is CERTAINLY not about, say, a Christian style of mission. Nope, this Mission is about the killin kinda mission. This place is the most in-your-face, God bless the military that Ive ever seen. I mean, I respect our armed forces. But this is like walking into an SNL skit. Example: those arent plastic forks. Theyre WEAPONS OF MASS CONSUMPTION. Seriously, Mission? Do you really need to make a joke about WMDs to give me a fork? Howzabout adding a Hiroshima hot dog to the menu, haw haw haw... I gave it three stars, an average between four stars for the decent food, and (a charitable) two stars for the over-the-top side of killin. Murca. BUT WAIT THERES MORE: The richest part of all? After all of the butt-kissy military talk, they dont even give a military discount. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My first visit to Mission BBQ was very disappointing. I must say that they need improvement in customer service. The greeter was so focused on one customer that I did not even get "hello" or "welcome". I had carry out order for 3 people. I mentioned to be boxed individually. When I got the order, pulled pork was all in one box, no corn bread and only given 2 bbq sauces. When I went back to ask for corn bread, the server was not happy. Perhaps, it was not my day. Green beans & Bacon side was very salty.

I truly enjoyed the staff and the food. The food handler person was very friendly and since it was my first time coming he inform me about how the food is prepared and that they did not use microwaves and refrigerate food everything is prepared fresh every day. All the meats were very tender. I was very impressed with that knowledge and all the sauces was really good too I was told by my husband because I like dry rubs more. The side dishes was good too. I will Go back.

Mission BBQ always has good BBQ. Excellent spare ribs and pulled chicken! My husbands favorite is the smoked yard bird. Its funny how the staff always explains to customers that order the yard bird that the "pink" ring is from smoking the chicken. True bbqers know abt smoke rings and YES the meat is done! The sides are delicious as well. Mission had a good thing going. Keep up the good work!!

I just want to say how absolutely appalling it is that they do not give a military discount. They claim to support and represent the military but dont give a discount. In that sense, McDonalds provides more to the military. I been in the Marines for 6 years and this to me is a clear sign of hypocrisy and disrespect. Using the militarys name to further your profits..... appalling.

This place is great! The staff are helpful and nice and the food is out of this world! A bit cheaper than famous daves but better in my opinion. The brisket sandwich is a must try! They also did a great deal to help with the flood in old ellicott city. Not a bad thing to say about this place. Except for the fact that it can be crowded at times, but is that really a bad thing?

The food was actually really good, and I live in NC (so I know my BBQ). The service was also top notch. I was there on Air Force appreciation day, and after they played their daily National Anthem at noon (everyone stands and stops what theyre doing, even the staff), they recognized all veterans and active military currently eating in the restaurant.

We had our tasting for our wedding and could not have been happier. They accomodated us last minute and Mea was extremely helpful and kind. As a business owner its nice to see a place that has staff that genuinely care about their customers and do what they do woth a smile on their face. Thank you!

The service was amazing!! I was greeted very quickly in a warm genuine fashion. The food was not as great as Ive heard people rave about. The meat was a tad bit cold and dry. It took plenty of sauce to get it to taste moist. I love the theme and service but the food could stand improvement.

This is easily the best restaurant on the highway 40 in Ellicott city. The BBQ is outstanding! It competes well with places I have been in KS TX TN and NC. The service is great. A new and young team clearly focused on customer service and attention to detail. Highly Recommended.

Great food, very friendly service - including managers who are always available, if not already circulating on the dining room. If you have a service or first responder patch you are willing to contribute, you become a star and are treated as such for months to come.

Mission BBQ is an average rib/pulled pork restaurant. I find their pork to be a bit on the dry side. You have to use a fair amount of sauce. That said, service is always excellent and fast. We drop in every few week as one of our standard places for lunch.

Closest thing to a real Texas barbecue Ive seen on the East coast. Food was delicious, service was friendly (and fast!), and I love that theres no sauce on the meat and you can choose your own at the table--six different options. I will definitely be back.

This is not a place for vegetarians. If you like/can eat meat, they are great. The restaurant is clean, service is fast and friendly, and the price is reasonable, arguably even among the best value for your buck for a BBQ place in Howard County.

Wonderful BBQ and a great attitude towards our honored veterans. A definite winner. When old town Ellicott City flooded, the folks from Mission BBQ fed the clean up workers for free. No one had to ask, they just volunteered to help out.
