Use the left door entrance! I got the crab cakes. After what all the other reviews said I thought I would try them. This is that rare time where they are CRAB cakes. Literally no filler and theyre huge. Easily the same size as the buns they serve you before your meal arrives, if not bigger. Cant say much about the other food. I overheard a waiter say the fried clams are pre-breaded and frozen. They were average and without bellies. Waiter was good; bus staff was weak. They had conversations about things I would rather not have heard whilst eating (e.g., comments on their personal hygiene). Nothing on the entre menu is under 15 bucks although you get a good amount considering its price and the fact that it is seafood. Most things are around 20-25. Recommended for passersby and other locals.

We had dinner 11/05/10 at Edgewater Restr after several folk said that Edgewater Restr had the best lump crabcake in the Balt/Wash areas including our favorite Jerrys Seafood of Lanham ,Ruth Chris, and Legal Seafood. Im ok with lack of ambience, service excellant, but the jumbo lump crabcake was average at best. My friend enjoyed the Seafood platter although a tad bit over fried. The crabmeat had very little filler which is great, lacked seasoning and they use Indonesian crabmeat which texture you get with a MD or NC crab. Of course MD & NC crabs are not as large an Indonesian or Chinese crab. I have no reason to return to Edgewater Rest. Jerry has them beat hands down!

If your looking for Maryland crab meat crab cakes this is not the.place to go. What you do get is the best darn crab cakes you ever had. The cream of crab soup should get the award for best in Maryland. Service is great , the girls that wait on you are mostly related to the owners and make you fell like you are related too. Try to get there in the middle of the week as the weekends the place is packed. But alway worth the wait.

Service was horrible! Our waitress was very inattentive and my water glass remained empty for 30 mins. The crab dip was a bowl of cream cheese and absolutely no crab. My entree the stuffed shrimp was just ok. The twice baked potato was dry waited 20 mins for butter that we eventually asked a 12 year old busboy to get for us. I wont be returning at all!!

Hands down the best kept secret in Maryland. This place is a local family owned dinning gem. Dont expect anything fancy but just good food. They serve the best crab cakes Ive ever had. Their recipe has been handed down from one generation to the next. Make sure you bring a big appetite or be prepare to share the crab cakes. . Tell them JD sent you.

Underwhelmed Ive been rather dismayed with the ratings for restaurants in the NCR. We keep going to 4+ star rated restaurants and receiving mediocre meals. We ate surf and turf and the steak was grainy from being cooked with the heat too low. The lobster was also slightly overcooked. I was also surprised to see an iceberg lettuce salad bar.

This place has been the same for years. Come as you are. Tables are close together service is ok. Its laid back hole in the wall place . They have special most nights. Dont miss the crab cakes, they are very good. The rest of the mend can be good one night and ok another time. Its a bit pricey for what you get, but you wont go hungry.

The staff is incredibly friendly. The jumbo lump crab cakes and the cream of crab soup are the best Ive ever had and I live on the eastern shore of Maryland! Sometimes there is a wait but the food is worth it. Everything my family has had from appetizers to main courses has always been excellent.

This is like the old fashioned super clubs of old. Fantastic salad bar and outstanding fresh seafood. Staff make you feel right at home. The crackers and cheese spread were a nice touch. Good bar drinks too. Whats not to like. Go, you wont be disappointed.

Best crabs cakes in the area. And you cant beat the cheese and crackers on the table. Yes its small and behind decades in decor, but thats the charm. Its a local family owned restaurant thats not trying to be something its not. Staff is always friendly.

Stellar food. Crab cakes with zero filler and tons of flavor. Cream of crab soup is the best Ive had in ages. As long as you dont mind the atmosphere (dark, outdated and small - not well suited for large groups) this is definitely a place you should try

Good food....crabcakes are nothing but crabmeat! Maryland crab soup also has huge pieces of crabmeat in it. Only thing lacking about this place is the decor. Its like stepping back into the 70s when you walk in. But the food makes up for it.

Old school family restaurant with scrumptious food! I had the grouper and it was AMAZING. The salad bar was very fresh and the crab soup the perfect blend of crab and spice. Truly a hidden gem that hopefully remains that way!

My family and I love it. The establishment is quaint, a very welcoming staff/family, and the food is GREAT!!! No one has a better crab cake, stuffed shrimp, or fresh cut fries and I stamp that with a $100 dollar stamp

Excited to try a local restaurant, disappointed by the quality of the food at too high of a price. We kept hoping it would get better, seafood was not fresh, all 5 of us left unhappy with our meal.

Best jumbo lump crab cakes around, but you gotta go for the lump and broiled. Salad bar and sides are okay, nothing special, but we go for the crab cakes, and have never been disappointed.

Cream of crab soup is great. If you are looking for atmosphere, dont come here. But, if you want great tasting seafood, this is the place. Prices are worth the trip. Staff very friendly.
