Loved the York location, love not having to cross the river for Mission even more. Ive seen some negative reviews and feel I need to clarify some things: Brisket is commonly fatty. It has been everywhere Ive ever gotten it. Thats just the way it is. The 1 star review whining about fatty brisket? Thats on him for not knowing what he was ordering and certainly not worth a single star, especially after noting two positive previous visits The place hasnt been open long and is operated quite differently than many areas restaurants. All of the employees are new to the restaurant. There are things to learn and it doesnt happen after just a couple days working. The 2 star rating complaining about disorganization is also unwarranted. Every time Ive been here, theyve been slammed. Lines almost out the door and ever-growing. Despite this, Ive never been in said line longer than 10 minutes. I think thats pretty amazing for a place so new with so much business Great, extremely pro-military atmosphere. Friendly employees. Good food with some fantastic sauces (try the KC and Memphis Belle). And always busy from what Ive seen. That speaks louder than any negative review. If the place was less than amazing, lack of customers would reflect that. Just try it. I guarantee youll return

Although my first experience was more pleasant, this one was extremely disappointing. We placed a call in order for two separate tickets. They told us it would be ready in a few minutes and we sent our daughter to pick up the orders. Our daughter contacted us and said that we only called in one order and had the (2nd order) ready. How could we call in only one order but be told they had the second one ready? So my daughter places the first order we originally called in, and they were out of baked beans? Maybe that is why they didnt fill our first order to begin with. The food is good although pricey for the portions, but the bad service and basically saying we didnt give them the first order (honesty?) will allow me to make the choice of not giving this location my business again.

We revisited Mission BBQ in Harrisburg, PA, today, June 12. So, I feel the need to update my previous comments. The food was great! I had the same 1/4 pound of pulled pork, today it was moist and tender. Lots of flavor! And, I also enjoyed Corn on the Cob, Fabulous! Great work in bringing back the wonderful food that we enjoy! Looking forward to our next visit. .We initially ate at Mission BBQ in Maryland, loved it! Since then we have frequented the restaurant at Reading, PA. Now were so happy to have one in Harrisburg, PA, nearer our home. Great food, great service and wonderful appreciation for vets. Thank you! As an update, during our last two visits the pulled pork was overcooked and very greasy. So disappointing.

Im a Texas transplant living in PA. This is by far the best Southern style BBQ place Ive been to in my 3 years of living in PA. The food and the ambiance is spot on. Felt like I was back home in the South. This place does it right. The only things they lose points on is calling coleslaw "cold slaw". Maybe that was a typo on the menu?? What I cant forgive is the vinegary Carolina sauce displayed on the table. Sorry, thats not BBQ sauce... its douche. In their defense they provided a good assortment of other sauces any Texan could be proud of. Good job Mission BBQ. Extra points for the patriotism. Now you need to open a location on the West Shore!

Great addition to Harrisburg. Been here 3 times since they opened on Monday. Highly recommend. Veteran, LE and fire friendly with nice memorabilia on the walls. If youre in the building at noon, be ready to stand for the National Anthem because they do it every day. Moving moment, especially when there are military members in uniform, standing at attention. Huge positive vibes when everyone claps afterwards. Great restaurant, great supporter of vets and great tasting food.

Food was good. I ordered the pork sandwitch with fries and cole slaw. Bun was a bit cold compared to the rest of the meal. Fries were excellent. Pork itself was a bit lukewarm but I still thuroughly enjoyed it. Great selection of sauces. Wasnt really a fan of the whole overkill sports/military ambiance. Service was good and even checked up on us despide the fact that its more of a chipolte styled dining experiance. Overall a good experiance and I will probably come again.

A big shout out of thanks to Mission BBQ and their staff, especially Kaila, who provided the meal for our latest deployment at the Lower Swatara Fire Department. Forestry fire fighters from the states of Indiana and Ohio, all gave thumbs up to the meal! I know that most went back for seconds and possibly thirds! Mission BBQ truly supports the community and its emergency services, as well as military people. Thank you again for providing an awesome meal last evening.

Second time here. First time, delicious. Second time, even better. Love the unashamed America/Military/Police/Fire theme. Be prepared to stop eating at 12:00 noon and stand for the National Anthem. I was taken by surprise by this, but its all good. Its refreshingly awesome to be in a place that is not ashamed to proudly display a pro America atmosphere.

Ive been here for times and got the brisket every time because it is so tender and tasty! Love playing with the different sauces on the table to mix flavors to suit my mood! It reminds me of bbq I got in Dallas and Nashville. The seasonal side dishes are always excellent! I highly recommend getting an XL or XXL combo to get the side dishes and fountain drink.

My family took me to Mission BBQ for Fathers day. I cant believe Ive never been here before! The food is all outrageously delicious, the staff is cool and friendly and the service was top notch. Nice touches with military pictures all over the place and a cool way to say thanks to the military. We will definitely be back for more! Outstanding!!!!

This is the BBQ that Ive been craving since I left Atlanta. The pulled pork was tender, moist and smoky. The selection of sauces offered a range of flavors to complement the meat. The mac and cheese was spot on and even the cornbread was just right. There are many more options on the menu and Ill be back soon to try more.

Im dreaming of the brisket and green beans with bacon, and cole slaw! So, so good :) Its exactly like homemade BBQ, with hospitality. AND, they support our troops and services, so you know your money is being spent wisely. Take the trip, you wont be sorry! Ask for samples to help you decide on what to order, and enjoy!

Second time here. Enjoyed meal on both occassions. $20 for two ppl. Plenty of food plus leftover to take home. Personable customer service at the table. Got food pretty quickly during a busy evening dinner hour. Food has a bit of "smoked" flavor but not overpowering. Recommend this place for a tasty economical meal.

Super good ribs, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and corn bread. My husband had a pulled chicken sandwich that was really good. Baby back ribs were super moist and really good flavor. Loved all the barbecue sauces they had to offer. Would love to go back for a sandwich or a meat platter.
